2024 Nautilus software and battery issues

Anyone see this message about the web site for history. I could not get it to work
Yep. It does not apply to Lincoln vehicles. Another example of poor software implementations by Ford/Lincoln.

Yes, but it's not for us. The issue is that this is taking you to a ford.com site, for which this works with Ford vehicles. But for us it redirects us to a lincoln.com site, which does not have this functionality.
I just read an article that ford just now issued a recall and do not drive for all heavy duty trucks - they forget to put a 2nd spring in the master brake cylinder which means the brakes could totally fail at any time - this hits over 300,000 vehicles.
What I found interesting about this article was that Ford currently has over 75 recalls currently in the process that is more than all the other car manufacturers combined.
the article goes on to say - ;so much for Ford quality control

And some will blame China. I hope that some new people have taken it to heart to fix the sins of the past.

Indeed...!
We must find these "blame China" folks, tar & feather them with eucalyptus leaves, and throw them into into the Panda Pit at the San Diego Zoo!

I've found your posts outside of topic = China to be helpful and appreciated. And I thought your thread on China was well thought through and generated good discussion. Inserting China regularly into other topics, especially when it has nothing to do with the topic at hand, dilutes the value you bring to the group, in my opinion.

well the OTA update for the Driver Status Camera module failed 2 times yesterday and again at 1 AM. Likely due to the battery SOC. I measure 11.8 v under the hood on my 24 Hybrid. I have an appointment for an oil change and tire rotation Tuesday. I have them check the battery

So I called Lincoln Help desk and she reported that my battery SOC was 60% (I guess that's what 11.8 v is). Looks like I'll be getting a new battery

Most SOC charts show 60% around 12.2V. From my experience, if you open a door and pop the hood, the battery voltage drops maybe 0.2 V and if left alone it will recover some so I would check after no interaction for several hours. I do suggest seeing the dealer.

I recently purchased a 2024 Lincoln Nautilis the dealer told me I was the first one in the state of Florida to take possession of the car. Within a few days they called me back to update the software for no particular reason and then within a week of that my battery went dead. I took it in for service, and it went dead again, I took it in for service another time and it continued to drain after they replaced it with a brand new battery now they’re trying to load software to monitor what’s happening to the car and the car won’t accept the software they’re trying to download into my new vehicle my car is only six weeks old I haven’t been able to drive it for three weeks. Has anybody else been having similar software and battery issues?

You need to go for the lemon law and get your money back now ! I have a 2024 Lincoln Corsair and I waited for Lincoln to fix my Corsair - after 1 year they admitted they could not fix it - and they said it was still drivable - I went for the lemon law - however, the lemon law says - MARKET VALUE - Lincoln offered me 60 cents on the dollar.
Just yesterday I read that Ford has more recalls than all the other car manufacturers combined - so they are not interested in correcting their mistakes

goober, I did not bring it up, angore did! I was just responding (tongue in cheek) to his comment that "some will blame China"!
Thanks for your understanding!

Arguably, FoMoCo was the first to have a recall on motor vehicles way back in the infancy of automobile manufacturing.
The Model T seats were stuffed with moss, which is a natural habitat for "Chiggers". These little creatures found their way into the pantaloons of those unfortunate enough to be sitting in the seat.
Thus, the first recall was created!
Why mess with Tradition?

How do I check to see if our early 24 Hybrid did this update. Oh my Super Cruise in my Sierra Denali so much better then Fords Blue Cruise. Many more roads also mapped in Super Cruise also. Come on Ford need more updates on roads.

It's telling that 1) someone acknowledged the issue without naming you and 2) that you jumped right onto it.

I'll state again that basing SoC on voltage for a battery under load is an imprecise estimate of SoC.

But Lincoln doesn't have to do it that way. They know how many mAh have discharged from the battery since the last charge. Just like your cellphone, they track the history of net mAh discharged from full to empty, so they know the effective capacity of the battery. When you're cellphone says 50% remaining, that's means it's consumed half of its effective capacity. It's the same with the Nautilus.

TLDR; Your Nautilus SOC reported by Lincoln is a more precise estimate based on charge collected vs discharged, not mere voltage.

It would be so nice if the app showed the SOC alongside with the tire pressure and oil life.

I had requested it and got a response like "we like to hear from our users...."

Goober,
You nailed it!
Nothing personal, this is all good discussion.

Update on the Driver Status Monitor Camera. The dealer is still working on other things but the Lincoln Way app reported a successful update. Anyone know why the driver camera would be in a power state if the ignition was off? See pic
