What are your likes and dislikes concerning the Lincoln Corsair?

I totally agree. I have ordered from Ford and Lincoln every vehicle since the early 2000's. Back in the beginning, Ford was taking only 3 weeks to fill a special factory order. It was fantastic. It' staking 6-8 weeks now with Corsair but that's ok with me. I'm retired as of today (1/7/22) and so I can wait and be patient for this superb car. I researched a lot of vehicles and think this is one of the best out there these days. No doubt in my mind at all. I took my time this time and even looked at non-Ford vehicles. Corsair GT won me over big time.
Congrats on retirement.

Yep, ”my results may vary“.

I’m asking owners about real world achieved range. While I don’t expect to achieve EPA (they simulate but 80% are within 1mpg) this is the only standard for relative comparisons between models and manufacturers using whatever assumption, styles, temperatures etc…

Without other inputs from GT owners, I conclude the 430 range is just plain wrong and will provide actual feedback per EPA site. (For one thing, they show the gas tank capacity as 12 gals vs 11.17 per manual)
12 x 33= 396 + 28= 424. Maybe they did 32 (the highest EV only number I saw) and rounded up. I cant wait to try it. My MKZ averaged 41 mpg as a pure hybrid. I've hypermilled and gotten 49 mpg in the Fusion hybrid.

Has anyone figured out how to show a tachometer in the 12 inch display - in any mode? I'd like to use the paddle shifters along a windy part of the highway and monitor the stress I'm putting on the ICE.
So it dawned on me I have an old, $15, OBD2 reader in the garage junk drawer. Plugging it in and running iPhone app Carscanner (free version) allows me to see a tachometer!

I can’t wait to try it live with the paddle shifters so I can engine break into windy turns and not worry about over stressing the trans/engine. 😃

After two days of driving, i like ev mode but i dislike trickle charging. I see why a few folks said 'only two tanks of gas this year' lol. I gotta upgrade my charging.

I dislike Siriusxm changed the preset station function so it won't just go to the next station.

I dislike only having 'ok' button only on the right side, not both like thr MKZ.

I hate that the cargo tray does NOT fully cover or hide the trunk/cargo area.

Hate the missing engine cover, as i do hear the engine more than i want to.

I also dislike not seeing the things i want to see more. I love data n stats lol

Quick update... I reclined the seats to lessen the gap between the seat and the cover.
I LOVE the seats!! I have the side bolsters a little snug, but I keep playing with the thigh extensions. I'm not a midget nor a bean pole, but my 38" waist self is HAPPY. PLUS the heated seats are better than in the MKZ to me.

Are you aware the rear seats can also be moved forward and backward? There is a lever under each seat to you can slide them forward 6" from the rear most position. Perhaps that is why there is a gap between the cargo cover and your hatch door.

One thing I did notice is if the rear seats are all the way forward and put into the down position for hauling things, there is a significant gap between the back edge of the seat and the cargo area floor. In my previous vehicles, there was a flap that went up the seat back from the bottom of the cargo floor that would lower down to cover the gap if the seats were folded down.

yes. I am. I've only had one other SUV. Ford Explorer '03, so I just noticed it as odd, but its possibly kind of normal. I saw a lady with a Toureg at the car wash. I may buy a black blanket, small one.

I actually like the lane-centering, though I wish it would recognize my hand. I do LOTS of highway driving, so Im not death-gripping the steering wheel lol.

What I like:
  • Great ride, smooth and quiet
  • Good looks inside and out
  • Comfortable seats
  • Attentive dealership
  • Regular gas and decent (but not great) gas mileage
  • Good safety features
What I don't like:
  • Finicky smartphone integration - mostly it works, but sometimes not
  • Battery drain caused battery replacement at 8 mos.
  • Hard to find out what safety features are enabled, I am always wondering if the collision detection is on and I don't want to do something to test it out...
I hear you.

I hook my Purel pump bottle over the back of the steering wheel. Hands free!:p

Has anyone driven a GT from full gas/full electric to empty/empty and recorded the total range? Sticker shows 430 miles driving range but I can't see how this is achievable (11 gallons @ 33 MPG + 28 miles on electric << 430) and my dashboard never shows more than about 300 combined. For comparison, the Aviator sticker shows 460 so this is not just the end of the range ribbon on the sticker).
So it appears after my first full tank consumption drive (300+ miles) the GT now has the confidence that it can at least approach the 430 miles listed by the EPA on the sticker. This summary greeted me on the newly updated app this morning (which has a bug that won't let me clear the account message indicator!?). Likely the warming weather helped to eke out a few more EV miles too (yes the GT's name is Cornelius).

