Has anyone notice lane centering not centered?

Use your signal lights (which i do religiously anyways) while using Lane Keeping Assist, or it'll think you're leaving your lane and vibrate the wheel and want to steer you back. Actually a good way of training folks to use their damn signal lights.

used ACC for the first time with my new Avi over the weekend. Lane Centering didn't appear to be "on". Lane Keeping Assist was on and would bump me back and forth between the left and right lane lines. Is there a way to turn "on" Lane Centering? The button on the end of the left stalk is for Lane Keep Assist....didn't see any options in the setup for Lane Centering. The video that was just posted above is too generic for our Avi. I know, I know...I should go look in the manual. But this answer could help others too! Thanks!

Hi wwuk1. Yes, you need to use the steering wheel control to enable Lane Centering, while using ACC, as discussed earlier in this thread. See posts #30 and #43 specifically. But reading through the others would not hurt either.

Good luck.

The easiest solution to all of this is to just use your own driving skills to stay between the lines and leave the features OFF as I do. I've managed to do it for 60 years without help. :D

where's the fun in that? paid for it, might as well use it! (just joking around, i agree with you for the most part!)

BBF2530, thanks! you are correct, post #30 had what I was looking for! I thought that was just another lane keep assist button as well. great knowledge here!

Can somebody tell me how to turn the power steering and hydraulic brake features off? I want to drive the car using my own driving skills.

I am not sure I understand your post. I don't believe power steering or hydraulic brakes can be turned off. Are you talking about driver assistance functions?

Hi rjabend. I agree with peterk9. I assumed/believe ChuckL was having a little fun with the thread.

Good luck.

I wouldn't have believed Peter's post if you hadn't agreed with it

On another light note: Considering you thought ChuckL was serious, who knows what you may believe.

Good luck. 🍻

So... our last trip back from North Carolina was this past Saturday. I drove enough to test the lane centering more. I have two observations - 1) I like it as much as (if not more than) the last time when I noted how to actually turn on the centerning feature, and... 2) at the very high speeds I noted no rocking this time like before. It's almost as if it did some learning and moderated the input at the higher velocities.

I think now we've come full circle. I couldn't understand / figure out what we had when I initiated the post back in late August. We had great input from others to slap me in the face on how to push the right buttons. I like the way the buttons work. The lane centering is quite a bit improved over my 2015 Hyundai Genesis 5.0 sedan.

As far as I'm concerned we can close this post from further comment!
