2023 Corsair orders, build dates

I did my cars.com search for 2023 Corsairs and now I find 77 listed. A couple of weeks ago it was just over 50. BUT none have real dealer photos. They are all based on stock Lincoln photos. When a dealer receives one, I hope they will publish real photos. Then we will know they exist in the wild.

Are there not any Louisville plant workers following our frustration here that could verify if they are back to work yet? Please speak up.
The CIA should be able to keep secretes as well as Ford does the status of the Louisville plant. FYI, my favorite CIA is the Culinary Institute of America.

Blue Oval News use to a great source of info. Ford legal got involved because some of the info shared was secret kinda. Or things they did not want the public to know.
So they changed name to Blue Oval Forums and now it's nothing more than bunch of people complaining.

Example, you are not allowed to take any pictures of cars being assembled in the plant. One can be fired for this. Even current model year.

The never-ending story. Looked at Lincon build and track this am. My Vehicle info was updated on 3/15/2023. The build week is now blank. Probably not a good sign.
On a positive note I have a vehicle to drive.

This was in today's Ford Authority. Picking up a '23 Corsair in dealer's stock sounds as elusive as catching a Leprechaun on Friday! How is it there is an "Incentive" on something that apparently doesn't exist? 🤔

LINCOLN CORSAIR INCENTIVE OFFERS 3.9 PERCENT FINANCING IN MARCH 2023

A Lincoln Corsair incentive offers low-interest financing across the board in March 2023, dependent on market and trim level. Meanwhile, a Lincoln AFS Red Carpet Lease deal is also available in certain markets. It’s important to note that all of this month’s incentive offers are exclusively applicable toward the 2023 Corsair, and exclude 2022 model year vehicles.
  • Must take delivery from an authorized Lincoln dealer’s stock by April 3rd, 2023, unless specified otherwise.

I am no attorney, but in the world we live. in could this viewed as false advertising?

Heck someone is suing Buffalo Wild Wings because their boneless chicken wings are really wings....really???

Had a frustrating call from my Lincoln salesman this morning. He's a good guy and I do believe he's giving me honest information, at least as good as he's being told. He said he continues to track my 2023 order every Thursday and so far no VIN has been issued (this I knew) and that so far no 2023 orders from dealers have been built. He said a Lincoln rep said they haven't started the Production line back yet as things are "on hold", no explanation of why. Furthermore, he told them he needed some info as to when I could possibly see my order in Production since my '22 GT order took 11 months (Feb '22 to Jan '23) to be built, was delivered after Jan 1 and that I didn't take it for that reason. He was told they have "no idea of timing and that they are concentrating on building the Escape orders first, as they take less production content (parts). Surprisingly, my '22 GT order is still in their inventory for sale. I expressed surprised it wasn't snatched up and his reply was "well it was fully loaded (as is my '23 order) and honestly there doesn't seem to be much interest in it anymore"! I asked if he's still having any customers place anymore '23 orders and he said the order cycle is closed, they can't place any. He then told me they had 2 other customers place orders for '23 models and that was it.
Now my quandary is, do I wait potentially 11 months again or should I bite the bullet and start shopping a Lexus NX PHEV or Volvo XC60 PHEV, or BMW X5 PHEV? Hate to abandon American companies and American made but enough is enough if they can't deliver. At least if I decide on BMW they are made here and qualify for the tax incentive.

Maybe your salesperson should say no new vin's have been issued. My VIN and Window sticker were available in December 2022.

Orginal build week was Jan 9th, 2023

Hi LinkedMe. Depending on how quickly I needed the vehicle and other variables, I know what I would do. However, only you know your particular situation and can decide the answer to that question.

My one bit of advice before you switch, would be to do a lot of research into how long those other vehicles choices are realistically taking, from factory order to delivery. And be sure you can order one exactly as you would like as far as color, options etc., and not have to settle for something less that they have in stock or "expect to come in soon". That is a favorite sales trick of some import brand Dealerships, since true "factory orders" are not always a viable option. Obviously do not take the word of the sales staff.

You may be better off switching if you need it fast...or...you may be jumping from the frying pan into the fire, as they say.

Let us know how you make out and good luck. ;)

Forgot, was yours a GT (PHEV)?

Well the Concierge told me, personally, a week ago, that the VIN is established when the Plant feels all materials and options will be available (NOT necessarily are available) to get it on a Production schedule. They said the volume of sales from the dealership isn't factored in, it's based on configuration, options, exterior colors, interior colors etc. I had every available option picked for the GT except the larger wheels. I asked if the Concierge could determine what might be the holdup (maybe if it was color I'd go with choice #2) but their reply was "there's no way to determine that information". Go figure???

No a reserve. When the window sticker was generated I received the dealer invoice showing my A/Z plan pricing. MSRP = 60K A/Z plan = 54K

Just to see what happens I did submit an orders for a GT end of December. Nothing on that one yet.

All good points. You're right, but I won't be jumping from the frying pan into the fire. Ive learned over the years to not get my arse burned!
My 2016 Lincoln MKX is running fine but being in the market for going on two years doesn't scratch my new car itch! If I do switch to another brand it would be predicated on getting exactly what I want with the upfront awareness to the dealership that whatever brand can deliver what I want/need will be the one I go with. If they too promise the moon but don't deliver, then they lose that sale too.

I will probably get banned from this forum for saying this, but also consider the Audi Q5 PHEV as it is also built in North America and therefore qualifies for the first half of the tax credit.

Do you have to put a down payment on the other brands? If you could order another one and just take whatever comes in first that is what I would do. My salesman wouldn’t care either way. They need cars to sell, so it’s not like they will be stuck with it. I wasn’t sure on my color and he said if it comes in and I don’t like it not to worry about it. He will order me another one.

Yes, that could be a possibility too except it gets even less electric range than the Lincoln, and it costs more. At least the others get better range (while still costing more)

Thats the only way I would do it, a fully refundable deposit. I've done that before and only ran into one incident where a dealership dragged their heels on processing the refund so I just contested it with the credit card company, problem solved.

If you contact a Concierge again ask if they will supply your priority code. A #2 means you are next n line if all the parts and equipment are available. Much like your original post. If still a 10 or 11 you have a while yet.
