2024 delivery schedule

I've been monitoring the progress of my BMWs, Audis and Porsches crossing the Atlantic for close to 20 years, but you guys are at a whole different level! It's awesome!!
You should have seen us when we were tracking our own ships. We actually were tracking the tugboats being used.

Those AI-generated 3D simulations of the docking and unloading were pretty cool. 😎

When it's on rail the status will be 'On Rail'. I can't say for 100% about waiting in Portland. Even though mine was there for three weeks, I never got a VINView that showed the status. However, my vehicle did say 'On the road' while sitting idle in Shanghai waiting for a boat. So I imagine it would said 'On the road' while sitting idle in Portland waiting for a train. You may want to scan the VINView uploads that have been posted on this thread.

It does sound to me like your vehicle was loaded onto a train 3/7.
I need your help, please. I have 2 more VinViews, and both pretty much say the same thing. I still haven’t had an update on the Lincoln tracking site since 3/7 (the day we believe the car was likely loaded on the rail car). I have asked my dealer for weekly updates, here is what I have. Here’s screen shots of 3/16 and 3/21 VinView printouts - the 3/16 has a map showing the car still in Portland - at this point it would have been on a rail car for 9 days and still in Portland, the dealer said it’s in Chula Vista or almost there. On the update I received today, the dealer said the car is in Chula Vista and is waiting for a truck - to me it looks like the car is STILL in Portland because I see a car next to Portland on the 3/21 update and it still shows ‘on rail’. He said there is a check mark there so it’s on to the next place. I am hoping you might be able to confirm what your VinView showed - I honestly am concerned my car is STILL in Portland after a month. I am in Orange County CA so this should have been a relatively quick trip here compared to other areas, however, it’s going/gone hours south of here and is still not here. I am without a car soon and feel like my dealer may not be reading this correctly. If you have any insight I’d appreciate it! As always, thanks bunches.
Teresa

First off, my last VINView was when it was still 200 miles or so from the rail hub. I didn't attempt to track it afterwards as the 'Last Updated' tracked with it's movement.

We had a similar issue with your vehicle when it was on ship. My guess is that somewhere there's a database entry error that is causing it to track the movement of your vehicle incorrectly, but at the specific choke points where it's scanned, it's position is determined. Remember that your vehicle appeared to be in San Francisco Bay when it suddenly popped up in Portland.

If you look at the VINView map, you'll see the letters P and D inside squares on the map. That stands for 'pickup' and 'delivery'. There is a D (delivery) at or near Chula Vista, where the dealer indicated the drop-off occurred. The D could correspond to a location scan.

I do think that's where it is, at least until we get better evidence that it's not. As far as why it's still waiting in a truck? We've seen delays worse, but not many. You should be moving soon.

Best of luck.

My car has been in Portland since 3/9, and the dealer told me that from the day the ship drops my car at the dock within 3 weeks I should have my vehicle it has been 2 weeks, and my car hasn't even moved at all. It is still in Portland after 2 weeks and when I ordered my car I was promised it would be here in February. So I am waiting 8 more days if I don't have my vehicle then RS Q8 it is. I already talked to the Audi Salesman and everything I already reserved it we are just waiting to see the Lincoln's ETA.

I suspect you'll have an RS Q8 then. I do not believe eight days will be enough time. The Audi sounds like a thrilling vehicle.

It certainly has been slow on my delivery! I likely still have at least 1-2 weeks - grrr! Thanks again for your insight, it’s reassuring being somewhat informed - you’re more knowledgeable than most on the transit process.

I am not sure why they told you that, I think most of us have waited about 3 weeks for the car to be loaded on a rail car - either way, I hope you enjoy your RS Q8.

Shoot, I just noticed I have a D next to the dealer too, that part got cut off the screenshot… now I am back to wondering? What do you think?

Maybe? Who knows. When I ordered my car I was promised February and I ordered it in September 7 months for a Lincoln is insane.

What is frustrating is that if they can guarantee why are they overpromising and getting the customers hope up and due to that if this is how Lincoln rolls I don't want to give them business and deal with this for the 1-2 years I drive my Lincoln. On the other hand the Audi salesman has been so friendly and nice that I feel like he deserves what' coming his way.

I think that might be a flow-down status. You'll noticed there are two P's in China, but it wasn't picked up twice. I'm not sure. It's a shame the map is so zoomed out. It would be nice to see if there were really two D's on the map. Also, the dealer can click on the car and it'll actually give a lat/long. That would be nice. The had can't be faked.

It's the way your salesman rolls, or salesmen, perhaps. I don't know that many salesmen I trust. I'm not talking just cars. I just told a salesmen at a tint shop he wouldn't be getting my business. I generally don't like their vibe. I've met both good and bad salesmen everywhere. So will you.

If you're upset, complain through the Concierge. They're closing another hundred Lincoln dealerships in 2024. Give them something to think about.

Technically, I heard they'll be closing the Lincoln half of combined Ford/Lincoln dealerships. Probably nothing to do with satisfaction.

Why are they closing the dealerships. I thought Lincoln's were high in demand what's the point in closing dealerships.

The reason for my frustration is that an 85,000 dollar car should not have a 8 month waiting for it. And why is it that they are the ones making money but we are doing their job for them, and sitting around asking for updates but they get the commission. I have bought so many cars in my life and they were mostly all over at least 100K, and I have never had to wait 8 months for them that is ridiculous. If I didn't have to wait 8 months for a 250K car why am I waiting 8months for a 85K Lincoln that is common that is just too much in my opinion and I do not trust Lincoln anymore. This car. isn't even in that high demand compared to others but they are acting like this car is some president which in my book isn't going to play and therefore I'm out. They act like this car competes with Rolls Royce. Honestly I should buy a Rolls and then stroll down to the Lincoln dealership and be like I bought this instead, and tell them in person I am not interested.

They want the brand to be more exclusive. They think by only having stand-alone dealerships then the Lincoln brand would have more caché.

SO they aren't closing they are just splitting Lincoln and Ford dealerships into singular.

Well, they're giving the opportunity for Ford/Lincoln dealerships combined into the same structure to either build a separate structure or move, but they won't allow them to share the same space. About a hundred have already closed, and they anticipate another hundred to close. The remaining dealerships will absorb the sales.

Iirc, they are giving cash incentives to close.

So Lincoln and Ford dealerships are closing the ones that are combined. And then in that space either Ford or Lincoln will come back but alone. So every combined dealership will split up and go solo mode somewhere else.
