Maybe your salesperson should say no new vin's have been issued. My VIN and Window sticker were available in December 2022.Had a frustrating call from my Lincoln salesman this morning. He's a good guy and I do believe he's giving me honest information, at least as good as he's being told. He said he continues to track my 2023 order every Thursday and so far no VIN has been issued (this I knew) and that so far no 2023 orders from dealers have been built. He said a Lincoln rep said they haven't started the Production line back yet as things are "on hold", no explanation of why. Furthermore, he told them he needed some info as to when I could possibly see my order in Production since my '22 GT order took 11 months (Feb '22 to Jan '23) to be built, was delivered after Jan 1 and that I didn't take it for that reason. He was told they have "no idea of timing and that they are concentrating on building the Escape orders first, as they take less production content (parts). Surprisingly, my '22 GT order is still in their inventory for sale. I expressed surprised it wasn't snatched up and his reply was "well it was fully loaded (as is my '23 order) and honestly there doesn't seem to be much interest in it anymore"! I asked if he's still having any customers place anymore '23 orders and he said the order cycle is closed, they can't place any. He then told me they had 2 other customers place orders for '23 models and that was it.
Now my quandary is, do I wait potentially 11 months again or should I bite the bullet and start shopping a Lexus NX PHEV or Volvo XC60 PHEV, or BMW X5 PHEV? Hate to abandon American companies and American made but enough is enough if they can't deliver. At least if I decide on BMW they are made here and qualify for the tax incentive.

All good points. You're right, but I won't be jumping from the frying pan into the fire. Ive learned over the years to not get my arse burned!Hi LinkedMe. Depending on how quickly I needed the vehicle and other variables, I know what I would do. However, only you know your particular situation and can decide the answer to that question.
My one bit of advice before you switch, would be to do a lot of research into how long those other vehicles choices are realistically taking, from factory order to delivery. And be sure you can order one exactly as you would like as far as color, options etc., and not have to settle for something less that they have in stock or "expect to come in soon". That is a favorite sales trick of some import brand Dealerships, since true "factory orders" are not always a viable option. Obviously do not take the word of the sales staff.
You may be better off switching if you need it fast...or...you may be jumping from the frying pan into the fire, as they say.

Do you have to put a down payment on the other brands? If you could order another one and just take whatever comes in first that is what I would do. My salesman wouldn’t care either way. They need cars to sell, so it’s not like they will be stuck with it. I wasn’t sure on my color and he said if it comes in and I don’t like it not to worry about it. Yes, that could be a possibility too except it gets even less electric range than the Lincoln, and it costs more. At least the others get better range (while still costing more)
Thats the only way I would do it, a fully refundable deposit. I've done that before and only ran into one incident where a dealership dragged their heels on processing the refund so I just contested it with the credit card company, problem solved.
If you contact a Concierge again ask if they will supply your priority code. A #2 means you are next n line if all the parts and equipment are available. Much like your original post. If still a 10 or 11 you have a while yet.