YES. I concur. I've gotta 430 combined. Depends on how much my previous tank did hybrid regeneration. I have routes that favor regeneration and electric driving in hybrid mode. Its how i got my Fusion to 61 mpg and the MKZ to 51 mph. Hypermilling is so much fun.

After two months with my 2022 Corsair GT, these are my very subjective observations:

Likes:
1. It's a plug-in hybrid! Not much competition in this segment. Audi and Volvo were less efficient. Lexus was not available.
2. The ride is solid and plush.
3. Great headlights by U.S. standards.
4. Good value (assuming the resale holds up). Discounts are still widely available in the current market.

Dislikes:
1. At lower speed (when the engine is often off, which makes it worse), too much pedestrian warning sound can be heard in the cabin. The noise level in general is a bit high for a luxury car. Maybe my ANC is defective.
2. The ICE engine fires up too easily, including in Pure EV mode and when the car remote starts while plugged in.
3. The expensive 24-way seats could be a bit softer. Overall, I was hoping for more luxury flourishes. The hard plastic surface seems out of place on a fully loaded Lincoln.
4. The tech is a bit dated, and no chance of over-the-air updates other than some infotainment tweaks.
5. The gear selector gets old.
6. Some UI annoyances including minimum navigation audio level, default drive mode, voice button location, 12V access point, wireless charger, etc.

None of these seems to bother my wife. This will be her car when I switch to a BEV in a year or two. I would love to get the Lincoln version of the Mustang Mach-E, but I have a feeling the first model out the gate might be designed to take on the Cadillac Lyriq, and that would be too big for me. The Genesis GV60 is more my size.

You can adjust the navigation volume but it can only be done while the voice prompts are happening. Either use the audio volume button on the console or the audio toggle button on the steering wheel while the voice prompts are happening.

Where? My local dealer wants $2,000 to $3,000 over MSRP, but grudgingly says they'll order one at MSRP. This is a dealer I've dealt with for almost 10 years and bought several cars from. A Lincoln dealer 100 miles away says MSRP... But they also say if I order it now I won't get it until end of year, at which point the 23's will be coming out with supposedly the mid cycle refresh. This car market absolutely stinks to high heaven.

Not sure I posted my likes/dislikes yet. I am now about 4 weeks into ownership.

I am still a little uneasy about this vehicle only because I wanted a Lexus. However, as I have stated in other threads, I have leased Lincolns for years and love the brand and its ride. However, the Lexus NX350 isn't getting rave reviews. Although the infotainment screen has been revamped and is the highlight of that vehicle, the rest of it still seems a bit outdated. The reviews on its driving experience aren't turning any heads. So, I am not feeling as much remorse as I had thought I would.

Still, buying this vehicle instead of leasing it is giving me the biggest amount of unease knowing that the 2023 model will have a revamped infotainment system. I should have leased this car.

So, here are my likes and dislikes 4 weeks in

DISLIKES

1. The infotainment system. Just criminal that there's an 8" screen with Sync 3 in a top-trim Lincoln Corsair. The only "plus" is that it features SiriusXM auto-start where when you are changing preset channels, it will always start at the beginning of a song. The Sync 3 in my 2019 Lincoln MKZ did not feature this.

2. Vehicle never starting in the last drive mode you put it in. Would love to leave this on FULL EV and start it in the same mode.

3. Loud engine. I am sure some of my gripes have to deal with moving from a Sedan to a CUV, but the engine and cabin get loud at highway speeds. Even stepping on the accelerator to ramp up to highway speed produces noticeably loud engine feedback.

4. The auto temperature button and its fan cannot be turned off completely from the AUTO button on the console. You need to press MENU to turn it off from the screen.

5. The location of the fuse box and the inability to get access to it is extremely frustrating for those of us that want to add a radar detector. Also, the cigarette lighter plug is located inside a cubby hole which makes closing the drawer impossible when using it. I wish this vehicle had a storage area underneath the main console as older Lincoln vehicles do. The plug would have been most convenient there.

6. The damn rear hatch when washing a vehicle. If you don't know by now, you'll find out the next time you wash your car, dry it completely and then open the rear hatch door.

