MY2023 Aviator Order Timeline Tracking thread

Agreed there. Have you heard anything about what they are going to do for customers with vehicles sitting at the speedway for half a year in the weather and elements.
Free car wash? My Aviator is one of them and I'm curious to see what kind of mileage may be on it if it eventually gets here.

True because so many miles it's no longer new

Hey I was told by lincoln a couple weeks ago that Jan 5th was opening for ordering the 24 aviator and they have no fix for the camera and are actually giving up on the idea of fixing the ones on the racetrack. But we all hear different things. But I even called the dealership and told them we wanted to reorder on Jan 5th
I believe a back up camera with video display has been required by Federal law since 2018. If they give up on the idea of fixing them, how can they legally sell it?

I wondered the same. If the MY24s were starting to arrive when a bunch of older MY23s finally got released, they would have a problem and need to incentivize the movement of the 23s. However, if it's true what others suggest that the 24s will get delayed, then this would not be necessary. I also read earlier about a potential MSRP credit for a 360 camera view delete (like they have on the hands free liftgate and security system "lite") if they have to replace it with a more basic review view camera as required by Federal law. At this rate, our order, having been produced in March, will be at least 6 months old before its delivered.

That I'm not sure my wife and I were on the phone with concierge for for an hour. And those were some of the things they were telling us

Yep, any "built" after something like April of 2018, so most manufacturers included it on all 2018 models.

Got an email last night that ours is built and ready to ship. @peterk9 did you get an email as well?
We have not gotten anything. When was your order placed

FYI, the Explorer which is in the same boat as the Aviator has had the 2024 production run begin in January and it's only for 2 months. It is reportedly a carryover of the 2023 model with no updates. That could also apply to the Aviator although I've heard that there won't be a 2024.

I just received this email from my dealer on Saturday 9/2
“Thank you for your patience, we just got off our our Lincoln broadcast within the past hour or so, then had some phone calls to our zone manager. So, they are starting to ship Aviators, effective today. There are over 5000 Aviators parked outside of the plant in Chicago and they are going to install cameras in effected units at the rate of 800 units per week. I just got my first shipping notification a few moments ago for a retail unit.”

FWIW, I hope they have a huge team doing the work!
If it was 1 guy, that is 3 minutes per vehicle if I mathed it out right.

I hope all of you awaiting your Aviators are not impacted by the potential strike. It is looking loke a strike effective Sept 14 from my vantage point. Best of luck to you all.

Hi All, I have not come back to this thread in a week or so. And I have not gone to Lincoln order page in well over a month. For absolutely no reason, I just did a few minutes ago, and my vehicle, which was order on March 9, and has been being built since May 1, change to built effective yesterday! It was updated today.
Shocking to me, because I finally spoke to my dealer last week and he defeatedly admitted to me that they had no idea when the vehicles would get fixed/built, and I honestly started planning for late October/early November based on that conversation with me.
Hope this is helpful to some of you.

Just checked mine and it also shows Built. The last update shows as August 30.
BTW, they began installing the new cameras and associated software a couple of days ago on over 5000 Aviators and it's being done at the rate of 800 per week.

I have a few that were built and done weeks if not months ago and latest update per my system still shows June 28th with no ETA. System is antiquated and not always up to date.
If I do a locate for any Aviator with 360 camera again thru our system it still shows all of them as ‘at plant’. They really need to get this done and over with as it’s gonna snowball and cause a lot more issues such as people just plain tired of waiting and buying elsewhere or simply losing faith in the vehicle and walking away.

My order from Feb 8 still shows "in production" as it has since March 29. :(

Patience. Mine was in that state from April 3rd to Aug. 30th. when it changed to "Built". I'm guessing that means the new camera and software were installed.
