2024 Hybrid Nautilus (Engine Problems)

I'm curious as to what the CEL was flagging. It could have been something as simple as a tech forgetting to connect something after the PDI. Wait and see what they say.
Engine Misfire is about all I know... My service writer has been very vague and I am really starting to get annoyed with his communications and what sells like BS for almost 2 weeks now.

When I was at the dealer today and talked to the salesman. He remembered me griping about the injector issue and said after I called about it they had one hybrid die with someone at the dealer was driving it- new engine.

This is so strange. After Lincoln went through the trouble to push seed stock of injectors to dealers that had hybrids and then all of a sudden out of stock you wonder what happened. I would have assumed there were plenty of injectors at other dealers. Judging from comments here since I do not think there was a general rush (dealers or owners) to get them replaced except for us on the forums.

I don't think there is a rush. We had our hybrid Nautilus in service for screen and tailgate computer issues and the advisor nonchalantly said there is a recall and they replaced the injectors while it was there. He said that it had something to do with some Nautilus batches sitting at the port overseas and rusting or some mumbo jumbo.

I recalled reading these cars had some type of issues which is why I'm back on this forum reviewing these threads.

Mine died the very next morning after delivery. 1 month later they have finally informed me that the fuel rail and injectors need replacing... Duh!! I love the vehicle but the bad experience is the worst ever for me!!

Many people who have the injector failure have added damage to the rest of the engine as a result. Be cautious that they have fully explored the entire engine for damage.

Lets hope so since they have had it for an entire month. I felt like I got such the run around even after I mentioned the Injector issue after my research but I am not sure what took them so long to come up with the eventual diagnosis that it was the injector and fuel rail. I also found out today that my Good Faith review that I submitted through Lincoln was denied so I guess I will just have to put faith in the repair and that it will take care of this issue. I have done a few searches and have not seen anything negative so far (fingers crossed). My dealership has offered to waive the first month payment and have promised some other surprises, but we shall see. I really love the Nautilus and did alot of research before making such a big purchase for my Black Label model but apparently I missed this issue!! :) Thank God for this Platform and all the friendly feedback. Have a great weekend!!

I’ve seen mention of checking the VIN to see if they are on the list with this issue…is that something only a dealer can check or is there a link to it somewhere?

Check your state’s lemon law. In NJ the auto company has 20 days to fix the issue and then you can invoke the lemon law. After you notify them they have 10 days or the have to busy it back and give you a full refund

What is a Good Faith review? Is it a formal process?
Yes, it was initiated by my Lincoln Case Manager and would have stated the buy back or exchange process. He wouldn't tell me why it was denied even though I have been without my new car for almost a month now. We shall see what this coming week brings with them replacing the injectors and fuel rail.

If your vehicle was in the affected VIN range, you should have received a letter and would show up in your My Lincoln app/website as needed. Dealers were not supposed to deliver affected VINs without update but we know some did.

I wanted to update the forum here on the latest to my ongoing Saga with my new 2024 Natulis Black Label purchase. I waited until the afternoon to finally call my dealers Service Dept to get an update on the Injector and Fuel Rail replacement. The good news was that this seemed to resolve the Engine Misfire and the codes that were being thrown, however I was informed that they are now being advised by someone at Lincoln that they need to replace the fuel pump!! WTF!! I asked the question on why the fuel pump replacement but I am not sure I understood the actual reason why. This is supposed to take place tomorrow and if this doesn't resolve the issues and I don't get my new vehicle back after 34 days now I will be contacting legal representation to go the VA. Lemon Law route. Any input or advise from anyone here will be greatly appreciated. My patience is wearing thin and I don't know what else to do but enuff is enuff! Thanks for letting me vent. 😂

It sounds to me like your issue has been with the dealer more than the vehicle.

Huh? A brand new Nautilus that throws codes the very next day after purchase? I would say it is both but not really understanding your response.

My response?

There's others on here who had the same misfortune as you, injector failure on the drive home. I'm not sure what circumstances created this issue exactly, but I'm short this part cannot handle the higher pressure of the hybrid system.

Did someone forget to swap stock when the line switched over from ICE to hybrid? Did the person who sourced the parts not notice the difference in specs? Did the supplier make the mistake? The fact that same engine in both versions uses different parts open the door to someone making a mistake.

Does this mistake make the car a piece of crap? Does it change the styling, the ride, the tech, the quietness, or fine balance of performance vs MPG?

Lincoln responded as quickly as could be expected. After deliveries started in Match, the issue was noted, investigated, and new parts were made available to dealers within 3 months.

What did your dealer do about it? Nothing, it seems. They sold you a vehicle that should have had the fix applied. Sure, there's a chance it wouldn't fail. Some drove thousands of miles without an issue. But regardless, your dealer either knew or should have known a fix was available to them at no cost. But they sold you a ticking bomb. And now weeks afterward, are still fiddling with the car. My guess is there was engine damage but the dealer is either unable to adequately diagnose the extent of the failure or is somehow reluctant to repair it.

TLDR; Several people in here have been in your circumstances and the dealer acted quickly and appropriately. Your dealer hasn't.

Call the concierge service and tell them you want Lincoln to buy back the car. If they agree it will take about 2 months and they should supply a loaner

Thank you for all of that detail and I am tracking with you now.
