2024 Nautilus software and battery issues

What about resale value?
Will 2024 issues also affect the resale value of prior year Nautilus's?
In a year's time, all of these issues will have been resolved and no one will remember them.

We'll carry them like battle wounds. Serves us right. We just had to be first on the block. Lol.

I wonder if they'll port the ability to do a direct complaint on a problem seen available to the '24 Nautilus? See "You Can Now Complain Directly to Ford Engineers from Your Car": MSN

(The article describes it as being in Sync 4/4A vehicles, but would be useful on the Nautilus if it isn't already buried in the SW applets somewhere)

Mine is going in tomorrow for the fuel injector replacement. I’m guessing they aren’t going to mention anything about the battery fix unless I bring it up.

They are supposed to apply the battery fixes when the car is already in the shop for another reason. But I would ask them to do it. My dealer needed 3 days to get my fuel injectors, shock absorbers, and all software updates done. They had a real tough time to get the big software update to start, but eventually they figured it out. This may have been due to a Training issue. Who knows.

Most people don’t want to believe me on this, but I’m convinced the battery drains if the key fob is anywhere near the vehicle. Put it in a Faraday box or store it 30 feet away from the car. That was the results of my testing. Perhaps not all cars behave this way.

Battery Dead issue for me as well, happened on Saturday 6/1/2024, got the car mid Feb and it has 5000 miles. It just went dead. I purposely keep my keys in my bedroom so the car doesn't flash all night long. I also have the motion detector turned off so it doesn't flash all night long. Tow company was able to jump the vehicle and I drove it straight to the dealership on Sunday. I'm sure they are diagnosing the issue.

So I had my battery replaced 2 weeks ago and software updated?? Now more software bugs showing up. For instance while driving on the highway with my hands on the wheel I occasionally get the message "keep your hands on the wheel". then sometimes I get a message "low washer fluid". just filled it 2 weeks ago and use it sparingly. Then today I get in the car start it up and get a totally blank screen from the map screen all the way to the right. Then the screen returned 15 minutes later. Baffling. I'm taking in tomorrow and telling the dealer I don't want the car back until these issues are fixed. This is getting very annoying. Software bugs should have been resolved prior to releasing the vehicle.

For all those experiencing battery issues, this is by no means the only vehicle that has that issue. Gen 5 RX came out in '23. They quickly came out with a TSB: https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2023/MC-10244125-9999.pdf which you'll notice they had to update for the '24.

The Lexus Gen 5 continue to have battery drain issues both hybrid and, it appears, straight ICE Dead 12v battery Incident - ClubLexus - Lexus Forum Discussion and overall Gen 5 Dead Battery - ClubLexus - Lexus Forum Discussion

When I say Lincoln at least appears to be trying to work the issue, tamping down the parasitic drains via SW updates, that's something Lexus has been VERY slow to work on, best I can tell, at halfway into the second MY of the platform.

(I've been a fan of Lexus, 5 RX since initial introduction, happy with my current Gen 4 '17, but their Gen 5 has been a mess. They haven't had an injector tip issue, but have had on-going transmission issues (requiring up to full transmission replacements). They've had fit/finish issues resulting in misc. shouldn't-be-occurring noises. Software updates are a bit of a running joke. The Gen 5 has been what got me searching for an alternate - very happy I came across the updated Nautilus.)

You might try rebooting (10 seconds on volume knob) and trying it out for a while before taking it back in. I too was getting the hands on the wheel message way to frequently and mostly unwarranted. The way to avoid it completely is by turning off the lane centering. I now only use lane centering if running in adaptive cruise control or Blue Cruise, otherwise I turn it off to avoid the keep hands on wheel message.

