I emailed this to my Lincoln service advisor and he passed it on to the repair people. Supposedly all the steps shown on here have been followed and the update still fails for my car. Hence why they are waiting on Lincoln Engineering to come up with a solution. I now know I am not the only one facing this issue, so hopefully Lincoln will get on this quickly. But what a mess they have created. We really are Beta testers.

Update to my earlier post.

Just spent a 1/2 hour on the phone with a concierge who was extremely knowledgeable and forth coming.

She said there is a fix for the known "easy exit/easy entrance" problem and that is due this quarter or next.

Apparently a number of cars have had the rotors replaced without this solving the groaning noise problem so
maybe they haven't a cure yet. She was aware of 3 new part numbers for the rotors and all have been used to no avail. She is getting the technical team involved in my case.

And, just to add to the list of concerns; we just started using the heat and are getting a musty, organic smell.

Still, we just love how this car drives!
Hi Stmbtwilli. Concerning the musty smell now that you are using the heat:
When not using A/C, do you still keep the climate control system powered on so that it is venting air into the vehicle?

If not, you should. Having air venting through the system helps dry up any residual moisture in the climate control system ducting, therefore helping to avoid musty/moldy odors.

If you already do that, then every once in a while run the climate control system on venting alone (from outside air, not recirculate), with the fan set to a higher speed (on high is best), to help dry up any residual moisture. See if that helps.

If that does not help, then schedule a service appointment with your Lincoln Dealership to have the issue properly diagnosed and corrected.

Oh, one other thing: Check and clear the fresh air inlet/inlets, which are usually located in the cowl area, between the windshield and hood.
Leaves and other debris can obstruct fresh air intake, which may result in musty/moldy odors.

Let us know how you make out and good luck.

Got mine back yesterday after getting the infotainment and window recall updates done. I agree with Hinckley in that most will be disappointed. What I have noticed:

1) My Sirius radio no longer cuts out for minutes at a time. That was my one big complaint, but it's working so I'm happy. However, on my way home I couldn't use the steering wheel buttons to change radio stations as it was missing. It's back now today though.
2) The blinker has a different sound.
3) I only have to select the driving mode once and not keep having to press it to get it to stick.
4) The seat belt window that pops up now has a brown background.

The steering buttons not changing SXM stations has been an intermittent, but regular problem for me since I took delivery back in March and, as you say, it was not fixed with this update. There are a couple of workarounds that I have discovered, but the easiest is to mute the audio for a couple of seconds from the crystal control knob. When you unmute the audio, the steering wheel controls should work as intended again. Aaaargh. 😵‍💫

Got mine back this morning with 24B54 applied and new rotors. New rotors are quiet and seem to actually grab better than the old ones. As to the infotainment update, I agree with Hinckley and ZonaZooKeeper, most that were looking for any new featured or fixes for some of the more annoying bugs will be disappointed. In addition to the items Hinckley and ZonaZooKeeper have listed, I noticed the following:

1) I know this was mentioned already but worth restating since several have complained about it, the ETA and distance to destination are now both shown on the 48” display along with traffic indications as long as a navigation to a destination is active.

2) The backgrounds and colors of several of the alerts have changed included the alert to put your hand on the wheel when adaptive cruise is active. Personally, I like the new colors better because the contrast is higher.

3) Maybe it’s me but Blue Cruise seems to activate quicker and does not seem to be as sensitive to eyes on the road as it was before the update.

4) Previous to the update, when I changed the volume level of the navigation prompt it would not stick. The next time it spoke it would go back to the default value. That seems to be fixed now with the update.

5) Since someone mentioned that their auto fold mirrors stopped working when locking the car after the update, I just want to say that mine still work fine. Makes me wonder if that was just an anomaly of some sort for that person.

On an additional note, when I picked up my Nautilus, the tech that did the software update happened to be standing next to my service advisor. He introduced himself and said he really liked my vehicle. I asked him if he had any trouble with the update and he said no not now. I asked what did he mean. He said the first 2 or 3 they did kept failing on them and had them really scratching their heads. He said it wasn’t until engineering advised them to check the battery level before starting and put a battery charger on the vehicle if the charge level was below 90%. He said they just started hooking up their charger to everyone they did and haven’t had an issue since. He said he didn’t really understand why that worked but it sure seemed too. He said they have done about 10 or 12 now with no issue including mine. I wonder if any other dealers have had a similar experience??

The battery level is emphasized in the TSB instructions I posted in many ways. This may have an effect on the USB voltage so low voltage may affect USB drive performance or flash performance when transferring code in non volative memory where code is stored. Need constant voltage and current.

