How to auto lock when walking away from Corsair?

What? You mean to say you are not interested in new features just because Lincoln defaulted them to be disabled? That may be a wise "Opt-In" way for manufacturers to introduce some new things, but like my dad's recent discovery on his 8 month old VW Arteon he had a wireless charging pad and wireless CarPlay connection when I set my iPhone on the pad; he never would have seen it using his old Samsung without the inductive charging feature. Now he has a new iPhone that is making his driving life much easier... That's another "new" feature for 2022 Lincoln's, but not quite enough to get me to trade up from a 2021 Corsair, just yet - I'll still hook up the USB cable for now. Besides my local dealer like many doesn't have much in that model year yet to sell.

Is that cost-effective? I ask because if the 2023 Corsair had a redesigned infotainment system I would think of trading up but not sure what kind of loss I would take.

Yes and no. I’d wait for 2023 but that will take a reversal of the stock market. I’m not real happy with my Fidelity account right now and that’s the opposite of when it helped me jump up from Kia to Lincoln 9 months ago.

Nothing wrong with a 4 year old Sportage except I was anxious for the 360 camera! Got it and love it. The rest of the Corsair is superior but the camera was the main reason I pulled the trigger.

I've never seen or heard of a Ford or Lincoln vehicle with auto-unlock or auto lock. I'd rather control that feature myself since I would want to make sure I locked it myself rather than trust some gadget to remember.

Most folks will order new, because dealer allocation is so sparse, from what I hear. I know 2023 will be refreshed. Larger screen and maybe a new powertrain. I like the current setup for reliability, but an extra 20-30 HP would be great if the mileage stayed the same OR increased.

There are dozens of options buried in any car in the various modules. Some enthusiast forums have many discussions of such things. The Ford F150 comes to mind. I have seen some in other Lincoln forums. There may be some buried here as well.

In any case, I found the lock options in the Body Control Module. Any mechanic or hobbyist with a decent scan tool can access them. Of course the dealer can as well.

I have no clue whether these autolock options actually work or if they would cause your car to go thermonuclear. I just thought it was interesting that they were there and all disabled. As others have pointed out there does not appear to be any ordinary user interface to control the options.

I doubt there is any new hardware involved since the car already talks to key fobs and it already locks and unlocks doors.

If you have a working relationship with some technical person at a dealer that would be the safest way to pursue this.

I was born in New York City but only lived there 9 months as an infant where Shea Stadium was built after they tore down our apartment building and now Shea Stadium is gone with something else there.

Not yet. I was in for my first oil change and service the other day and my dealer was unable to set the feature for me. They also said if I was able to use the Forscan tool to enable the Walk-Away locking feature in the Body Control module it would not void my warranty.

I’ll post an update after the Forscan is delivered and I try it.

My dealer says this is not a feature, even on the Aviator. I would still be curious to see a video from the OP showing this happening. But, I doubt that will happen.

I wasn't as successful as with the engine cover. I bought a Forscan device, but I couldn't make it work with the software the seller provided, and I got a refund. So no progress to report.

To put it the way my younger niece and nephew would..."It is not a thing".

I'm with Black Label on the OP jumping in to let us know more specifically how it worked as originally stated in loose terms. But kudos to you for sounding more authoritative than the OP who got us spun up, and my foolish purchase of the Forscan that was junk. Well the hardware seemed OK, but the provided software didn't work at all. The seller preferred to refund me the price rather than support the failure to operate.
