My Corsair is in constant deep sleep mode. Had it serviced no issues found. After talking with dealership and Lincoln it seems I don't drive enough? Suggested option is trickle down charger. I don't want a car you have to plug in. I am upset with this issue. Any one have any other suggestions. I feel I should have been told this since I don't put many miles on my vehicle. I love the Corsair, but now what do I do?

Hi tgara. Advance notice...I am not trying to be a wise guy here. Where did you hear of or come across the acronym "BOZEVA"? I Google it and come up with nothing much of substance other than "Bozeva" is a Bulgarian surname 😂. BOZEVA - Google Search

Are you referring to a type of electric vehicle? It seems there are essentially 4 recognized types of electric vehicles: BEV, PHEV, HEV and Hydrogen Fuel Cell. types of electric vehicles - Google Search

Or does BOZEVA refer to some sort of electric "apparatus"?

I did not spend a lot of time looking, so it is certainly possible I missed something while researching. Can you point us to something explaining what a "BOZEVA" is?

Thanks and good luck.
Thats exactly why I had to accept I was clueless.

All remote features, such as starting your vehicle from anywhere after it has gone into deep sleep mode are deactivated. That's one disadvantage. Second, after I finally got back to my vehicle, and started it up, I could no longer open any when the vehicle was locked. Thirdly, the vehicle is supposed to light up upon approaching it when it's locked. It no longer did that. Fourth, I constantly kept getting an error message just before I started my vehicle that said "either turn your vehicle on, or shut the engine off", or something to that effect. Even the dealership couldn't figure it out!
With the vehicle being just a year old, and only 4500 miles on it, the final solution was to put a new battery in it, and being about 100 miles to the nearest dealership, I ended up paying for it myself.
I will never buy another vehicle that has the deep sleep mode feature!!!
I've had many other Lincolns and Jaguars that have sat for months at a time, and never had a problem!!!
This was just my experience.... I'm not saying for some it's probably a good feature. Just not for me!
Same issue with my 2021 Corsair GT. I get constantly locked out of remote features while the car is "preserving the battery". No remote start in Chicago's freezing weather. Tons of messages on Lincoln Way app. I hate it, We only have 1600 miles on the car! We are finally in by back negotiations for that and 240V no changing. Good luck!

Hi BL. Okay...let's run with that theory! ;)

Just try not to be such a bozeva about it next time. 😂

Good luck.
I've been called worse, but not lately lol!

Recently while driving our GT in normal mode on battery power with plenty of range left, the engine suddenly came on accompanied by a message saying in effect that it had been too long since the engine had been run in normal mode. (?) Well, okay GT, you're the boss. Whatever it takes to make sure that everything is charged up and functioning properly I guess.

Yep, not to worry. Same here. I've seen the ICE kick on for reasons displayed as "normal operation" and "system performance". Sounds like you saw "low engine use" (?), a mode discussed here in the manual. More than charging the 12V battery, actually swishing around the oil.

I know a few members of this forum have installed trickle chargers. I've been considering it, but haven't pulled the trigger yet. I'm still reeling after learning the GT battery is under the spare tire! (I presume that's where I'd mount the charger. I still don't know what is in the golf cart size battery/little black box that is under the hood.)

Thanks for the information, that's good to know. And yeah, needing a trickle charger to keep things functioning properly? What's wrong with this picture? I don't want to clamp anything on that battery under the spare tire if I don't have to considering what it takes to access it. No idea either what the exact function of that 12 volt black box under the hood is. I'll just have to take time to find out.

A friend at DARPA told me this was the new acronym being used by NASA and the military... Everything in the USGovt is an acronym, so I'm not surprised.

Thats exactly why I had to accept I was clueless.

I think we can all agree on that... :geek:

My guess is @tgara made up BOZEVA as a joke.

I never joke about BOZEVAs, brah.... ;)

My nautilus has the same problem but the dealership says nothing is wrong. I spent the whole winter not being able to remote start my car. It is in sleep mode every day. I drive over 14,000 mile a year and do long trips weekly. I’m very frustrated

My aviator is also in constant deep sleep mode and I drive it daily to local shops. I was also just told I don’t drive it enough and they suggested I go out and start it at least once a week? How does that even make sense if I’m driving it daily? on the phone call diagnosis I asked again about the noises I hear when I’m outside in the driveway and his response was he didn’t know about that. Well sorry, I mentioned it to the service manager when my car got there. It’s constantly doing something in the driveway which I believe is draining the battery. My battery tested low, but not low enough to replace it.

