What are your likes and dislikes concerning the Lincoln Corsair?

After a month with my GT, I really dislike the button on the end of the turn signal stalk that controls the lane warning feature. I had an Outback with eyesight and the collision warning/lane warning etc features were turned on and off with a set of buttons on the dash to the left of the driver. When I bought it they were all turned on and I never touched them.

Also, the lane departure warning waits until you are half way into the next lane before the steering wheel vibrates.

I keep forgetting to turn that damn button on and that should not be an issue. That should go on automatically each time I use the vehicle unless I select otherwise. I agree, a huge dislike there.

I suspect that may vary greatly based on how the car "sees" the lanes.

I tried it a few times in my 2020 Corsair, and found that I really didn't like the feature. (I didn't like the way it felt as though the steering wheel was fighting you for control). I'm reliably a good, attentive driver (please don't confuse the ultimate fate of my 2020 Corsair as any sort of statement about my own driving), and so I decided that I don't need that one turned on and left it off, except for perhaps long stretches of open highway (not something I encounter much locally, but I do take longer drives from time to time).

Mine stays on. I've only pressed it once. I just have to turn on the cruise EVERY time I drive lol. You get used to it.

I have found that over the years not to buy a first year model of any make. My 22 GT is awesome and have zero complaints. I think most car companies get the bugs out by the third year of release.

3rd week and so far - like that they changed the auto start/stop to be temperature dependent. I live in the California desert, and having the car auto stop when it's 110 degrees outside is not nice. I actually thought something was wrong when I got the car and it was not doing the auto stop/start, and went through the settings and saw it was disabled due to outside temperature. VERY happy about that. Like how quiet the interior is, even compared to my mkc. That sound screen glass obviously does something - I use a bluetooth app on my phone to open my community gate. Had no issues using it inside my mkc, now I have to roll down the window to get it to work (not blaming Lincoln for that, just pointing out that there is definitely something different).

Dislike the turn signal indicator volume. I can barely hear it in my new vehicle, was much more noticeable in my mkc. Not sure yet if that's an issue that needs to be looked at or if it's by design. Dislike the piano key and the excessive chrome color. The glare points off the knobs in a region where there is 364 days of intense sunlight is a negative. Considering using a wrap to cover a few of the surfaces. Liked the simple black and white fonts the instrument cluster used on my mkc, not a fan of the font and the color gradients they use on the display. But yes, these are very anal issues. :)

Likes:

Fantastic fuel economy.
Good looks.
Joystick controls on steering wheel.
Drive modes that actually work.
Great ride quality.
Quiet.
Piano key transmission.
Phone button in steering wheel.
2.0 engine has great power.

Dislikes:

Incredibly uncomfortable hard seats.
Base sound system is awful (are there ANY rear speakers?).
Jerky transmission.
Way too much "GM-ish" interior plastic.
Hatch malfunctions are a chronic problem.
Lincoln "soft touch" seats are anything but soft (feels similar to a vinyl floor mat)
Rear wiper on-off switch is too tiny.
Only one USB input.
Hard to fill with gas (pump keeps clicking off).
Various mysterious rattles in the rear.

It's a really great car no doubt about it.

I don't think that I'm quite as enthused about it since purchasing it as many on this forum.

My dislikes are not because of the build quality but rather my own fault... I didn't really test drive the car. (I was at a car show just post pandemic). It's good looks just impressed me. My fault for buying on impulse...

I find the seats in the standard Corsair "extremely uncomfortable. So much so that I'm going to give the card to my wife who doesn't mind the seats (I just need to find my next ride)…

I would suggest a long test drive. I'm sure the reserve addition or the higher up trim levels allow for much more adjustment but that is not the case and the standard model

I also find that the car is very small so make sure it is size well for your needs and Lots of Plastics (in the standard).

The build quality seems fantastic, it is a very smooth ride. I would definitely go for the larger engine!

Test drive, test drive, test drive! I think you'll like it 😀👍🏼
All depends what you're used to. We had a 2010 ford escape hybrid, which we loved. The Corsair Grand Touring feels large, the seats very comfortable, the mileage amazing, and the engine plenty powerful. We're loving it, but it's only been 2 days.

Point taken. Im still in LOVE with G2 and Im five months and almost 16k miles lol.

I agree with mastercardguy. Great car all around, but if they replace the seats with something from an 85 Toyota or a 99 Plymouth, it would be a substantial improvement...maybe not in the looks department, but at least they wouldn't be butt and back breakers. I've had six Lincolns...all seats have been supremely comfortable which is a big reason I've always been drawn to the brand...then along came the Corsair. Biggest WTF moment in my history of car ownership. Maybe if you go the extra ten grand plus for a reserve with the perfect position seating you'd have a different opinion, but the base seats will kill you slowly and painfully over time.

No, the GT seats are just as uncomfortable. However, that opinion seems to be in the minority here.

For the moment, my favorite thing has gotta be MASSAGING SEATS! I've had the Corsair two months and just got around to using them yesterday. They provided a great massage on my way home from yoga. Will be using them regularly from now on. The funny thing is though, I never thought to use the feature in the Platinum Explorer I just replaced.

Absolutely loving the vehicle so far, and haven't had any problems except a small cut on the leather dash that was repaired right away. On the other hand, I'm retired and don't put many miles on my vehicles, so only time will tell.

