Sharing an update to my previous post about build quality issues. The dealer had my vehicle for 1 month and thankfully gave me a loaner. Now its back and they said that its a known issue of the cab body flexing causing vehicle noise . They said they had to stiffen up the joints to reduce flexing that was causing rattling. This is not what you would expect to hear for a flagship model from Ford !!!! . Thankfully what ever they did has “mostly” stoppered the body noise issues I reported . Also in this forum I see people post their thoughts on what can Lincoln do better so this is coming from a Lincoln owner experience of 2 years , and also experiencing the most recent 2025 model ( had a loaner) -
1. The large pillar to pillar screen is mostly a fancy gimmic . I didn’t not see the features and layout of such a large screen to be useful of functional.
2. Please bring back some physical buttons. It is such a pain to do everything on a touchscreen. Most painful of all adjusting side view mirrors. It was so painful on the touch panels on the steering wheel to try adjus side view mirrors !!! Adjusting mirror while you are driving is nearly impossible.
3. The 30 way adjustable seats is also a fancy gimmick and does not feel comfortable after driving for extended periods. It needs more cushioning .
4. Lincoln should also look at the rear tail light styling . It looks so ugly than previous designs .
5. Seriously consider bringing in hybrid drive train that ford is planning for the new F150 that is replacing the outgoing lightning . (Electric with the range extender motor giving 500+ miles of range)
6. Adaptive air ride suspension (must have for vehicle of this class)
7. 24 in wheels as standard
8. Blue cruse should be life time not a subscription
9. Seriously look at pricing options to bring it to a lower and attractive price point .
To be honest , I am not going to be a returning customer unless I see some serious design improvements and quality improvements and wont recommend this vehicle to any one unless these improvements happen.
5. Ford is moving away from battery powered vehicles.
Government incentives are/have expired in the 4th quarter 2025
Consumer demand has dropped even with the incentives
Charging infrastructure is not completely there for support
The vehicles in general are more expensive to buy and maintain over the long run than traditional gas powered vehicles. Which means lower income groups will tend to not make this purchase.
The market got too competitive too fast.
Does that mean the battery car sales in some manner is over? I don't think so. But this powertrain will continue to be a niche market. In the 3rd quarter 2025, electric vehicles had 10% market share. The most to date. However, there was a small rush to buy before the incentives went away. It will be interesting to see what the sales are moving forward.
Ford Motor Company has made it very clear they do not build vehicles for every market. Ford is more of a niche car company that builds mass produced vehicles in certain markets. To drive the competition, Ford has further reduced the choices (options) of many vehicles. This builds efficiency in vehicle production.
This has shown up in increased sales for current models versus previous years. And profits that have been growing since COVID.
However, as this thread has pointed out, Ford has made some blunders. These will be addressed.
Ford spent a pile of money gearing up for automotive battery production. Much of that is being repurposed to other industries.
The automotive market is so consistent
in change, sometimes it is difficult to follow. Especially for any company that has to spend billions to bring a product to market. Market shifts, and another billion or six is needed.