Hi ItsMichelle. Although we can't be sure how far you drive "daily to local shops" and/or rule out some sort of electrical issue, short trips do not charge the battery (enough), and in some cases can even drain it more than it charges.

Also, some noises can be normal if you have your IKT keyfob on your person when you are "outside in the driveway". The vehicle is sensing your presence and certain sensors/modules are *waking up*.

Also, if you really want your vehicle to be checked for issues, set up a service appointment and bring it in for a proper diagnosis and repair if necessary. Phone calls are not the way to do it. A phone call will rarely result in any sort of useful diagnosis for a complicated issue. The answers you received over the phone are exactly the types of answers you will receive over the phone. Make an appointment for service.

Again, none of that information rules out the possibility of some sort of problem, but if you are driving very short distances only, Deep Sleep Mode can be normal. Or there can be parasitic electrical drain. Or your battery may be weak/failing. And if the battery tested low, the battery needs to be replaced. But you need to bring your vehicle in to be properly diagnosed.

Let us know how you make out and good luck.

The “they” in this scenario is the service repair center where my car was IN for diagnosis. The “over the phone” part was when they called me after “diagnosing(?)” it. As it’s been mentioned a few times in these forums, Lincoln took care of the key fob approach issue but no, I do not carry it around in my pocket as most of the time I do not even have pockets and also, I’m not the only one who hears these noises. My husband and neighbor have heard them as well and before any more assumptions are made, my fob is kept far away from my car. The deep sleep issue has happened when I’ve driven over state lines and gone inside a store as well. Again, they, the Lincoln service department, said my battery does not test low enough for replacement.

Hi Michelle. Perhaps I am misunderstanding the tone of your previous reply...But I am not sure why the seeming attitude. We are not a Lincoln run website. We are simply fellow Lincoln owners and enthusiasts trying to help others. Plenty of people here are willing to help, if treated politely.

That being said...Complete information helps. No "assumptions" were made. Assistance was politely offered despite minimal information. It was even clearly stated that "Again, none of that information rules out the possibility of some sort of problem". In other words, your vehicle certainly may have a problem, but it is hard to tell with the information given.

You initially only mentioned you "drive it daily to local shops". Now you have added you "drive it over state lines". That does not tell us much either. The "state line" could be across the street from your house.
How far do you drive on a daily basis...in miles? We do not need an exact number, just a good approximation.

And unless we ask, we can not know whether you have your keys on you when you hear the noises. And we can not know what your husband and neighbors hear, when it was not previously mentioned.

And "again"...I read and understood what you stated the "Lincoln service department" told you. And I am informing you if the battery tested "weak", it needs to be replaced. You can be proactive and politely insist they replace an admittedly "weak" battery under warranty, or you can be gaslighted and wait until your vehicle is out of warranty to pay (out of your own pocket) for a new battery when this one completely fails later.

After attempting to provide you information and assist you with a minimum of provided information and blank spots...I hope you can get your vehicle fixed.

Good luck.

Im at 22k miles. Since Jan 21. I've NEVER seen that message. I even work only 3 miles away. Since July 18th, I've NEVER seen that message. I drive 30 miles one-way to church. The drive back is ICE only. I've also done a couple long-distance trips. Again, I've never had that message or trouble. Best of luck.

I used to have the same issue with my 2008 Ford Sport Trac Adrenalin. I drove it maybe once a month if lucky. I kept getting weak battery messages. I figured out I needed to add a trickle charger. It worked fine. It's an easy way to keep the battery at top level. It's not a vehicle defect. I hooked one up to my 22 Corsair GT when I got it but have not seen that message or deep sleep mode and stopped trickle charging as I seem to be driving enough keep the battery topped up. If I stop driving as much, I will just easily hook up the trickle charger which takes all of 2 seconds.

