What are your likes and dislikes concerning the Lincoln Corsair?

I just finished detailing my ‘21 GT and was actually surprised at the number of trim pieces and rubberized molding strips that had not been fully inserted into their clip holders/holes. Although they appeared to be in place at first when looking, they hadn’t been secured. Looking at the rear passenger door adjacent to the hinge, I see where a special trim fastener is missing. Will have to get dealer to take care of that one.
I did notice it also for the windshield washer fluid tubing running unsecured under the hood “soundproofing“ felt last week. It was an easy task to push the fixing clips in to hold the tubing.
Just a curious set of oversights.

Thank you for sharing these items. While all relatively minor items, this will be another line item on my CON list when deciding between the RDX and the Corsair. see: Corsair or RDX?

Does anyone know if the 2022 has fixed CON points 1 and 4, the water leaking forever and putting an engine cover? Does anyone know if either of these issues is different for the Reserve?
I have a 22. Con #1. I washed my vehicle for the first time several days ago. As with all my vehicles, after washing I open the hatch as well as all doors to wipe down the dirt and water. I don't see any big difference from water dripping any more on my Corsair compared to any other vehicle I've owned.

#2. Like other manufacturers/models, no engine cover was included. I did however, purchase one along with fastening hardware from Ford Parts.

Ah, very good. So it seems it’ll be easy enough to apply an engine cover myself if needed. Thank you for your input!

I have the Corsair Reserve with all the options, including the ginormous sunroof. I usually keep the sunroof closed because it is noisy. The Lexus I had before this Lincoln was perfectly quiet. It had a wind deflector that popped up when you opened the sunroof. The Corsair doesn't seem to have that or it doesn't function properly.
It does have a pop up wind deflector, check to ensure it is popping up properly. mine is not noisy.

Likes:
Great looks interior and exterior, very impressive
Great ride, smooth- quiet-comfortable
Comfortable Seats
Roomy interior for its size
Nice features
Handles better than expected
Very good and sufficient power with the 2.0
Great MPG
Surprises everyone it’s a Lincoln, many complements
Dont see many on the road so it stands out
Good value
Ford engineering and reliability
Like it better then the ‘21 MB GLB AWD I had

Dislikes:
-Standard model with Convenience 101A and Premium Packages doesn’t have rear view mirror mounted turn signal lights. On a luxury vehicle ??
-No engine cover (had to add it) on a luxury vehicle
-Still getting used to piano key shifting
-Fog lights should be standard on a luxury vehicle

I think he means the side mirrors. My GT has them.

Outside door mounted rear view mirrors

Hi kingdre. I think RedHoncho hit it right...Car-guy28 meant side-view mirror turn-signals, not the rear view mirror.

EDIT- Car-guy28 and I were posting at the same time... and I am a slow typer. :D

Good luck.

One month in, about 400 miles on my 2022 Corsair Grand Touring, Flight Blue with Ebony interior. One big caveat here: my last car was a 2013 Outback which is a perfectly utilitarian, sensible vehicle with little in the ways of creature comforts. The Corsair is an astounding leap forward in performance, luxury and technology - so it's a night and day difference.

Likes - a few pertinent ones amongst the multitudes:
- the seats are incredible. Adjustable leg boosters are great, and overall I've found the seats comfortable and easy to adjust.
- Adjustable charging time - I plug it into the 240v when I get home from work, but it delays charging until after 10pm when the electrical costs are off-peak / cheaper.
- "Departure Time" pre-conditioning via the Lincoln Way app - when I get in the car in the morning, the cabin temp is already at 68 and on particularly cold mornings the heated steering wheel and/or seats are going
- The Revel stereo system is outstanding. I am lucky in that my car was delivered without any rattles/noises, and even with heavy bass the car doesn't rattle
- Ride quality - the adaptive suspension is buttery smooth, and the cabin is extremely quiet.
- Performance - Excite mode is zippy and responsive, and it's fun to really punch it when getting on the freeway or passing. I get that it's not an SQ5 or anything, but for me it's a huge upgrade.
- Aesthetics - gorgeous vehicle, inside and out. Proportionally the Aviator is nicer, and I find certain other SUVs to be generally more attractive (Volvo XC90, Ford Edge ST as examples) but this thing looks great.
- The bendy headlights that turn with you through turns. How cool is that?

Neutral:
- Accelerating, especially merging onto the freeway, in Pure EV mode is sluggish, but I wasn't expecting otherwise. Aside from that, I love cruising along silently and not using gasoline.
- Engine noise - I understand others' comments about the sound of the ICE when it kicks on. However it's still a lot quieter than the Subaru, so I'm not bothered by it, and only noticed it after seeing discussion on this forum. It's no biggie.

