Town Car Photo Gallery

The body work on my recently acquired 2003 Lincoln Town Car Executive is done so I can finally share the results. My goal was to make it appear more ‘Sporty’ while still respecting the Lincoln brand. I hope you like the results.

Lower rocker panel trim under the doors is the after market 4” stainless pieces which I have painted gloss black and clear-coated. To match, the lower portion of the front and rear bumper covers were also painted black and cleared. I ‘wrapped’ it the paint around the wheel opening to depict an aftermarket add-on a piece as opposed to just painting it – which I did. Same effect front and rear.

The mirrors were painted black and clear-coated as well as the exterior door handle surrounds and the rear parking assist sensor grommets. I was looking for any opportunity to break up the vast sea of Vibrant White.

Rear tail lights were painted a medium smoke and cleared. Same for the license and back-up lights. The rear license fascia was painted matte black. Headlights were not modified.

I added two more pictures to better explain my 'wrapping' thing.

Ordered trim pieces. Another issue, about these intake manifolds cracking. Anyone have that happen? Does anybody make an aluminum intake manifold for this engine?

The later model years (I think it was 2001+ or 2002+ but someone correct me if I'm wrong). had a revised intake manifold with aluminum crossover instead of the earlier plastic crossover, which fixed the most common failure point of the earlier ones. The later design still tends to crack eventually, but not as early or as often. Before those model years it was all plastic, I don't think there is an all-aluminum version. Pretty much all of the aftermarket replacements available today use the strengthened design, but there's still a lot of plastic on it. Your 2005 came from factory with the updated version.

Danmanatc, that is a great picture, but my OCD keeps complaining about the slightly crooked hood ornament. :D

Babyburr, those chrome pillar covers are easy to find on ebay. they make chrome rocker panels, wheel arches, and a few smaller items if you like that sort of thing.

Mine is a an '03 Limited, which has its own look so the only thing I added was a set of valve stem caps with the Lincoln logo on them. After 5 years or so they are kind of faded, and I noticed today that one is missing. Might have to splurge and get some new ones. :)

The hood ornament could be do to the wide angle lens distortion, but sometimes from the all weather car cover I use, it can get slightly crooked.

Here is my '03 Limited Edition. This was a late-in-2003 offering from Lincoln. It is most easily recognized by the unique dark colored grill vanes. I know that beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but I love the dark grill. Other differences between the Limited and other '03's are the seat cushions are tuck and roll and vented versus the flat panels of other '03's. The wheels have a darker inner color as well. I've only ever seen one other Limited in person (passed it on the highway), and have seen a small handful on the internet. This one has every option except Nav (which I wouldn't want). Bought it 4 years ago to replace my '95 Town Car that had 290K miles. This one had 96K and now has 150K.
