After two months with my 2022 Corsair GT, these are my very subjective observations:
Likes:
1. It's a plug-in hybrid! Not much competition in this segment. Audi and Volvo were less efficient. Lexus was not available.
2. The ride is solid and plush.
3. Great headlights by U.S. standards.
4. Good value (assuming the resale holds up). Discounts are still widely available in the current market.
Dislikes:
1. At lower speed (when the engine is often off, which makes it worse), too much pedestrian warning sound can be heard in the cabin. The noise level in general is a bit high for a luxury car. Maybe my ANC is defective.
2. The ICE engine fires up too easily, including in Pure EV mode and when the car remote starts while plugged in.
3. The expensive 24-way seats could be a bit softer. Overall, I was hoping for more luxury flourishes. The hard plastic surface seems out of place on a fully loaded Lincoln.
4. The tech is a bit dated, and no chance of over-the-air updates other than some infotainment tweaks.
5. The gear selector gets old.
6. Some UI annoyances including minimum navigation audio level, default drive mode, voice button location, 12V access point, wireless charger, etc.
None of these seems to bother my wife. This will be her car when I switch to a BEV in a year or two. I would love to get the Lincoln version of the Mustang Mach-E, but I have a feeling the first model out the gate might be designed to take on the
Cadillac Lyriq, and that would be too big for me. The
Genesis GV60 is more my size.
