Jerky At Slow Speeds.

It is a software issue per actual Lincoln dealerships.
Do you know any specific details about that? A Service Bulletin number perhaps? Something to point to when one visits the dealership service department is always helpful.

As usual, they will test drive the vehicle to find it. Example at what accelerated speed and/or RPM does it occur most times will help service tech.

Following. I’m curious to hear if there is a fix for this issue.
I've decided to wait until they know more about the problem. It is over an hour to the closest dealership and they are running short on loaner vehicles. I'm just going to turn off the auto/start each time and live with it for now. My gas mileage has also improved. Hopefully I can get this addressed soon.

Hi, I also have the same problem on my 2020 Nautilus 2.0 FWD and I been taking it to the dealer in different occasions but still have the same issue. I imagine that Lincoln knows and will eventually find a solution for this annoying problem.

Mine is still having problems even with the auto/start turned off. I may try to take it in next month. It is just a pain to get it there and run the risk of not getting the issue solved!

My Nautilus 2.0 FWD is very difficult to operate smoothly at low speeds, such as parking lots or ceeping traffic. My dealer did an update on the transmission to address bumpy downshifts, which helped a bit. Still, slow driving is jerky most of the time as you try to vary the speed. Just can't seem to smoothly give it a little more throttle.
Anyone else noticing this, or any ideas what to get checked by the dealer?

I am having the same issue

Your on the right path but saying slow speed is not quantitative enough. Track at what RPMs the slow points. Let’s say it occurred at 30 mi / hr at 1,200 rpm and 40 mi/hr @ 2,000 rpm. It is a software issue but it could be not only the transmission update, but also software update on say the fuel injection. It is solvabl, nothing broken but the regional engineer needs specificity. Also after you provide this data, ask dealer if “Regional Engineer” is in the loop, if not, request that. Good Luck!

Creating a new thread hepls as well. Stating model year, engine and mileage.

Otherwise we have to dig the data first to indertand the problem

I have the same issue with my 2021 Nautilus 2.7 AWD. My dealer says ,they are waiting for manufacture's response, how to fix this problem. It is very annoying to drive in slow traffic.

Whatever happened to taking your vehicle for service and having the techs/mechanics fix the issue without calling for a "lifeline"? 1661967320004.webp

I have the same problem with my 2022 Nautilus Black Label. Dealer tech took it out for a drive, checked using the OBD scanner, reported nothing out of the ordinary noted. So either they didn't really check anything, did check it but they are incompetent, or the transmission is not designed correctly. After 60 years of designing automatic transmissions this is the best they can do?

^^ Anyone take the vehicle for a test drive with you the owner and confirm the concern with you the owner of the vehicle?
And an effective test drive is done by the owner driving and the service advisor or shop forman in the vehicle. The dealership tech stays in the dealership shop working on cars.

The transmission and the whole power train package is rather complex with a lot of different operating strategies. Knowing when and how the vehicle displays the concern is an absolute valuable piece in diagnosing the issue! Without that there is a very high degree of non-repair or repairing something that is not related to the drivability concern the owner is experiencing.

If that is the complete story, and usually it is not, fixing the vehicle is not going to happen.

So the issue is at slow speeds, OK?
Steady slow speeds
Decelerating slow speeds
Accelerating slow speeds. Slow or rapid acceleration
Hot engine
Cold engine
Ambient temp make a difference
Humid or not

A very long time ago I worked in dealership service department management
The title of this thread was written by an owner and/or a non-professional of the auto service industry. That's OK .... and ....
If one of my service advisors wrote that on a repair ticket, their job performance would take a serious hit.
The description is no where near clear enough for a service tech to take the vehicle and make an effective diagnosis of the issue and then repair it.

As I mention above, I had the same problem. ( 2021 2.7L AWD) My dealer "fixed " that and 1 week later the whole transmission blow up on the highway, @ about 110km/h or 60mph. Now it's in their shop for last 4 months waiting for more and more parts. I'm very upset with a Lincoln. This car had some other issues as well.

I have the 2.0 AWD. You can feel it shifting up and when you slow down to stop you can feel it shifting down. I’ve only had this car two weeks not even 200 miles on it, I will wait a little more and then I will take it in but it’s frustrating that a car that cost this much money drives like that.
This is a software issue that will involve your dealer communicating with the regional office’s engineer. It is solvable but I would suggest you reference the approximate RPM from your left tachometer gage. For me it happened at around 1500 rpm & 2500 rpm. Good Luck!

I have a similar problem with my 2022 Nautilus Black Label 4wd, but in the reverse scenario. When accelerating from a dead stop and while still in first to second gear, the car lurches, shudders, and hangs back. It is NOT a smooth acceleration. I took it in to the service center and their transmission expert took the car out for a long drive and reported that the powertrain is functioning normally, i.e., the way it was designed to, and there is nothing wrong with it. And nothing that could be fixed via firmware update, according to them. It is NOT a matter of the system "learning" my driving habits, any longer.

Sixty years of designing automatic transmissions and this is the best they can do?

The transmission in my first car, the magnificent 1964 Buick Electra 225, performed better than this.

I am shocked and very disappointed in Lincoln.

Keep in mind that there doesn't seem to be a great volume of complaints about this issue. All parts are subject to failure at some time or another no matter who manufactures them. Also, I would feel very confident stating that the 1964 transmission wasn't anywhere as complicated as the 2022 transmission. I don't know for sure if these transmissions still have that adaptive learning like earlier models but you could always try disconnecting the negative battery cable for a period of time and see if that helps. Just remember that you may lose some saved memory settings. It might also be an issue with the PTU.

I am still having the same problem. Took it in over a year ago and dealer could not find an issue. I notice it more in damp , humid or rainy weather. Mine is leased so I’m not going to fight it unless the car is not drivable. It is very disappointing though for a Lincoln!