Dislikes:
- lack of wireless Apple Carplay (I may get that Bluetooth adapter that someone linked in another thread). In 2022 you should be able to stick your phone on the wireless charger and be able to use Spotify or Waze...
- Texting - how come I can only choose from one of 15 default responses?! My wife's 2017 Fusion allows her to dictate text messages, and my 2022 Lincoln is unable to do this? (Or have I just not figured it out yet?)
- No cupholders in the doors. Come on.
- Massage doesn't always re-set to original lumbar position when you turn it off. Then, the car doesn't allow you to press "1" while driving to return to the saved setting. So you have to manually click the lumbar buttons while driving to get the seat back to where you want it.

Overall I consider myself lucky in that the build quality seems fine - no squeaks or rattles and no obvious service issues. I love this car. Every time I drive it I think to myself, "holy sh*t I love this car."

My 2022 Corsair is my 5th Lincoln (LS, MkZ, 2 MkCs) and my least favorite.
Heated steering wheel is now controlled by a sensor and adjusts the wheel heat depending on the interior car temp.

Driver’s seat heater has a mind of its own. Raises the temp without my changing the setting level.

Engine auto stop-start feature is inconsistent. Stop at a traffic light for 45 seconds and the engine shuts off. Sit in a Starbucks line for 5 minutes and the engine continues to run.

And the worst of all, the elimination of the foot operated rear lift gate as a standard feature. $57,000 and Lincoln removes a useful feature and one the their down market competition has.

I am really disappointed in this vehicle

The vehicle supports text dictation. All you need to do is activate Siri and dictate your voice messages. Am I understanding your needs wrong?

That's probably the issue. I've had Siri disabled on my iPhone for years, I'll activate and give it a test. Thanks!

I too am bummed that they removed the foot operated rear lift as standard, and cannot even get it as a stand alone option.

I have it on the 2022 GT. Doesn't always work flawlessly. I find myself sometimes having to sweep my feet too many times beneath the exhaust pipe to have the door open. Still, when it works, it's a great feature to have.

To further promote this topic...

Just came back from a roundtrip vacation I took from NJ to North Carolina. Didn't really want to put the miles on my new Corsair, but someone told me that vacations like these are the reason for driving a luxury vehicle.

So, put about 1,500 miles on my vehicle this past week and experienced my first long-range trip with my Corsair.

The plus is that the Corsair performed wonderfully, providing a very smooth ride. My girlfriend did a lot of the driving and she really enjoyed the vehicle, the heads-up display, and the many safety features that kept her in the lane.

I averaged 32MPG on regular gasoline, mostly Interstate (I95 driving). Did not use electric as that was depleted quickly.

The cons? The seat. As everyone has said, the damn seat is very uncomfortable on long journeys. There is just so much tech built into those seats that the comfort is sacrificed. I found myself having to turn the massage function on quite frequently just to change the pressure points on my back.

Otherwise, I am very happy with the Corsair. It did a great job holding a week's worth of luggage and the many bags that we brought.

"Did not use electric as that was depleted quickly"

Glad you are enjoying your new car! Also agree on the seats...ugh...we're in the minority, but I find my '13 Explorer far more comfortable. Hoping its just a break in issue.

Curious. What mode did you use/use most? When I drive highway in Conserve, I find the cruise control slowing me on the hills plus occasional braking allows my battery to continue to charge. I saw120 miles electric on the last 600 mile drive. I do not use "preserve" as that is $5+/gallon to charge my car. I find I can afford up to $0.35/khw on public chargers and still save vs gas (here in CA). BTW, I've never reset my "trip 2" so for the life of the car I show 3632 miles, 2095 of those electric for 62MPG average (plenty of short trips and recharges obviously).

My girlfriend did most of the driving. Being unfamiliar with drive modes, we ended up driving under NORMAL as that is the default mode when you turn on the vehicle (I hate the fact it doesn't default to the last used mode before turning the vehicle off).

I don't understand the PRESERVE mode and what advantage it presents. You are essentially burning through a great deal of gas to gain electricity?! Where are the cost savings?

For me, when on short trips I use PURE EV. When I am doing slightly longer trips where I don't have enough electric, I use CONSERVE as it seems to use a little bit of gas and a little bit of electric. On long trips, if I am driving, I just use NORMAL or EXCITE. I am not certain which of the all-gas modes gives you the best mileage. Perhaps someone else has that answer.