This is what drove me to the Nautilus as well. I have never personally owned a Lexus, but my partner is obsessed. I wanted an RX or the new GX. Went and saw the new GX in dealer and hated the interior, did some research on RX and wasn’t too happy with what I saw. 😅. Maybe later. :)

FINALLY - car back today after 33 days! New battery has been well tested & assured it is holding at 100%. Finally dealership managed to get a battery from another dealer (I believe Lincoln helped on that) shipped 5/6 & back today. Fingers crossed for no more issues.
Spoke too soon -car towed back to dealership yesterday .. another dead battery after just 3 weeks. Welcome lights not working over prior 2 days, screens very slow to start & like last time I kept getting' rear washer fluid low' indicator, then the black screens & no access. Jump started to get it towed. FOB never left near it. Dealership could not do the infotainment upgrade when new battery was put in last time even at 100% charged & said it needed more miles on it first. Frustrated is an understatement!

I'm not certain why your dealer told you it needed more miles. Newly built vehicles were held and updated prior to delivery that had very little miles on them. I would contact the Lincoln Concierge and get them involved. There are major software updates for the infotainment system and 2 software updates that specifically target battery drain.

I'm thinking your dealer didn't want to tie up service bays. I'd search out another dealer if there is one in your area.

I recently purchased a 2024 Lincoln Nautilis the dealer told me I was the first one in the state of Florida to take possession of the car. Within a few days they called me back to update the software for no particular reason and then within a week of that my battery went dead. I took it in for service, and it went dead again, I took it in for service another time and it continued to drain after they replaced it with a brand new battery now they’re trying to load software to monitor what’s happening to the car and the car won’t accept the software they’re trying to download into my new vehicle my car is only six weeks old I haven’t been able to drive it for three weeks. Has anybody else been having similar software and battery issues?
We have had the same issues with our 2024 Nautilus Hybrid, It went into the dealer after a week for an update, then the battery went dead , I thought I left the car on and drained the battery so I put a battery charger on it all night and it seemed to work for a few weeks. Then one morning the battery was dead again and I had an engine service light on the dash, so I took it to the Dealer, the Dealer said the car needs a new battery, they have recalls on the car, and there has been information that our vehicle is part of an injector recall, The dealer is telling us there are issues with parts and a lack of technicians trained to fix the problem. After a week of excuses I will be visiting the Dealer tomorrow to get an update and a plane of action.

Saw another 2024 Nautilus site on Facebook. Some of the owner's comments are scary, and it seems these issues are more widespread than we think. In fact a surprising number have already returned their vehicle back to Lincoln because of the dealer's inability to fix the issues. My opinion is right now there is no permanent fix to all the software issues right now. Seems like one issue is solved by a software update and another issue pops up. Not a good look for Lincoln. I'm sure we'll see a lot more CSP's being issued

According to numerous posts on several different forums dealers were sent seed stock that would support injector replacements for every vehicle they had sold up to the service bulletin as well as inventory sitting on their lots. Changing the injectors shouldn't require any special training. One person posted the dealer did mobile service to replace their injectors and it took less than an hour.

There are several software updates that do take some time. If you don't get any satisfaction from your service department I recommend calling the Lincoln Concierge and getting them involved at least to document your issues. 800-521-4140

The ones I saw were the blank screens that seemed most concerning. It can be combinations of different levels software or jumping levels causing issues if not testing all possible upgrade scenarios.

I bought a 2024 Lincoln Corsair Hybrid on 01/30/2024 to be towed behind my RV - I was guaranteed the vehicle was flat towable. After I had the tow hitch installed, the software does not engage the neutral tow feature. 6 months later - Lincoln will not even talk to me - after numerous phone calls requesting information - I was told that Lincoln will resolve the software problem in the 4th quarter 2024. Meanwhile - I am out of traveling with my RV. What is really upsetting - no word from Lincoln at all - it is as I do not exist.

Hi bobcurry426 and welcome to the Lincoln Forums. I understand your frustration about not being contacted back. However, perhaps I am misunderstanding what the actual problem is...In the meantime, why can't you simply manually engage "always in neutral" via the Owners Manual instructions for flat towing, in order to flat tow for now?

Good luck.
