So i recently reserved a standard trim 2020 corsair from a third party dealer who's bought it from the ford/lincoln dealership directly (I've called and verified that the car is indeed brand new and purchased from them).
A few days ago i was there assessing the car. I pop open the hood and lo and behold the engine is without an appearance cover. The employees at the dealership claim they don't know how that is. I told them to open the hood of another 2020 standard corsair (which was already also sold) and i did infact see the cover there.
I did some digging around and saw some reviews on youtube. The 2021 corsairs (or at least some of the ones i saw reviews of) had no engine covers, yet aa of the 2020 reviews had them.
Any idea why this might be? I read on some forum somewhere that all corsairs produced after june 2020 came without the engine cover due to supply chain issues, but i wasn't able to verify that. If anyone has any idea/can point me to some official lincoln documentation as to why this may be, I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks

MY first mistake was not ever opening the hood before taking the Corsair home. If I had, I would have had it included in the deal, as I did with the rear cargo cover....which I probably won't continue to use. Never had experience with this "solid" type. I now realize I prefer the roll-out type.

My second mistake? I have "bumped" my forehead at least two times on this one when getting something out of the back in a somewhat darkened garage. Shame on me! I suspect it will now find a semi-permanent home in a dark corner of my garage.

Would you be willing to part with it, and send it to a good Canadian home? (it'll perhaps be a bit of a pain to package for shipping, I suppose)

Normally I would, but I suspect that my wife will want to use it on occasion.

Hi Joe,

I’ll copy/paste my post #107 on page 6 without the web page URL’s you can see there. Glad I got it and gave my parts team guys a few autographed baseballs as a thank you for all their help…

From Post #107:
Finally found all parts for 2021 Corsair 2.0T Engine Cover 19 May 2021

NOTE: Please see attached drawings and pictures for reference

Nomenclature ____ Part Number ____ Drawing Callout

Engine Cover ____ K2GE-6A949-BD ____ 6A949

Stud – Threaded - Left Side ____ W714647 ____ HT2

Nut and Washer (Combined) ____ W520201-S450B ____ HN1

Stud - Ball – Right Side ____ 6N958 ____ 6N958

Sorry, this chart was not easy to format right. I've also attached the PDF document I drafted that looks easier to read.

Both studs are screwed into the brass fittings on the cylinder head cover as shown in the attachment and website.

My dealer sold me one of each rather than as packaged with multiple quantities. I haven't received the new threaded stud yet, so the only picture I have is of the ball stud installed directly in front of the electronic fuel pump with rubber cover. The nuts are expensive, but they have a plastic "lock" installed as well as the built-in washer all in one part. 3rd URL below will show an excellent view of the nut.

Glad it was helpful. It was worth the effort now that my car looks like it should. It's a shame Lincoln discontinued including the engine cover.

I'm about to order.
So I need the cover (K2GE-6A949-B), Stud ball (6N958), only one threaded stud for the left side (W714647) and one nut/washer (W520201-S450B) even though there are 3 threaded brass areas.
A total of 4 parts to order with only two areas securing the cover.

Great post! Super prices. I’ll make a note of that supplier! I don’t recall what the extra brass fitting was, but you should be good to go with this list of parts. Nice chart! I had trouble there.

Does anyone know if there is an engine cover for the Corsair Grand Touring?

I don't know for a fact, as the cover was likely never included from the factory.. BUT you might start research with the 2020 Escape Hybrid. Might have come with one early in the model year, and MIGHT fit your GT. Lots of mights here. LOL

Let us know what you figure out.

Maybe good prices but $27.73 shipping isn't.

I'd like one also. I checked with several Ford sites coming up with none on my own. I emailed two sites and heard back from OnlineFordPartsCatalog.com who said one could not be found.

I called the Concierge and after an extended hold, was told me to "contact my dealer". I'll let you know if I hear anything promising.

Dealer says "we do not offer an engine cover for the hybrid version of the Corsair". (n) At this point I'd take one from the Escape or Kuga, but our British cousins seem to have the same complaint. I may track down a cover for the Ford Kuga and see if it fits...

Great point. They falsely appear to have great product prices, then make it up in shipping and handling. Thanks for the info.

Thank you Stu! I actually got better help from Lincoln, as one would hope and expect... Nice that it has the Lincoln logo, as I just ordered it from Lincoln, and the parts guy said it came up on his "Snap-On" (tool co.) system for the MKC and Nautilus. Bingo. They apparently don't want Corsair customers getting frustrated or upset and asking the dealer to put on the cover that was "expected" and indicated by the existing mounting studs for the front of the cover. They have the standard response that it's "not available for Corsair."

And it was a little more expensive at Lincoln. Like the hitch that was more than the cost of the same hitch and bike rack at U-Haul, where my dealer referred me when they had trouble getting me a 1.25" hitch.
Do you have the Lincoln part number for the cover? Thx
