I agree with you but hovering at low charge is not good for getting full life from even from an AGM. After I started using the noco, I believe it was the first time the battery had been at full charge in a long time and. Obviously at a lower charge, a parasitic drain on top of the normal drain, itcan take it down quickly.
 
I have had my 2024 Nautilus RII for a month now, 500 miles, and my issue first started with the complete dash blank with only the Brake waring lamp showing on the 48" screen. Car would still start but you could tell the parking brake needed a boost of the accelerator pedal to get it moving. Parked it in the garage with plans to take it to the dealer the next day. Later that evening I got notification in the Lincoln Way app that car was entering deep sleep mode. Next morning car was completely dead. Contacted Lincoln road side assitance and had car towed in. Jumped right off when tow guy arrived and full dash was back up. Dealer contacted me shorlty after lunch to let me know an update was performed. Repair order called it the Anti-Lock Brake module update to prevent battery drain. 12V battery was not replaced, I was told it tested good. Took an 80 mile round trip to make sure battery could recharge as much as the system would allow. Vehicle was built on 5/21/24 but not delivered to dealer until 8/16/2024. I took delivery later that day so I am thinking someone didn't check to see if the battery drain update had been done. Really hoping this fixes the problem because so far I really do like this vehicle.

This led me to a question that I have not yet been able to find the answer to. On previous vehicles (non-piano key gear selector) there was always a spot to insert a screwdriver or similar item to allow the movement of the gear selector so the vehicle could be moved with a totaly dead system. Is this possible on the 2024 Nautilus?

When I picked up my 24 Nautilus I found in the glove compartment and yellow envelope. Inside was a little gizmo similar to the thing that used to open sardine cans. The sales lady had no idea what it was. I put it back in the envelope and put it together with all the paperwork. Next day I found the envelope empty. The Thing must have slipped out. That's when I found out that The Thing is used in case the vehicle needs to be towed.

Thanks for the info. Must be a hole somewhere that it would go in. I’m going to check with the dealership to see if they know the answer.

I do see this, though the video shows what appears to be an Aviator. I am going to check this out on my 2023 Naut....

The key described by @Fuzzy John is for an ICE vehicle. You never said, do you have an ICE or hybrid? For the ICE, that key is used for disengaging the transmission, but the vehicle should not be flat towed.

For the hybrid, the manual in one place says to use a neutral tow button on the central display, and another place says to use the piano key neutral button twice. But regardless, the battery must good to perform this. Please check the owners manual for all the precautions.

Keep in mind that the Hybrid has an eCVT which does not have a Neutral … the wheels and the ICE are always connected thru the planetary gear set. So, as I Understand it, when towing, the 12v system must power the computer network to control the small motor generator to turn at a speed to keep the ICE stationary.

That makes sense. You must turn the ignition on, enable neutral tow, and turn ignition off, but maintain a healthy battery. There's also limitations on speed and distance, and they want you to cycle the eCVT through it's gears every 6 hours.

I am having more problems with my battery. The first issue was in June and I had a dead battery in the morning before work. My 2024 Reserve III has really never been the same. A few weeks later the 48" screen went black and the APIM module had to be replaced. 5 weeks in the shop! I regret ever buying the Nautilus. Got a battery deep sleep message yesterday. Now my key free feature no longer works and oddly the RPM display is absent. I think these problems are indicitive of a bigger problem..I typically have a weird issue with this vehicle once a week. Also - I am not able to have a phone conversation without calls being dropped mid-conversation only to come back 15 seconds later. This is a new problem after the APIM module was replaced. Any advice on the battery? Bringing the POS to the shop on 10/9. I am nervous that they will have it for weeks again before fixing it!
 
Nautilus purchased in Denver drove to Kansas. 1350 miles. day 19 of ownership mid morning vehicle would not respond to key fob. Battery when tested 7.4 volts. Phone app said control module experienced early power drop. 2nd message PCM experienced hi voltage surge.
Used battery charger to restore voltage levels to 13.4 from the engine compartment jumper points. Nautilus started and ran.
Day 20 of ownership vehicle would not respond to key fob. Used battery jump to start and take vehicle to dealer.
Day 25 of ownerships dealer said a new 12 volt battery would be installed. Maybe I get to drive it today!!?
 
My conclusion is if you have one dead battery event the battery is walking the green mile.

My question is if anyone had a battery die for the first time after having the three battery drain fixes. The question would be are there more fixes needed.

Battery installed. no other issue 3 hours later!
Dealer speculated bad cell. Again dealer reading volts 10.1, 7.4 never 12.2? When the technician started to evaluate

There are many dealers are selling vehicles with outstanding fixes available. There have been 8 fixes at this level available, with 6 being software and some of these can affect battery performance.

A good fully charged battery (at rest, no load) should be around 12.7V.

Any idea who makes Motorcraft batteries?

Wondering - was this a "first build"?
 
These comments tell me the late '24 builds are no better than the early '24 builds as far as software issues related to the battery. All these updates have not solved all the problems and I suspect additional problems will crop up going forward. Poorly engineered software from the get-go. Now Lincoln is scrambling. I have had my Reserve II Hybrid back to the dealer 6 times already, 1 time for the injector replacement and the other 5 for software issues. It appears fixed now, we'll see. Vehicle is 6 months old with 4,500 miles

I have just over 2,000 miles on my dec 23 built hybrid and have never had a battery issue
 
RIII hybrid about to hit 9000 miles, built 11/14/23 and still no battery issues.
