Should I buy a 2019 MKT?

Ah! The devil in the details. They were hoping you'd never notice, which is why they pushed you towards it. Shame on them!

Congrats on the MKT! I hope they gave you an even better deal, since you caught them trying to pull a fast one on you.

As always, pictures, or it didn't happen... šŸ˜‰ LOL

Thanks, they had no more room on the MKT but gave me another $750 on my original trade ā€œfor my troublesā€ which, of course, worked for me!

I’m really disappointed with Fordā€˜s client relations but Lincoln, on the other hand, rolled out the red carpet for me when I called to register the MKT in my name... like night and day!

One question if anyone can assist... I got a ā€œtire pressureā€œ warning message yesterday. Driver's side front was low, added some air and all is good. Every vehicle I have driven for the past 10 years let me know which tire was low and provided measured pressure. Is there a menu option to see pressure? I haven’t found anything, perhaps a software update...Thanks!

Congratulations!
On my '11, I only get low pressure warning--I have to figure out which tire & by how much. You would think a Lincoln would have a bit more tech.

At least they gave you something. Good of them.

Sadly, that's one area Ford lagged behind some competition. It's vague, and just says one is reporting low pressure, but can't say which one.

I see yours has the Tech Package. Adaptive cruise control is addicting, once you get the hang of it. My Advanced Park Assist no longer works (self parallel parking). I'm leaning towards a bad switch. No big deal, as I rarely ever used it.

My wife has a Nautilus and I got hooked on the adaptive cruise quickly! Haven’t tried parking yet on the MKT.

Illuminated Sill plates are really scratched up... looks like I can sand/buff them out, anyone have experience/tips?

Wouldn't have a car, anymore, than with adaptive cruise. Fantastic!

Somewhere on this forum is a thread about refinishing the sill plates. Don't remember which Lincoln section it was in, though.

Couldn’t find anything specific on the sill plates so I tried using the same techniques I use for restoring metal on pinball machines and it worked well.

I dislike not knowing which tire is low when I get the warning. And with my luck, it's always the last one I check.

I'm gonna have to buff my sill plates as well. Looks nice.

Had a 2013 with all of the options, including factory tow package. Unfortunately, it was severely rear-ended a month or so ago. No serious injuries as I believe a combination of the beefed up rear frame (tow package) and third-row seating being down kept the damage to the rear and did not reach the front. Loved that car, so found another one (2014) with all the same options (201A, Technology pkg, etc.) except color. Insurance covered everything with a little to spare. So sad they discontinued the MKT -- in my opinion it was the best car Lincoln had (and I also have a Navigator), but they never advertised it. Once I rack up enough miles on the 2014, I intend to buy another one!

New here and seeking some info on an MKT. I've researched the MKT quite a bit and am looking for some input from previous and existing owners on whether or not I should buy one or head for the hills. First concern is the fact that it's discontinued which will likely reduce future values faster. There seems to be plenty 2019 MKT's on the used market. I've found one that I like that appears to have all available options with 25K miles for $26K. Considering the new price was over $50K, paying $26K for one that is a year old seems like a no-brainer... what's the rub?

Any thoughts, input, guidance is appreciated. Thanks!
I had a 2010, that I bought in 2015 with 7k mile. Basically new. I just traded it with 70k mi for a Continental, because the dealer offered me an incredible trade value. Otherwise, I’d still be driving it. I kept it in near new condition. It was an excellent vehicle. It was just right for all applications. I really missed my fridge, when I took my daughter back to school, this fall. Don’t get me wrong. I love the Continental. I fell in love with the 30 way seats.

Be very aware of the trade in value. I was blown away by how much is lost on trade in. As a second owner, I think it was a great value, but I figured a couple years into ownership, that I was probably gonna be stuck with it, until paid off. In fact, mine was in such great shape, I really made up my mind that I was giving it to my son, when he became a driver. I must’ve caught the dealership on a day that they hadn’t sold any cars.

Thanks again all. The one I’m looking at is a Reserve with the Elite package, 201a. History report shows it was a rental which isn’t a huge surprise. I’ll likely go for it, tomorrow!
I've only had my 2019 reserve black on black for 2 weeks but it's a delicious cruiser šŸ‘šŸ™‚
