Open Letter to Lincoln - How I'd Improve the Nautilus

I would like to see
  • more themes (better IU designers) because they're pretty boring and don't take advantage of the screens. I hope next gen CarPlay is supported on the 24
  • more steering wheel adjustments I'm 6ft and can't seem to find a good position (either wheel is too high covering screen or wheel is low and too close to my thighs)
  • I would prefer a panoramic roof that doesnt slide open and tints instead

I can't agree more on the steering wheel adjustments/seat adjustments.... and would even go so far as to say, the entire driver side screen configuration needs to be vertically adjustable like what is available in most HUD systems.

The panoramic roof tilt position is very slight. It does let air in but not as much as the previous generation. It did save my interior though. I didn't realize it was open and it sat out all night in a rain storm. Not a drop of water got in.

Take care of your customers and they will take care of you.

Add tuning functionality to the glass volume knob. Move knob Left/Right for next preset, up/down for next station. Add a source select button to the right touchpad on the steering wheel. There are empty spaces available!

2020 Nautilus owner here in the Houston, TX area. It RAINS here! My vehicle is often parked outside when I attend programs, lunches, dinners, visit my children's homes, or visit family. Suddenly, I notice a glimmer on my backseat floorboards, so I put towels down to dry them. I call my dealership to bring it in and request a loaner. No loaner available for 4 WEEKS! It's difficult to accept that a 1-car household with a serious concern about my vehicle showing water intrusion, can't get a loaner from Lincoln for a month. Meanwhile, I've taken my vehicle in for service and always asked what else I should be doing. NOW i am hearing that IF it's from plugged up drains from sunroof, it's not covered; even though I also purchased Premium Extended Warranty. I am pouring over online owner manual and not finding anything about sunroof maintenance?

I'd like more flexibility with automatic headlight timer. My current choices are - None, 10 seconds, 20 seconds, 120 seconds.

20 seconds isn't enough and 120 seconds is too much.

60 seconds would be just about right for me.

I completely agree with gooberpass0911. These rather limited auto headlight time settings have been this way on Fords and Lincoln for many years. It makes no sense to have a gap from 20 seconds to 120 seconds. This isn't new to the 2024 Nautllus as this is carryover from many prior years,

I would also like to see longer range and a more prominent indicator.

Another thing that bugs me is that the edge of the side view mirror turn signal indicator is close enough to the blind spot warning light that I sometimes think "uh-oh" when I signal a lane change and see that flashing yellow light.
The blind spot warning should be a different color (red) and there should also be a audible beep, whenever you are trying to turn and there is a vehicle in your blind spot.

I drove my GLC 300 the other day and realized the blind spot warning light is shaped like a hazard symbol and it lights up red. No confusing it with turn signal.

Lol. The red blind side warning light on Mercs is one of my pet peeves about the brand.

Make the Favorites and Presets on SiriusXM the same. I finally figured out how to do both but why should I have to do that?
Agreed. I like having more than 30 presets but how hard would it be to just give us 60 concurrent presets across media instead of giving it to us separately? I like how GM does it - you can also do playlists, podcasts, and destinations as favorites - the favorites are agnostic to media/navigation.

Chevy has these options that I REALLY miss—Doors that lock as you walk away from the car. Digital rear view mirror that access to the camera. Better backup camera. Adjustable air flow and controls for the backseat. Cup holders in the door pockets.

I love my Nautilus, but would love to see these improvements. If they were standard on my 2018 Traverse, I don’t know why a Black Label would not have them.

When I think about why I purchased the Nautilus, besides have the interior cargo space I wanted with ride/noise, the clincher was the non plug in hybrid with below 7 sec 0 to 60 time with a 30mpg city mileage. A non plug in has to save a lot of weight.

My prior 07 MKZ could not get more than 25 to 27 on trips with a range of 400+ miles.

Lincoln executives have been watching this community for years. They've also made improvements to their vehicles based upon what they've read here. They are listening to you.

This discussion will serve as a quick and easy way for Lincoln executives to gauge interest and help make decisions moving forward.

As a Nautilus driver, you should state exactly what you'd like to see enhanced, added, and/or omitted from your Lincoln Nautilus.

Any posts that don't stick to the subject matter will be moved elsewhere.
Lincoln Forums is a fantastic format for vehicle improvement, which is needed in the programming of the 2024 Nautilus adaptive suspension system.
It's too bouncy by many accounts and my personal experience in ownership by allowing the cabin to move about instead of regulating wheel travel appropriately.
Although it is an alternative to air suspension the performance is sorely lacking that of a properly tuned luxury suspension. I now have spent $2K to replacement the 21 inch wheels/tires in the hope of getting an assemblance of the quality ride for which I purchased the Nautilus.
Thank you for your consideration.