Uncomfortable how? Do you have back issues? Have you used the seat settings to increase or decrease the 'bloat' in the seatback? Its nice back support.

The seats are too hard. If you go on a long drive, which I have done, the back feels very sore. I have to turn on the massage to get some movement.

I believe the discomfort in the seats is due to all the electronics built into them.

PLUS, the '22 Corsair's massager NEVER goes off. The old one did after about 20 minutes.

Hi kingdre. It's funny how sometimes we want what we don't have. While someone else wants what we have but we wish we didn't have. ;)

The massage function in my MKZ also times out at 20 minutes. But I wish it would not automatically time out at 20 minutes and would stay on until the car is turned off.

On longer drives, my wife and I play a game of *Who notices the massage seats turned off first*. But I feel like I am cheating. Since I am driving, I notice the SYNC screen notify us they are turning off and she normally does not.

Just a little useless trivia from my exciting life. :ROFLMAO:

Good luck.

It's really difficult to define why the Corsair appeals to me. It just feels good to be in it - it has a "je ne sais quoi" touch about it. I like the look of it, both inside and out, and it seems to exude quality and good design. I have owned somewhere around 70 cars in my lifetime and this definitely is in the top 5 for me (another Lincoln - my '87 Town Car - is also in that top 5). The 2.3L motor has loads of oomph (they even put this motor into the Mustang, though to my way of thinking, sticking a four-cylinder engine into a Mustang is a bit of a sacrilege), and the car handles beautifully. I like the little things about it.

The heated steering wheel heats up quickly and heats up all the way around. My previous car, a 2017 Highlander, only seemed to heat the wheel between the"quarter to three" and "ten to two" position. The seats seem heat up quicker than other cars that I've owned. I've previously questioned the value of heated seats - by the time I've felt any warmth coming through, my bum's heated up the seat anyway. Not so with the Corsair. It's a little thing, but I also love the hood release! Pull twice on the handle inside the car, and there's no longer the need to stick your fingers under the front edge of the hood to search for the secondary latch. It's a stupid little thing, but it pleases me!

My Reserve only has the standard 10-way power seats, and I definitely have had cars that had much more comfortable seats, but the Corsair's are adequate. (I optioned my car as much as I could, with the Head's-Up Display, the appearance package, etc., but the 22-way seats would have gone way over the top for me. As it was, the car cost $63,000 CAN before taxes (about $50,500 US), and the fancier seats would have added about another $10,000 to the cost, I believe.

The only sour note to the car is the fact that I've been having battery problems, and although the dealership just replaced the battery, I am left with the nagging concern about whether electrical problems might plague the car in the future. Not that I'll find out - it seems as though I may have to sell the car anyway, which will be a heartbreaker.

Circumstances change quickly in one's life, and my wife now needs an electric wheelchair. It folds and does fit in the back of the Corsair, but it does take up a fair bit of room and we find that the car is a bit too small for us now. Plus the fact that the wheelchair is quite heavy, and although at 79 I consider myself to be fairly hale and hearty, I do admit that hefting that wheelchair into the back of the Corsair is a bit of a challenge. We need a vehicle with a lower load height, and so it looks as though a minivan is probably in the cards for us. *sigh* Well, that'll be the first minivan I've owned. Well, come to think of it, I did have a VW Bus back in the early seventies. And also, come to think of it, that VW Bus is definitely in my top five favourite cars!
Thank you for your review.

Thank you for your review. WOW! You've had A LOT of cars! I know your post is from a year or so ago, but did you see this:
??? An electric VW Bus!

I liked the style and the seats are comfortable. The rattles have bugged me from the first week. They are everywhere. Under the hood, door panels, trim pieces, liftgate cover, heat shields, fake lens covers, etc. The three loaner Corsairs I had while the dealer spent weeks trying to stop the noise was as bad or worse if the road wasn't perfectly smooth. As I finally am getting the rattles out, it is becoming a quiet ride. I liked the roller shade style cargo cover of my Escape better than the fixed cardboard of the Corsair. I wish I could have gotten a CD player option. The navigation system only shows streets if I am zoomed in. If I zoom out a few levels, all the streets disappear and only a few highways are left. I took the liners out of the wheel wells and under the floor boards to have the car undercoated, and I was shocked at how many places barely had paint or even primer. I find the shifting is more noticeable than I would like. It took almost a week to fix the software when the navigation quit. Today, the interior foot well lights and ambient lighting stopped working. Overall, I have more buyers remorse, than pride of ownership.

I found on eBay, CD players designed to work with the Corsair. It's a simple USB plug in CD player with a long cord that fishes behind the glove box and into the lower closed box where the sliding door is. You could also install it by running it under the carpet to the USB ports in the rear seat area. It works flawlessly. Here is the URL if interested. You can get different types at different prices so search around. eBay - CD player for Corsair.

Thanks for the info. I found this video on YouTube that discusses the features of the system. If not the same model, it appears to be pretty much identical.
My husband misses the CD player, so may just have to get one.

I'd like to know what people love about their Lincoln Corsair - and what they don't love about it. Let's hear it!
I wish I could get the one I have ordered. Since Jan 15,2022! Then I could let you know . They have pushed it out every month since May. Very disappointed in Lincoln. If they are not going to build it , they should not have took the order!! It is funny in WWII THEY built bomber planes by the thousands now can’t get car built. Stop pushing the ev’s and build what brought you to the dance!! I hope the corsair is better than the production process!!
