I was supposed to pick up my new 23 Aviator 2 weeks ago today but was told Lincoln had halted sales of all affected inventory until the 360 camera issue could be resolved. Dealer is still unable to provide any information on when that’ll happen - was wondering if anybody here has heard any news regarding where they’re at in the process?

This has been brought up before. 2020—2023 Ford Explorer® SUV Safety Recall 23S02 On Hold
I haven't heard anything more on it and am anxious to get more info since I have a 2023 Aviator being held up by this recall. As mentioned in the other thread, there are more than 9,000 vehicles sitting in parking lots awaiting this fix. Dealers can't sell the vehicles they have in stock nor can they take in trade-ins if they fall under this recall. All shipping has also stopped.

Peter

It seems ridiculous that it's holding up your delivery.

... nor can they take in trade-ins if they fall under this recall....
Is this a fact? I didn't think it mattered on trade ins. They just can't resell them (yet)

That is what the manager of my dealership told me last week. Although my current one is a lease, it actually comes into play when the contract is signed for the lease on the 2023 because of its built-up equity.

Well I guess I'll find out if my dealer won't be able to take in my '22 Corsair as I trade it on my '23 Corsair later this week. My '22 is currently under the 360 camera recall while the '23 is not under any recalls. My '23 was supposed to be delivered to the dealer on Friday (June 2nd) but hadn't arrived by EOB. As soon as it is delivered I'll complete the deal (or not if they can't take my '22 until the fix is available). I'll let you know.

The recall affects the Aviator, Nautilus, Corsair and Explorer. Because of this, there is a Stop sale/ship order on the affected models.

Know the recall was picked up by every news outlet but find it strange that the press hasn’t picked up on the stop ship/sale

Hi Paul. I'm also surprised that Ford Authority hasn't mentioned anything either. They are usually a good source for info on anything to do with Ford.

Hey Peter. I really feel sorry for the Lincoln dealers and more specifically the salespeople. We’ve become good friends with the new car sales manager and our salesman at Ray Pearman Lincoln in Huntsville where we do business and the stop sale has got to be financially devastating for them - they have 4 models they can sell normally but right now they’re down to 2.

Yeah, blame the Feds as much as Ford.
Ford, geez, software, fix it. I get there is probably some stupid approval process, but come on.
Feds, mandating back up cameras in the first place. I know of other vehicles that got recalled to reprogram the back up camera, just to comply with the Fed "must show reverse camera when putting in Reverse (Jeep/Volvo I know for a fact), EVEN IF YOU MANUALLY CHOOSE 360 VIEW FIRST, like if you are around trees or something, or choose a side view intentionally, it must go to the rear camera, then you have to choose again.
Like mandating rear window defrosters, and TPMS, come on, stop voting these people in.
I had cars with all of this stuff, long before they were mandated, because I CHOSE to, not because some bureaucrat told me to.

Amen, brother! Preach on!
Couldn’t agree more - I’m 57 and have to wonder how I survived my childhood riding my bike without my government mandated helmet 😉

Well, I'm only a couple older, and back in 1978 I spent 2 weeks in a hospital from a bicycle accident. BUT, all facial stuff, nothing a helmet would have helped with.

Expect a knock on your door, you sound like an extremist.

Worst thing was to jump a chain while pedaling really hard that drop to the cross bar......well, that hurt.

The boomers have arrived.
Also, check your math,at 57 @PaulinAL is not a Boomer... (I technically am, but at the tail end of the 18 year range, realistically it is mainly more for the late 1940s to mid 1950s.)
