2024 delivery schedule

Did the Glovis Sunrise arrive. It is showing 19:00 would that be in EST. Does anyone know how long from today to taking delivery.
GS just entered the Columbia River. The 19:00 ETA was actually UTC, which means she's already an hour late. Figure a few more hours.

Delivery time can vary considerably. Just sample the people on this forum. It took me three weeks just to get on rail, but two weeks to make it to the dealer.

So from here it should take about 2 weeks to get to the dealer if I am one of the lucky ones. Is it going to arrive today for sure, and do you know if the Lincoln tracker updates right when it arrives.

The only thing that might delay it is if they need a tug crew and they're not available. In that case it'll anchor today and dock later. Either way, I'm going to guess it won't unload until Monday, just because we've seen that before.

You should see the VOS update close to the day it's unloaded, but we can confirm that with the import logs, and then update again the day it's put on a rail. That's what we've seen in the past. After that second update, I gave it a couple of days and then asked my dealer for a VINView to confirm it was on rail.

How long would you say from here to delivery. Are they unloaded by being driven off the boat or are they already put in rail car boxes and they unload the boxes.

Like I said. It'll vary. Cars are driven off the boat and driven on to autorack rail cars — in two separate steps.

Sorry @Vishan, I couldn't find a picture of your personal vehicle.

That' ok I got the jist. How they know which key is for which vehicle then. And which vehicle goes where how do they figure all that out. How long did the average person get there's after.

I believe they leave the keys in the vehicles. The vehicles all have bar codes on the them which helps identify their routing. The rest I guess is up to organizational skills. Personally, I'd keep all the keys in a big pile on my desk. "Wait, did you say the Black Label hybrid with the Jet Appearance package and the Black Label Chromatic color? Which one? I have seven!"

Average delivery time is probably not a good metric for you. Many of the people who have received their vehicles had to endure the January polar vortex which shut down the port, left vehicles in piles and delayed shipments for weeks. I imagine it's running more smoothly now. It took me five weeks. I'm gonna guess 3-4 weeks for you, and that's being nice.

I am hoping someone here who has more experience with VinView printouts can help me. My Lincoln updates are not happening as they should, so I am having a hard time gauging what is going on and my dealer isn’t the most responsive. I know I am nearing the end of this process but would like some input.

3/28 - my car updated to 2/19 (this is presumed to be the day in landed in Portland and in line with the ETA)
3/1 - I received the following VinView (with no map - I always request it but don’t always get it) showing the car is ‘on the road’
3/7 - my car actually updated to 3/7 - the first time the update was on the same day

My question - when is says ‘on the road’, is it on a rail car? Would it show ‘on the road’ while sitting in port in Portland? The tracking and website is so unreliable I have no idea how to tell what anything means. Is there someone further along that might give some insight as to what their VinView meant when it said ‘on the road’.

Thanks, Teresa

I called my salesman and he said March 28. To take delivery.

I can almost guarantee you that is an ESTIMATE and it could change. There's no way for a dealer to know 2 weeks out whether an in-transit car will be delivered in time to make a customer delivery on a specific date. I hope he's accurate for you. But I would not plan too much on it being that exact date.

Where do you live? Your location compared to Portland will be helpful to determine this.

So cal, so I’m not as far from Portland. I am hoping to understand what ‘on the road’ means and when it shows up in the process? After being offloaded from the ship or not until loaded onto a rail car? I wouldn’t think this is location specific?

My car just updated to 3/09/24 so when it next updates does that mean it has been loaded onto a rail car and is now heading towards the dealership?

Well, if you live in Seattle or Boise or maybe even San Francisco or who knows, it may never get on a rail car. It may go directly to a truck. My car was on a truck for about 450 miles from Chicago to Pittsburgh. If you lived close enough to Portland, they could do the same.

Location definitely makes a difference in transit time… I am not looking for predictions in transit time. I am hoping someone who’s had VinView printouts can help me with the term “on the road”. I’d like to know what triggers that term changing on the VinView - is it rail car? Truck? Landing in Portland? Might anyone know? Swindler, or anyone with prior printouts to review?

I think our cars are together Mine just updated to 3/9 from 2/19 today. My dealer said end of March (Chicago area)

When it's on rail the status will be 'On Rail'. I can't say for 100% about waiting in Portland. Even though mine was there for three weeks, I never got a VINView that showed the status. However, my vehicle did say 'On the road' while sitting idle in Shanghai waiting for a boat. So I imagine it would said 'On the road' while sitting idle in Portland waiting for a train. You may want to scan the VINView uploads that have been posted on this thread.

It does sound to me like your vehicle was loaded onto a train 3/7.

There's no way for us to tell you that. You'll get a status date change reflecting probably today's date. We have no idea how long from there to a railcar because we've seen times all over the place. We do know that once you get a status update that corresponds with a railcar entry, it should be about 2 weeks. But exceptions abound.

Figure about 6 weeks from unload date.

Thank you, that’s exactly the info I was looking for. This would mean it was still sitting in Portland on my the last VinView update. I agree, I believe the update on 3/7 was to a rail car, I was just confused with the ‘on the road’ while it was sitting in Portland. This makes me happy - I’m in the home stretch now and should have my car within a few weeks.
