2024 Nautilus software and battery issues

Where can I see a log of all the recalls, updates and CSP’s applied to my vehicle? I know I can see pending recalls and CSP’s.

Thanks

Hi Billz. If no other member can offer an easier way: We can obtain a printout of all Lincoln/Ford Dealership performed work on our vehicles, from the Service Department of our local Lincoln or Ford Dealership. It is all in the Ford OASIS system.

If we stop by the Lincoln Dealership we purchased from and ask our Service Advisor for a copy, they will normally provide it for free. Other Dealerships may charge a fee.

I am sure others will jump in to help, and good luck. 🍻

You can drop into the service lane of any Lincoln (or for that matter Ford) dealer. They will scan the bar code on your door B-pillar. It will inform them of all outstanding customer satisfaction programs, software updates and recalls applicable to your specific VIN. You don't have to have purchased the vehicle there. You can then elect to schedule an appointment of say thanks and go on your way.
I juast did this at a Lincoln dealer this week, other than where I purchased it. I then scheduled an appointment for 3 weeks out and stated I had to have a loaner car as they could keep mine for as long as they needed to get all these flaws fixed.

I'm curious as to what you had outstanding, @RetiredGuyinFL?

Also, about your battery — there are standard tests to determine the health of your battery. Have you seen the results of those tests? When I took mine in, I had noted I had a battery death a month earlier, but it was working fine since. I didn't complain about it. But they ran a test and said the battery failed, and replaced it on their own.

I've seen a couple of guys on here, like you, that seem to have bad experiences with dealers. Yes, the vehicle had some issues at launch, but a good dealer can ease those issues with prompt corrective actions, loaners, proactive updates and today we have a Nautilus with which we have very few complaints.

I have had the 24B09B infotainment update done at the dealer as I never got the OTA. The dealer identified that the rear shocks needed to be replaced even though I had not noticed any clunking sound back there.

The service adviser said the 24P08 Driver Status Monitor Camera had still not been released after being pulled. As it turned out it was released again a few days later on Aug. 21. That one is also related to the battery drain issue.

I have also requested SSM 52785 Grunt Noise from Front Brakes During Initial Applications. This never resolved itself and the fix it to replace the discs.

Then just released is the SSM 52880 Keyless Entry Keypad Inoperative or Does Not Illuminate Following Ignition Time Out. This one is also identified as related to the low battery state of charge.

I check my battery every day. After one day it’s at 50%. After two days it’s at 25%. I informed them that the battery must be replaced as it has likely been permanently affected. If they don’t do this I will pay for it myself. Of course when I get the surveys from the dealer, Lincoln and CarFax, I will rate them appropriately.

Going on vacation tomorrow for twelve days. Ubering to the airport. We’ll see the state of the battery when I return. I’m not using a battery tender as the battery should be able to sit for two weeks.
So I got back from vacation today. Before going on vacation, I did move my keys further from the car, just in case the person house/pet sitting was opening the door from the kitchen to garage. I also removed the Lincoln app trying to connect message that I usually have sitting in my notifications.

When I entered the garage, there were no Lincoln embrace welcome lights. When I entered the car, the 48” screen did not light up. My first attempt at pressing the start button did nothing. The second starting in auxiliary mode I got a Lincoln logo. The third attempt, the car started.
I drove around for a while and hopefully the car will start again tomorrow.

I just opened my Lincoln App for the first time in almost two weeks. I don’t see any messages from the battery management system about low battery or the system conserving battery etc. Not sure why I don’t have any messages as clearly some items were not lighting up as they normally would.

Happy the car started…

Wow, all these battery stories make my head spin. And I continue to wonder whether they're more prevalent with the hybrid vs non-hybrid. I've had zero battery issues (or any other mechanical issues, for that matter) with my non-hybrid. I was away for 10 days last month and when I returned, the light show didn't happen, but the car doors opened up immediately (with PAAK) and the engine started immediately. No drama. No problems.

