MSFT Sync 4.4 download file

2016 Sync 3 requires a firmware update AND a new USB port install for CarPlay to work.

As for a 2010, an aftermarket head unit would be easier to install than in 2013+, which requires the touchscreen integration for climate controls and heated/cooled seats. I'm a little jealous of owners of pre-2013 models for that reason, and the fact the physical buttons are more reliable than the touch panel FCIM, which are prone to fail, as mine did.

Hi RG. Thanks for the SYNC information. I was not aware SYNC 3 was available in the 2016 MKT.
SYNC 3 was not available in the MKZ (my vehicle) until 2017 and had physical knobs/buttons and Apple CarPlay (wired) from day 1. Mine is a 2018.

And I completely agree with you concerning MyLincolnTouch touch/slider controls versus later SYNC 3 with physical buttons. While I did not own a Lincoln equipped with MyLincolnTouch, I did test drive quite a few, and did not care for the touch/slider controls at all. I certainly prefer the physical knobs/buttons in my 2018 MKZ.

Good luck.

All I'll need is your eMail address.
I've got a 2014 F-150 (basic sync no color display) with Gen1 v4.6 and want to roll back to v4.4 (or any version that allows you to use talk to text while connected to bluetooth). Do you have these zip files and would you mind sending to me please? I've been unable to use Siri or talk to text for the last several years and I'm about to lose my mind. Email is philcolligan@yahoo.com

philcolligan, Files sent.

Hello SGilbert. If possible I would also like the files to revert from 4.6 to 4.4 or earlier. I’m using a sync version 1 in a 2010 escape. Thanks in advance if anyone else can help.

Stvfrmatl, file sent--watch for an eMail.

2010fordfusionv6, I cannot send without an eMail address.

Sent Sync 4.4.1. No guarantee it'll work, though.

OK, all you Sync 1 users that I have helped all these years, now I need help. (remember, I'm a Mac user)
I want to install the 4.4.1 downgrade that I've sent to all of you.
For the life of me, I cannot figure out how to get the dreaded 'File not found' to recognize my thumb drive.

The drive is formatted in MS DOS (FAT), but I also need to specify the scheme. Only choices I have, are show in the pic.

What's the secret??

I don't recall doing that step when I did it (also a Mac user). I'd probably choose the GUID Partition Map.

Well, I have tried, multiple times each, all possibilities. Always the 'File Not Found' :(

There's the 94Mb single file, unzipped, there are 2 exe's and a folder for 3 items, and if I open the file, there are 9 items in that one. Which alternative have y'all used". Again, thumb drive is formatted MS DOS (FAT) (which I'm led to believe is Fat32) and GUID Partition Map.

Only thing I can think of is that Apple changed format several years to APFS (see pic), I did not use that, but possibly the 4.4.1 file has changed. ALTHOUGH, I have sent this to many people over the years and have had no complaints.

What have I missed or done wrong?? I'll give it one last try if I get a good suggestion, otherwise, F it---I totally give up and will stay with 4.6!

I'm not getting a "Scheme" option on mine (macOS 11.4 Big Sur, Apple M1) with my test flash drive. I tried doing a little digging into Apple's support articles. I'm not sure if any of this will be helpful.

Trying a different drive, that's under 32GB, it shows MS-DOS (FAT32) selected. Do you have a different flash drive to try?
