I bought it out of state. In KY, when you buy a vehicle out of state, the local sheriff has to has certify the vehicle is in good running condition to register and get the title. Jeff Co KY sheriff has deemed the vehicle a public road hazard. They said if they allow me to register it and I, or someone else, get into an accident it opens them up to some liability. I don’t disagree with the public road hazard claim. In fact, I agree. I asked them if they would provide me anything stating that. VM, email, letter, etc

The Sgt, in charge, said he put my info into their system telling any location not to do anything with it. They won’t even fail it. They also refuse to provide me any documentation stating that. Public servants at their best. Refusing to help a tax payer. Basically told me to go kick rocks.
Thank you for the reply. I had never heard of that before. I'm not aware of anything like that here in Canada.

Waiting to see if my BL GT is subject to recall. Working fine so far. Built 11/8/21 or so. CarFax says it is recalled, but Lincoln hasn't notified me yet. Hopefully will know 04/18/22 when Lincoln says they will provide more info/Notification.

My wife has 2022 Aviator GT with 3,000 miles on. I bought it on 12/22 in Alabama. I drove it to KY the first day I had it. On the drive the battery never charged. Read 0 miles electric the whole drive, which I find odd.

The first time my wife got in the car she got the “full accessory power message” with a No-start, 545 miles on dash. No other messages. The car wouldn’t go into gear. It said it detected a fault in hybrid battery system. After 30mins the car started up without issue with no codes. (We googled the message and found another Ford forum that said let the car sit)

Local dealership took 3 weeks to get it in the shop. They said nothing was wrong and everything was up to date. Even though the vehicle said it detected a problem with the hybrid system. Week of Feb 1st.

Last Wednesday, while driving 70mph on the interstate the car turned off. Wife said if felt like someone turned the ignition off. Gas pedal was dead and she had to coast to a stop. The car popped up “Stop Safely Now” and “full accessory power” and would not restart. She waited 30mins again, like before, and still nothing. She tried the start button to no avail, tried to remote start it with the key (nothing). Car restarted with the phone as key app though. No messages showed after finally restarting.

Took the car back to Lincoln and they said they can’t find anything. They’ve had it a week and put 100 miles on it. The service manager took it home over the weekend as well.

I have filed complaints with the NHTSA and Lincoln.

Anybody else dealing with these issues and does anybody have a fix for it. This thing is a death trap.

Alex

Just happened to me this afternoon in our 2022 Aviator Hybrid GT with about 840 miles on it. I was only going about 20 mph. After several minutes, I was able to retart the car by locking the car while in it, and using the remote start function on the keyfob. I was out of commission for several minutes. I just sent an email to my dealer along with a link to your post. Iwill follow-up. Thank you for your post - it pointed me in the right direction.

When was your GT built? Before 12/13/21. Is it potentially part of the recall for charge port bus issue?

don't know the exact build date but at the moment, I have been advised not to remote start the car while it is plugged in. I had been doing this given our very cold mornings in Minneapolis and the remote start while plugge in may be part of the charge port bus issue. Thanks for your note.

This just happened to my wife in our 2020 BL GT. Just shut off on the highway. Third time we’ve had to take ours in for issues. Only has 9400 miles and has already had an engine replacement, CPU replacement, and now this. Techs said they couldn’t figure out what caused it and couldn’t replicate so they want us to pick it up. Asked for the OASIS report but haven’t received it yet.

My new Aviator Plug in hybrid GT with only 145 miles stopped on freeway with sign ' Stop Safely Now'. Then engine quit. After about 35 min delay while we transferred bags to another car, the car started up again, but I'm having towed to the dealer. I see another owner also had similar problem.

Yep. Same issue in the GT Deathtrap we’ve seen here. I think there was a recall about this, but are you going to start a buyback instead?

This is sooooo disappointing hearing this as a retired engineer. I'm sorry for your grief there. That's just wrong.

Maybe related to recall 22S19 for the PHEV charge plug bus bar.

My BL GT has a recall for this and is going to dealer next week. So far no problems.

Just before taking the delivery a couple of weeks back, the dealer said there was a recall related to charging system and cannot sell it until that part is replaced, and so they did in about 10 days. I am presuming that it was the bus bar they replaced. I have taken one step at a time. I took the vehicle back to the dealer to check it, now waiting to hear back in a 2-3 days.

There is already a thread on this issue. I will ask the admin to merge them.

Same issue just happened to my wife today while driving down the highway at 75. Engine shut off and Stop Safely Now appeared leaving her stranded on the shoulder for about 30 minutes.

Going to contact the dealership in the morning as I no longer feel safe knowing how many others have experienced this and were not given a resolution.

I feel so bad for all you folks with this issue. I've been a Lincoln/Ford fan all my life for various positive reasons - but what they've put all of you through with this garbage is totally inexcusable. Remember when the 1976 Chrysler midsize - was it the Volare? - got run out on the public to do their testing (rather than the controlled manufacturer systems in place)? Inexcusable. I'm unfortunately glad I chose not to get the hybrid although I did not entertain it.

Lincoln owes every one of you some compensation for their TOTAL lack of testing. This is 100% on Lincoln and should not happen in today's world. My heart bleeds for all of you.

I'll be 100% honest with you. This whole experience was a nightmare for me and my family. I asked Lincoln repeatedly to buy the car back. I flat out begged them too at one point. I told the supervisor the story of what was going on and how my 3 children, all under the age of 10, were in the car terrified. She was crying after I finished telling her our experiences. Lincoln still refused to even say there was an issue. They called me and said I needed to pick the car up.

I sent Ford General Council 3 separate certified letters regarding the issues. I never even received a confirmation letter from them acknowledging receipt. These people have no souls or compassion for humanity.

It took both of my Senators and my Congressman to get Ford to acknowledge me and buy the car back. One of my local news channels ran a 6pm story on our issues. Ford wouldn't even provide a statement to them. Ford has two plants here in Louisville as well. It's not like I live in an area of the country where Ford doesn't have reps.

We finally settled with Ford. They had the gall to try and charge me "usage fee's" in their offers. I absolutely refused to let Ford take the car back and push it on some unsuspecting family. They were required to brand the title as a "non-conforming buy-back". I couldn't prevent them form selling it but at least my conscience is clear for whomever bought the car. They know 100% Ford bought it back and it has serious issues

I am not familiar with the criteria, but shouldn't there have been an almost immediate recall on this?