7. Having to continually press the P button to auto-park the vehicle is strange. In my 2019 Lincoln MKZ, I only had to press the button once and then let the car do its thing. However, the MKZ did not auto-brake when it paralleled parked. In Corsair, the vehicle does brake on its own. That's nice.

8. Dislike the piano key gear selector. My MKZ had buttons. I miss having a gear knob in the center of the vehicle. I know the absence of it allows for more room in the center, but it feels more like a novelty than an improvement.

LIKES

1. This car has more luxury for the buck. Stacked up against the competition, there is more luxury in this vehicle than Audi, Lexus, and BMW, I think.

2. Has that "smooth" Lincoln signature ride. Have always loved Lincoln for its ride quality and it's still evident here

3. The Revel sound system is pretty amazing though I am not sure how it compares to the Bang & Olufsen in the Audi, the Bowers & Wilkins in the BMW, or the Burmester in the Mercedes. However, the sonic quality of this system seems mostly excellent. I am very pleased with the audio separation, though I noticed when playing SiriusXM the audio is placed primarily in the front top dash center speaker. There is plenty of booming bass from the subwoofer and I was really surprised when a member here asked about adding an additional woofer to an already boomy system.

If you really want to take advantage of the system, download hi-rez music to your phone, plug it in, and listen to how well the Revel system performs. I have been really pleased with some 3D demo material I downloaded from Qobuz.

4. The HUD is one of the best out there according to many reviews I read, and it shows. Even when wearing polarized sunglasses, you can still see it. In many vehicles with HUD, sunglasses make it impossible to see it.

5. Just a wealth of safety features in the top trim vehicles. Love putting the vehicle in lane-keeping mode and watching it practically drive itself.

6. PHEV. I am saving a lot of money on gas. I know the vehicle only gets about 25 miles of electric (maybe a bit more in the Summer), but it's enough to get me around town on a daily basis. I used to fill my car halfway up every week. Now I only fill it halfway up twice a month. Just amazing to be saving gas when the cost of it is escalating.

7. Though the Lincoln Way app is not especially great, I was surprised that I could successfully use my iPhone as a key and drive the vehicle without a key fob. That was very cool and so far, it has worked well.

8. Thus far, in four weeks of ownership, everything seems to work well. No rattles. No defects. The seats and steering wheel heat nicely.

I am very happy, overall, with this Corsair. It definitely has a more impressive interior and tech than the German and Japanese rivals. I think Lincoln really hit it out of the ballpark with this new model. Just wish it wasn't 2022, being such a bad year to obtain a new car.

When I purchased my Corsair four weeks ago, dealers weren't marking up vehicles. In fact, I think I read that Ford was being very careful not to do it. There was no price gouging on the vehicle I bought.

However...

Two weeks ago my friend wanted to lease another Ford Explorer. He had been a loyal customer of that dealership for decades. They really tried gouging him on price. Even the manager who he knew could do nothing for him. He would not have any of it. The only compromise he was able to get was ordering the vehicle and waiting for it rather than taking it off the showroom floor, which seems to be the only way to save on the cost.

Sadly, from everything I have been reading, all manufacturers are now gouging customers due to market shortages.

There was a thread about this. I could raise the volume and it would stick, but if I lowered the volume it wouldn't stick. There seems to be a minimum level. It actually makes sense for the system to revert to a minimum setting at the next prompt, but that setting (6?) is a bit high for me. I had even experimented with balance and fade to get the sound away from me. That had no effect on the navigation sound.

1. Is that noise the "whirrr" when its in EV mode? I have more wind noise than anything, but SUVs sit higher, so I chalked it up to that.
2. Interesting. Is it the same spot on your route or just in general? There are times when ICE fires up in Pure EV mode, but its usually on this LONG hill on I285 here in Atlanta. Its about two miles uphill. Then, it goes back off.
3. Softer to the touch or softer to your back? I personally prefer the firmness while seated. I keep the heater on lol.
4. Dated technology compared to what? What did you come from? I had the Lincoln MKZ and Ford Fusion, so its just an updated version of the same software. Are you doing an apples to apples comparison of the segment or comparison of a specific vehicle? I have no desire to use PaaK or wireless charging.
5. I agree.. as I miss the MKZ's shifter to the literal right of the steering wheel. It was closer.

I think the dealer is preparing you for worst case scenario. I'm seeing folks say 4 months, not 9. There is another thread that talks about delivery time.
