NCNautilus. You say you can dim the screen if you dim all the dash lights???
Map lights stay on all the time. At night they are obnoxiously bright and no, I have not seen a way to effectively turn them down without also dimming other screens. I have had 8 BMW's over the years and they have orange map lights placed in exactly the same location -- they have never been so bright or so distracting. The ones in the Nautilus are badly designed.

If I amusing the navigation for guidance at night then I can't dim the screen. Every car I have owned with nav you could dim the nav screen when I use, Is this another Lincoln Digital surprise?
I think this is a known issue. I had heard people talk about it but never really experienced it until this weekend. I have a new rattle that needs to be investigated, so I am scheduling another trip to the dealer this week. I'll mention this too.Hi NCNautilus. Map lights are not supposed to stay on all the time. If what you are describing are actually map lights and there is no on/off capability, then there is an issue or another software glitch with your vehicle which needs to be addressed.
Keep us updated and good luck.
I found an easy fix (until/if it gets corrected)...Map lights stay on all the time.
This is what I was looking for! Thank you.
Gents, I to agree. Having traded in our 22 Nautilus for the 24, we have experience many YES's and many NO's between the two UI interfaces alone.Robert, I agree with you completely. I so wish I would have purchased a 2023 Nautilus. I had 7 of those models from the first one in 2006. They had been refined to near perfection. And that 2.7L twin-turbo V6 was superb. Thirty states have now passed regulations against distracted driving, and what does this car have -- the biggest distracted driving opererating system imaginable, when it works properly. Its worse than using any smartphone. Too many menus, functions buried several taps to find or find again whatever you want to control or change. Too many seconds not looking at the road and crazy drivers. The prior Nautilus models had the proper mix of touch-screen and actual buttons and knobs which are much easier to access and control when driving. The seat heat/cool controls are incredibly tiny. The steering wheel capacitive touch buttons I hate -- first touch and then slide your fingers around. The steering wheel radio forward/back buttons don't work as intended most of the time depending on what music source is displayed on the 11" screen, the silly way to control the air vents which reset after each restart just because Tesla and Rivian had these. I am constantly being nagged to keep my hands on the wheel even though both my hands are on the wheel. And heated steerring wheels have always had 360-deg heating completely around the wheel, but not this car -- two places don't have the heating elements. I could go on. I'll probably dump the car after a year or two. I hate myself almost daily for getting rid of my prior 2019 Nautilus and not buying one of the last 2023s.
I think I agree with all of your observations! We've never had Lincolns before now, but have been through nearly all Fords made -- the sound dampening, overall soft ride, and styling of the 24 Nautilus really impresses -- I just wish they'd hurry and fix the little things that I have to believe are OTA updates, so I am not immediately angry as soon as I start the vehicle!Gents, I too agree. Having traded in our 22 Nautilus for the 24, we have experience many YES's and many NO's between the two UI interfaces alone.
Since we are in the South, the three things we use most often and have the most challenge with, both visually and physically, are controlling the MaxA/C, seat and cabin temperature controls. So, this weekend we tried using "Hey Google" instead of the center screen touch UI on a drive and found that these work as audible workarounds:
I am sure there are many more command that can or can't be used (a thread was started), but my main point was to find a workaround while Lincoln software teams, if they are listening, come up with some needed tweeks to the display visibility, sizing and touch useability for the entire HVAC interface.
- Max A/C -
- Hey Google: Turn Max A/C on - will turn on Max A/C setting
- Hey Google: Turn Max A/C of - will turn off Max A/C setting and return to previous setting
- Hey Google: Turn on seat cooler - will turn on drivers seat cooler
- Hey Google: Turn off seat cooler - will turn off drivers seat cooler
- Seat Coolers - (same can be used with seater control)
- Hey Google: Turn on passenger seat cooler - will turn on passenger seat cooler
- Hey Google: Turn off passenger seat cooler - will turn off passenger seat cooler
- Hey Google: Turn on both seat coolers - will turn on both driver and passenger seat coolers
- Hey Google: Turn off both seat coolers - will turn off drivers seat cooler
- Cabin Temperature -
- Hey Google: Set temperature to 72 degrees - will adjust both HVAC settings to 72
- Hey Google: Set driver temperature to 72 degrees - will adjust just driver side HVAC settings to 72
- Hey Google: Set passenger temperature to 72 degrees - will adjust just passenger side HVAC settings to 72
IMHO overall thoughts -
- Miss most of the tactile controls
- Way too small side mirrors
- Lit Lincoln front door plates - really surprised the marketing team signed off on this obvious cost cutting choice
- Taking away the dual door lock/unlock sensors on all doors and replacing with a tempermental touch lock/unlock door pillar on both sides
- Decision to only give BL models the lit rear gate Lincoln lettering badge
- Smaller center console lower storage cubby
- Great new place to display them - but way too few widgets for the right 24" screen, especially with a Hybrid I miss the MKZ power usage visual and want it back
- More background theme options
- Removal of key FOB remote start LED confirmation system but leaving the visual LED lense in place to tease us (that is the craziest of all cost cutting ideas, what could that cost)
- Towing capacity is only good for "carriers" and tiny trailers
- Love all the extra cargo and rear seat space improvements
- Dash enhancements, including the physical design that makes the whole front seating area visually more spacious
- Rear tailgate opening height improvement (don't miss banging my head on the hatch... have almost stopped ducking down with the new hatch... habit)
- Hybrid option (would have preferred a plugin, baby steps on the bus Bob!)
- Beautiful new exterior and interior styling
- BlueCruise and ACC refinement
- CarPlay like 2nd option when it comes to running apps in the car
- Build fit and function overall - 22 was not bad
- R2 wheels are stylish and still relatively easy to clean
- Enhanced air filtering and monitoring systems, scent delivery system
- Steering wheel contols touch information displayed on the pseudo HUD driver instrument panel, instead of having to look down at the wheel
- They kept the doughnut spare (even on the hybrid) and didn't force us to hope that the patching system and compressor work
- Not sure how, but the 24 rides even quieter than the 22
- Better MPG and overall extended range (due partially to the larger tank)
- Enhanced headlights and night time visibility
- Enhanced smoothness with the eCVT vs. conventional shift transmission
Again, all the above are just our thoughts, experiences and comparisons - your mileage may vary and objects in mirror are closer than they appear.

Yes, ditto! Great idea for a current and new pinned post?Great post, JMAB. Thank you for all of the hey google tips. I'd love to see more of those!

That's SO cool ! What was the whole phrase that worked? One thing I tried on my way home was asking Google to set the vents... It understands 'On Body' but doesn't understand 'In Motion' or 'Motion'.... Bummer.
So just did a test to confirm... It understands 'Body' as in 'On Body' but does not understand 'Off Body' or similar terms, nor 'Motion'. Her response is 'sorry I don't understand that command'. Based on this, I don't entirely trust it works with On Body. Shame... This would be a great mitigation to the need to shuffle through multiple layers on the touchscreen. Hopefully this can be addressed in an OTA update. That's SO cool ! What was the whole phrase that worked?
Did you try Off Body also or just On Body?
Sad to hear that Motion doesn't work, I love those with Max A/C to cool the whole front area and not have it constantly blowing in your face.
Thanks for this NC!
Thank you Al, as this is another important "control" option for most functions in the vehicle.I suggest a new thread for commands so we can have a list in one spot and moderated so it is just an organized summary.
I knew about the turn max ac on command but used "set temperatire to 72" to return to normal mode. I also could not motion to work via voice.