I know and understand you aren’t Lincoln. Maybe the tone is the way you seem to talk down to me? After stating the service department told me I don’t drive it enough as well, you assumed it was over the phone and not the same in person service as the person I was replying to Even though I stated in my reply that it was at the service department. Perhaps this site isn’t for me, or if it is, after I remove myself, I’ll come back as a man. Have a good day.

I think if you go back and re-read the comments and then go look up comments from bbf, you will see that he is only trying to help.

Stick around. It’s a good site. We get the frustration. Maybe you a get some help with the issue.

Hi ItsMichelle. First of all, I have no idea whether you are a man or woman and don't care. Screen names don't mean anything. Michelle could be a wife, girlfriend or the name of your car. And I was not talking down to you. I simply tried to help you, with the information you provided.

And reread your first post from the perspective of being us, not being you or knowing what you are trying to say. It was short of information and did not make it very clear you had your vehicle in and looked at. Whether you realize it or not, "I was also just told I don’t drive it enough and they suggested I go out and start it at least once a week? How does that even make sense if I’m driving it daily? on the phone call diagnosis I asked again about the noises I hear when I’m outside in the driveway and his response was he didn’t know about that. Well sorry, I mentioned it to the service manager when my car got there." is not clear on what happened when, what was told to you over the phone, what was told to you in person, who told you what, when, and if your car was actually tested and diagnosed, other than the battery (see about that below) etc. etc. It may be clear to you, but not to those of use who were not there with you.
Therefore, we provide information and ask questions in an effort to help. It is not talking down to you.

As can be seen from this and other threads, you are not the first person (man or woman;)) with this "Deep Sleep Mode" issue. Some people do have a parasitic drain in their vehicle which needs to be diagnosed and repaired. Others do not, and simply do not understand that modern vehicles simply are more battery intensive than older ones, need to be driven more to keep the battery charged, and "Deep Sleep Mode" is not necessarily a bad thing. It is designed to allow the Battery Management System to protect the battery state of charge, as explained in the Owners Manual.

I did not even give it a thought as to whether you were a man or a woman. Keep this screen name or come back as a man, you would have received and will receive the same reply. Because it is an effort to help you. And if you look at all the replies in this thread or others about the "Deep Sleep Mode", you will see everyone gets similar replies about Deep Sleep Mode, how much driving they do, having their car properly diagnosed etc.

The battery diagnosis is a perfect example. Your Dealership told you the battery is weak, but not in need of replacement. So I tried to help you by letting you know that is a BS answer from your Dealership, and if it tested "weak", they need to replace it now. Under warranty. That reply is an effort to help you.

As Black Label stated, "Stick around. It’s a good site." Hope you can get any issues corrected by the Dealership.

You also have a good day and good luck.

I know we have beaten this topic to death but I wanted to add some tidbits:
1. These cars are computers on wheels and have a aways on 4G Modem that draws power 24x7
2. The alarm system is always on and drawing power
3. The lights welcome you and that's because the vehicle senses your presence with an always on sensor
4. If you have 3rd party security cameras, like I do, they are running whenever they sense movement around your car and they draw power. I have a front camera and rear camera. They both are on whenever anyone comes nearby. They are running down he battery as well.
5. To prevent the deep sleep, I use an easy to install trickle charger. I only use it when I know I won't be driving the car for a week or more. I will use it when I may be listening to music in the car or while waxing the car to make sure the battery is at top charge level. It's so easy to use as needed. I had the same issue on my 2016 Ford Fusion and my 2008 Ford Sport Trac Adrenalin. I worked at home so driving was not very frequent. My husband was retired as well so he ran the weekly chores. Highly suggest you bite the bullet and buy the charger and hook it up. No big deal. If you want me to post the URL to the Amazon page for my charger, I will do that. If you want help instructing you how to install it, let me know. We can have a video chat and I can walk you through it and show you my installation. Easy stuff here and gives you peace of mind. This is not a vehicle shortcoming at all.
6. I always put my car keys into a lead lined bag and hang it up. That way, the car is not always sensing the keys which are 30 feet away. I have the second key hidden in the car also inside a lead lined bag in case I forget the key and my iPhone goes haywire or dead battery.

I'm anal about this stuff and so you may be too. It's ok.
