2024 Nautilus software and battery issues

Purchased my 2024 Hybrid Nautilus 3/18/24 - 3 weeks later a dead battery 4/11/24. Had driven it evening before no issues. Now at dealership & 5 days later no answer. Hugely concerning that I am not alone. Seems this was not ready for market & no real faith in it now.. feel I have a Lemon  Will update as I hear more.
Did you get a power light in the panel?

Rose03191. my dealership found the battery draw and fixed it. it is a module that needs to be reprogrammed. have your dealer call Sam in the service dept. at Future Ford in Roseville CA. he will help them out... remind him about Val's Nautilus. he knows what needs to be done to fix it

Any chance you can share the solution that appears on your service invoice here?

I think many dealer service departments might be hesitant to call another dealer to ask for repair advice.

What module?

What module?
you would have to talk to sam..I dont know the name of it..he said he found the problem for all of the Nautilus cars..I thought he would get the word out to the US dealers..it was causing a parasitic draw on the battery

I ask because between this and other threads I have mentioned the Body Control Module needing to be reprogrammed and have been virtually ignored on it. And, I don't know who Sam is.

read the entire thread..sam is my service guy at Future Ford in Roseville CA. the service guys here figured out where my parasitic draw was coming from..he can inform you or any service manager what module it was. it appears to affect the nautilus's that were early manufactures.

Yeah, I'm not going to go back and read 30+ pages of a thread to find out who Sam is. If you can't find out what was done on your own vehicle, then I couldn't care less at this point.

There have been 3 software fixes released for parasitic drains so far - VDM, Anti-Lock Brakes, and Camera module software.

The best evidence is a copy of the work order that describes what was done. Can this be produced?

It is not uncommon that reflashing the same code can fix issues. I am sure there more current levels for much of the software but dealers will not update unless they get compensated for it.

....I'm not going back....to to find out who Sam is.
Throughout our history, the name "Sam" has popped up now and then shrouded in intrigue and mystery until eventually solved!
Uncle Sam, Samuel Little, Sam the Piano player, and the Son of Sam among others!
Sam is just that kind of a name.
Take for instance "Son of Sam". Sam was a dog owner who had an allegedly possessed dog named Harvey. Sam had a few sons who had a friend. This friend believed that Sam's dog was relaying evil messages to him that were originated by Sam himself! This friend took the name "Son of Sam" as he carried out the evil deeds transmitted to him via Sam's (allegedly) possessed dog Harvey!
For those of us in NYC, we can never forget the effort the NYPD, among others, had made to track down who the "Son of Sam" was. It took time, but it payed off.
I dated a young woman back then who lived with her parents in the Bronx. I had to spend my weekend dates with her at their home, dining with them then afterwards spending the evening on the porch of her home. Curfew on the porch was 11:45PM, often extended to a 15 min. grace which was marked by the front window blinds being rolled up so we could be seen in full view...but I digress!

My point is, we now have a mysterious Sam who could be an asset to this forum with the info he may have if only we can track him down!
I say, the time it may take to track "Sam the Service Guy" may be well worth it!
Let's not allow this mysterious Sam to go unsolved!

If the invoice for the work was posted it may have the mechanics name as they are often listed.

I think

Yeah, I'm not sure if @vlaugtug's tech Sam was just addressing the parasitic draw of one of these three modules, or something else. The battery drain events appear to be a one-time draw when the vehicle gets into a certain state — not what I would call a parasitic draw.

I agree it was not always there. The code gets into a certain state so it stays active and then becomes a parasitic drain.

yes we have had the battery quit 3 times, the last time it was a brand new battery installed by the dealer. I would love to hear from anybody else that has had this problem and what the fix is
Im trading mine back in tommorrow and ordering a gas engine. Battery dead for the second time had enough !!!

I hope this update relaxes the sensitivity of not looking at the road.

Too bad it can't straighten the driver monitor housing on the steering wheel column.

Anyone see this message about the web site for history. I could not get it to work
Yes, but it's not for us. The issue is that this is taking you to a ford.com site, for which this works with Ford vehicles. But for us it redirects us to a lincoln.com site, which does not have this functionality.
