How to auto lock when walking away from Corsair?

I'm with Black Label on the OP jumping in to let us know more specifically how it worked as originally stated in loose terms. But kudos to you for sounding more authoritative than the OP who got us spun up, and my foolish purchase of the Forscan that was junk. Well the hardware seemed OK, but the provided software didn't work at all. The seller preferred to refund me the price rather than support the failure to operate.

Hi Eric. I don't think my reply will prevent the OP from coming back to reply if they wish. :geek:

Just figured I would let you folks know 'It ain't a thing". ;)

Good luck.

Yeah, I get it. Two things I really liked on the RDX, (and our CR-V, both gone)...Walk away auto lock, and auto parking brake engage. I love the Corsair without these features, can you imagine how I would feel about it WITH them?

I will muscle-train to engage the parking brake, then lock the car after exiting. :)

I see. Mine does well on my Nav, but I have to tap the sensor on the door handle. To clarify, you are saying you don't have to do that on your Aviator and the doors lock, anyway?

Not trying to be difficult here, I just have never heard of a feature where the doors lock by just walking away.
I hav a 2017 MKX that auto locked when I walked away & mirrors folded in as well but I don’t seem to have this in my 2020 Corsair Reserve…..

Some Buicks have that automatic door locking feature since around 2015. It's set on a timer set in their infotainment settings menu.

Okay. What I find in quick search is that Buick has the same feature as Lincoln, meaning the automatic lock feature is when you reach a certain speed or a certain amount of time after starting the engine. Not saying you are incorrect, of course, just that I can't find this feature so far anywhere.

I owned a 2016 Buick LaCrosse that had that feature so I know first hand. :)

I did find something. I guess they call it Passive Door Lock.

I'm not sure why this is such a great feature, but I wonder if people on GM forums ask why their vehicles don't have some features that Fords/Lincolns have.

But, as I discovered in my new Nav, Lincoln will listen to feedback. My front camera now comes on automatically if the park aid assist activates. That was not a feature on my 2020.

Any bets on how many people on GM and other make forums complain about that feature and want to disable it because they think it is annoying or activates the door locks too much? :ROFLMAO:

When I had the Buick I had to set it manually, it was off by default.

Hi gang. Unless the operation has changed in the last year or so with the AutoLock feature: When enabled, the AutoLock feature on our Lincolns works in a very simple and straightforward manner (as explained in our Owners Manuals).
It locks the doors when we reach ~12 mph. No timer, simply ~12 mph.

And if something has changed in the last year or so, it reinforces the fact that we all need to check our own particular Owners Manuals, in case features change, are added, deleted etc.

Good luck.

This walk away auto lock feature was active on my 2022 Corsair since new. I agree I don’t see it in the owners manual or in the car’s settings. I was surprised how cool it is the first few times it worked and just assumed it’s a standard feature. Once I leave the car and walk about 40’ away with the fob the lights flash and the mirrors turn in locking the car. When I return to within 40’ with the fob the car unlocks, mirrors turn out. Maybe Ford has to turn it on with the computer programming?

I've never seen or heard of a Ford or Lincoln vehicle with auto-unlock or auto lock. I'd rather control that feature myself since I would want to make sure I locked it myself rather than trust some gadget to remember.
You can still lock it yourself if that makes you feel more confident, but if you happen to forget it lock the vehicle automatically

Really? I have a '22 Corsair Reserve, and I would LOVE for this to work on my Corsair. I guess I will have to ask at my dealer...Here's hoping!

Mine auto locks when I drive away! I don't need to protect me, I need to protect anything I leave in the vehicle! Yes, I DO lock it when I park it, but auto lock is much better! Especially when I have been used to if for several years on a different brand.

Really.
Yes they all have driveaway auto lock as well. That you can disable if you don’t like it. It helps protect carjackings, kidnappings, robberies, passengers from inadvertently opening doors which may result in damage or injury, and it adds safety protection in a collision or rollover, etc.

Hi Car-guy. It would help others immensely if you would post a photo of the Driver Information Center setting page in your vehicle which shows these extremely elusive settings.

Thanks and good luck.

Mine does not auto-lock and I have every package offered on the GT model. No setting in the system I can find.

I have been a multi-poster in this thread, as I would really like to have this function. My hopes were heightened again, when Car-guy28 posted. I went to my dealer today, and the shop foreman took the car in the back, hooked up what ever they have, and came back saying it wasn't possible to turn on any walk away locking. He did find an update to my PCM...which he applied. No idea what it does, nor did he!

Sigh. I now have muscle memory to lock the doors when I exit, but I sure do miss the walk away autolock!

I think I know what's going on. My car "auto-locks" if I hit the lock button after I turn it off.

My question is this: for those whose vehicles do autolock, are you literally getting out the car after turning the car off and it autolocks once the keys are too far away? Or are you hitting the button as i do?
