I actually think the mirrors are too small, but my bet is that once side cameras to replace mirrors are legal in the US, those two squarish screens(?) will be camera feeds....
Robert, I agree with you completely. I so wish I would have purchased a 2023 Nautilus. I had 7 of those models from the first one in 2006. They had been refined to near perfection. And that 2.7L twin-turbo V6 was superb. Thirty states have now passed regulations against distracted driving, and what does this car have -- the biggest distracted driving opererating system imaginable, when it works properly. Its worse than using any smartphone. Too many menus, functions buried several taps to find or find again whatever you want to control or change. Too many seconds not looking at the road and crazy drivers. The prior Nautilus models had the proper mix of touch-screen and actual buttons and knobs which are much easier to access and control when driving. The seat heat/cool controls are incredibly tiny. The steering wheel capacitive touch buttons I hate -- first touch and then slide your fingers around. The steering wheel radio forward/back buttons don't work as intended most of the time depending on what music source is displayed on the 11" screen, the silly way to control the air vents which reset after each restart just because Tesla and Rivian had these. I am constantly being nagged to keep my hands on the wheel even though both my hands are on the wheel. And heated steerring wheels have always had 360-deg heating completely around the wheel, but not this car -- two places don't have the heating elements. I could go on. I'll probably dump the car after a year or two. I hate myself almost daily for getting rid of my prior 2019 Nautilus and not buying one of the last 2023s.
I test drove both and RX350 and 350h last weekend. Def some noticeable differences and, believe it or not, most swayed in favor of the Nautilus. That said, I would probably still purchase a 350h (or even the 500h) but the trade they offered would have me taking a $16K hit in ~100 days.
That switch did not make a change in the map lights unfortunately.
My sedan days are behind me. I will consider the RX and TX (when the stop sales is lifted), but they will need to close the trade gap before I can even seriously consider.
Map lights stay on all the time. At night they are obnoxiously bright and no, I have not seen a way to effectively turn them down without also dimming other screens. I have had 8 BMW's over the years and they have orange map lights placed in exactly the same location -- they have never been so bright or so distracting. The ones in the Nautilus are badly designed.