Are you seeing messages on phone app? I have seen a "remote devices disabled" (something like that) if it sits for an extended time. If battery gets too low, you should get the "deep sleep" notification. I got this once after detailing the car. Did you disable all notifications?

From my experience is that you have to check voltage after it has being at rest (no activity at all) for a couple hours to let battery voltage settle. After an activity (even a door opening since it triggers more than the door itself, the voltage will drop. Then it will mostly recover.

The dealer needs to do a load test on the battery. Deep discharges are not good for battery long term health (reduced capacity/life).

In total, the car sat for 13 days in garage. I didn’t try the PAAK yesterday as I thought the key would be safer. The car unlocked as I approached, I think. Or maybe I used key fob to unlock. Can’t remember which, but it did unlock. I also noticed that a reboot happened at some point, because the brake coach ( a hybrid thing) was back on, and I always have this off. It’s possible the reboot was happening when I tried to start the car the first time, which is why I didn’t see anything happen. The fact that I got no low battery notifications makes me think that there was still enough reserve power in the battery. But I don’t have any tools to measure the battery, so don’t really know its state. I do get phone notifications.

This morning using PAAK, everything seems back to normal.

On Facebook, there are multiple reports of battery related issues as of late. Lincoln must be going through a lot of imexpected battery replacements.

I have also been trying to rationalize why there has not been a software update yet and started wondering if the had to get the 2025 Nautilus and Aviator out and before final test for the 24 Nautilus update. I am sure Lincoln is taking advantage of the transit time for the 25 Nautilus in having to update software.

I have been driving my Dakota doing a lot hauling stuff from a second home so no time in Nautilus so after almost 2 weeks sitting the garage (all the drain software fixes applied), the battery has gone down from 12.6V to 11.66V. (all measurements with connected to car). Per SOC charts this is around 20%. I know the Nauti was in a reduced power state since when I pulled the hood handle (without fob) the keypad did not come on. It also did not do its enthusiastic welcome when I opened the door to pop the hood. It is back on the noco with the hope we will get the 3Q software fix (not many days left). In that state, it likely would have accepted an OTA update.

I plan to be back at the dealer in mid-October for oil, rotation, and recall and will ask to do a load test on battery. I do not think they fixed (if they ever will all the LONG term drain issues.

I purchased a 2024 Nautilus in August 2024 and recently had issues with the infotainment/dash screens reseting themselves. Visited the dealer and they had me do a hard reset of the system by 1) with engine running - hold down the volume button for ten seconds, then releasing, 2) fairly loud pop from the speakers, 3) watch the system reboot twice, 4) shut the engine off, 5) restart the engine after 10 seconds, 6) let the infotainment system start up. All good so far but had to reset any customized settings and radio stations. BTW, i could not get the system RESET options on the infotainment screen to do anything.

While at the dealer for the infotainment issue mentioned above, the dealer applied two service bulletin updates related to the battery drain issue. I was experiencing battery drain also. I don’t have the service bulletin numbers, however one was related to a brake component remaining active after engine shutoff, and the second was related to an electric window component that stays active following engine shutoff.

The trick is to turn the volume down all the way before the reset. It greatly reduces the loudness of that pop.

I am aware of 3 related to battery drain CSPs

VDM 24P14B - This apparently did not apply to my Premier
ABS 24P22B
Camera 24P08B

There was a safety recall related to window pinch issue but never heard it was also related to battery drain. CSP 24C24

I just noticed a new CSP in my dashboard on line, 24B54 update infotainment system. I have not check my vehicle yet. Is this perhaps the 3Q update we have been waiting for.

I see it too. It was not there earlier this morning. Haz has not posted anything yet either. He usually posts the details.

I don’t see anything in the Lincoln Way app, isn’t there supposed to be a notification there?

I'm seeing it in my online account on the 'Recalls' page of the Owner Dashboard. Historically the Lincoln Way app hasn't shown TSP/CSPs, only recalls.

I reached out to Haz to see what he can find on it.
