I got it also. Do all of you still have recall 24C43 listed on the website? It shows that also as 'fix not available'. I thought that one was closed out by disabling the feature.
No, for me, that recall no longer shows. The new pedestrian one is the only one showing.I got it also. Do all of you still have recall 24C43 listed on the website? It shows that also as 'fix not available'. I thought that one was closed out by disabling the feature.
Thanks, that was my question. I thought most others had some update done that erased this one. That's why I was surprised to see it saying 'not available yet'. I think it was available earlier this year. No, for me, that recall no longer shows. The new pedestrian one is the only one showing.
Hi o_mlly. The Pedestrian alert is a safety feature/sound the vehicle will make, in order to alert pedestrians that a vehicle is approaching. My Nautilus ('24 Hybrid Black Label) has several unusual sounds that I have come to just ignore. Can I trigger the Pedestrian Alert to know what that sounds like?
Roll down your windows. Drive less than 18 miles per hour in a manner that the gas engine is not running (i.e. drive on a flat surface or coast downhill). You should hear the electronic humming/whirring sound. If you cannot hear it, stick your head out the window. Gradually accelerate to above 18 miles per hour, but do so that the gas engine still does not engage. The humming/whirling sound should go away. That humming/whirring noise is the Pedestrian Alert System, it goes away at higher speeds. Additionally, when a hybrid reverses, there will be a noticeable beeping noise that differs from the humming noise you hear when going forward at low speeds. This may or may not be part of the official Pedestrian Alert System. Only the whirring/humming sound when driving forward is described in the 2024 Owners Manual under Pedestrian Alert System. The reverse beeping is not discussed in that section. My Nautilus ('24 Hybrid Black Label) has several unusual sounds that I have come to just ignore. This is simple Start your vehicle and put the transmission in reverse and as you back you will hear the pedestrian alert.
I hear it when backing up.
The reverse beeping is different than the forward pedestrian warning sound. This is simple Start your vehicle and put the transmission in reverse and as you back you will hear the pedestrian alert.
Some of us are talking about the back up warning sound which was the original post. I have heard the high pitched whine sound in the past although i cannot say i have heard it recently.I think you guys are confusing the backup "blong" with the spaceship whirr when moving at low speeds in hybrid mode. The issue is the spaceship whirr has gone away for some folks. I can confirm it has for me.
Actually the original post (from me) referred to the Pedestrian Alert System. Which my owners manual says is the forward motion whirring sound. Someone else introduced the reverse beeping into the thread afterwards. Some of us are talking about the back up warning sound which was the original post. Trying not to gang up on folks, but while it is what you are talking about, it was not the original post nor the subject of the recall. Some of us are talking about the back up warning sound which was the original post.
