What are your likes and dislikes concerning the Lincoln Corsair?

This gives the phrase “Zero Tolerance“ a whole new meaning!
These adaptive cruise comments are concerning, but with the rear cross traffic essentially non functional, it becomes a major dislike.

Is your cross traffic alert not working ? If it isn’t why not take it in to be looked at ? For me these new technology safety features are nice but I don’t depend on them. You should always still be aware when driving. I’m not saying you’re not I’m just making a general comment. A pilot has all kinds of technology at hand but in the end he still has to be able to fly the plane. I know I know these features are sold with the car and they should work ! The technology used in cars just still isn’t perfect yet.

I did, they couldn't find anything. No error codes. Pure lazy bs. Just trying to see how common it is.

😂 but cruise control should prob only be used on the highway anyway !
I strongly disagree. In 60+ years of driving I've never had a highway accident but I've lost count of the number of city fender benders. This technology can prevent nearly all of them provided everybody uses it (most of the accidents were someone else running into my rear).

To many people texting and driving or talking on their phones. Even more of a reason when traffic in front of me stops short I immediately look at my rear view and a possible way out if the person behind me don’t look like they’re going to stop. I drive a bus in the city. We look in our mirrors every 3-5 seconds no matter what.

May be.
Unless one is traveling on a surface street and then entering a freeway.

Great looks interior and exterior
quiet and great ride
Comfortable Seats
Dislikes:
Having to turn on safety features, should be on by default
Adaptive cruise control, while driving in a 45mph zone all of a sudden it see's speed limit of 80mph
very upsetting when the car just goes from 45 to 80.
Thats because your tolerance is set too high. I used to have my Corsair accelerate to 100 from the posted speed limit of 85 when I hit the resume button. I documented this earlier in this same thread.
Reset the tolerance to about 5 MPH and you are good to go.

I dislike the need to dismiss an alert when getting in the car. Enter car alert hit ok , wife gets in the car alert hit ok, seatbelt connected hit ok, I can't see any reason for this alert system.

thanks there are just to many things to learn.

Like: backup camera on the '22 has a washer to clean it when it is dirty.
Dislike: backup camera on the '23 doesn’t have a washer to clean it when it is dirty.🤔
What? HOW DID I Miss the backup camera washer?

I may have asked that before but how do you activate backup camera washer on a '22 GT?
When you press the rear window washer.

Uhm...

Could you be more precise about where it is located? :cautious:
EDITED! I think you press the wiper stalk forward while the rear wipers are on, (from the little switch on the end of the wiper stalk)

After my extensive earlier analysis much earlier in this thread, I'll add a few things now that 2 and a half years of ownership and 30k miles have passed.
I still like our Corsair a lot, particularly the 2.3 and AWD sport suspension. It's quick, handles well, does fine in the much higher speeds and aggressive traffic here in Texas. Our only change has been to move up to Michelin Sport 4-season tires.
The basic problem, though, is that the Corsair is based on a much cheaper platform: so we get a loud aircon, wind noise, plastic everywhere, a cheap dashboard layout (layout shared with the Focus, Maverick, Escape), an irritatingly slow shifting transmission, fluttering hood, downmarket nav, and other limitations. Either more money needs to be spent to differentiate it or the Corsair should go on a higher level platform. The upcoming replacement for the Mach-E would be better (assuming they fix it's battery issues including slow charging and heat buildup in the engines).
So what will the electric Corsair be based on? The upcoming small EV platform that Ford is talking about? That is inherently cheap and a cost-cutter. That would be a mistake. And pricing: can you really charge another 10 grand for what is basically an Escape with cooled seats?
And, Lincoln, pls do not ruin the styling mid-lifespan with a huge grill update again. It looked classy until the godawful update in 2023.

We have a 24 Corsair Reserve 2. We also looked at others including the Mercedes GLC300 ( yes, I know its bigger) and the Lexus NX. We found the interior more than comparable in quality to the others. The Mercedes had a nicer touch screen but the back seat is much nicer and more comfortable in the smaller Corsair. I mention the Mercedes as that was the one we "almost " bought as we we're down to the final two. As far as noise from the a/c , road noise, etc.. I find this car to be very quiet, quieter than my 21 Explorer which is a more expensive platform. My main area of discontent is the lack of knobs for hvac, tuning, etc... Everything in the screen is not as intuitive to use while driving as a knob that you grow accustomed to. I think that Lincoln has made good use of the Escape platform. I like it so much that I'll likely trade my Explorer in for an Aviator at some point. In my opinion an advantage of the Escape platform is lower maintenance cost as the vehicle gets older. You can go to any Ford dealership anytime and its not hard to do a lot of diy maint. Toyota dealers will not do warranty work on a Lexus and they won't do more than oil changes etc... as the car gets older. Mercedes and BMW, thats another issue. I left out Audi intentionally. While I like the big grill, I did prefer the asthetics of the smaller one and I really do wish that I had the option for the 2.3. The 2.0 is fine but the 2.3 is more powerful as we all know. I'm not concerned about reliability in the 2.0 as this is my third car with that engine and never had a problem. I am aware that the 2.0 has had variations over the years as well as the 2.3.