Mine failed at USB recognition. People complain about various issues and battery level has more than once been an issue that seemed to address various subsystem not working.

I am more for stability - fewer intermittent issues that require reboot such as a robust flash process. Strict voltage range means OTA may not work if similar issues

Cynical remark - color changes priority over other issues

I really don't care if this update has a single new "feature". I just want it to provide more stability to my car's electronics. I've been dealing with the car rebooting itself a lot. It used to be every 5-7 days. But in recent months, it has been better so that it only happens every 2-3 weeks or so. But still annoying. If that is fixed (and I can get them to fix the front brake noise), I'll be very happy with the car. I don't really feel the need for new features in the software above what was supposed to be there and working when I bought it. If they add some, that's fine. But I don't need them for purchase satisfaction. I have the update scheduled for later this month.

This morning, I tried BC for the first time since the software update and I agree that it seems to have been tweaked.
The Keep Your Eyes On The Road nanny seems to be less sensitive. BC still hugs the right-side of the lane too much for my comfort though.

I wish they would make BC have some fine adjustments so each driver could tune it to taste. I guess the lawyers would prevent that.

EDIT Sat Oct 12, 2024: see the bottom of this post for the update.

Yesterday (Fri Oct 11, 2024) I got my 2024 Nautilus Black Label back from my Lincoln Service. They updated the Infotainment system (APIM) with the big update, and they also reprogrammed the left and right side light modules for that problem about the front "welcome/hello lighting" coming on spontaneously after 30 to 60 minutes of the car being shut off and locked (see separate posting on that).

I know others have put a summary of what was done online, and mine is another....albeit with screen caps to illustrate most of the changes.

One thing I found out that should be done after you take the car back from the dealer after the update has been applied, is to do a system reboot (press and hold center volume knob for 10 seconds or a little longer). Once the reboot is done, then the update "settles in nicely". Before I did the reboot I had "weird glitches" happening: CarPlay voice prompts (reading texts, asking questions, etc) were all choppy/garbled and could not be understood; Auto Start/Stop button would not Illuminate when Auto Start/Stop was deactivated (I *HATE* that function... just a personal note); maps would not display correctly, etc. Once Rebooted ALL those problems I mentioned went away and my system responded to inputs MUCH faster, including activating functions such as Blue Cruise.

OK.. before I get into the changes, please Note that the Update done at the dealer can take up to 3.3 HOURS to complete! Yes, you read that correctly, HOURS. This is because of the complexity of this major update, and that their systems apply it SLOWLY to try and prevent failed installs (scroll up to see peoples stories about that). This update CANNOT be applied by the Mobile Service Van Team because of its complexity and must be installed at the dealer's service department.

CHANGES:
1. Reboot--- When rebooting the system (holding down center volume knob for 10 seconds or longer now does *NOT* have that annoying speaker POP. Instead, it's a silent reboot... just like it always should have been.

2. Blinker sound--- when activating your directional (blinker) the sound is different. Not so much louder as it is a change in pitch to allow you to hear it more clearly.

3. Drive Mode---- when selecting Drive Mode, the on screen buttons and fonts are much bigger and the globe graphic has changed to what I would call a more "aggressive" look:
Drive mode larger buttons and font and changed graphic.webp

---------------------------------------
4. Outside Temperature Widget--- the font has been changed on the outside Temperature, but the same for the temps for upcoming hours of the day. Font is thinner (old one was bold):
Outside Temp Font Change.webp

---------------------
5. Tachometer in "Excite" Mode AND Speed Limit sign change---- Tachometer is more "aggressive" and has a tail on it. Old one was more static looking. Picture below does not capture the full animation of the "tail" because it's a static picture instead of a video.. Speed limit sign has different font for easier reading:
Tach new look and speed limit sign.webp

--------------------------------------------------------
6. Left Steering wheel button icons---- the iconography of the left buttons has changed to be clearer for the primary functions (Set and Resume/Cancel), and the icons for turning ON/OFF cruise control (top right) and for activating lane change/BC (lower right) have slightly changed in appearance BUT noticeably have different colors to stand out:
Left Steering wheel buttons cruise control changed icons.webp

-------------------------------------------
7. Right steering wheel button icons and new background colors of messages that appear---- The right side buttons on the steering wheel also have different iconography on them, as well as colors, to highlight key functions AND the background color of messages has changed significantly to stand out. The more important the messgage the more intense the color (burnt orange for info/gentle warning messages; intense RED for Important Warnings). (also the "place hands on wheel" graphic changed, but I don't have a pic of that. Here are the right side changes:
Right steering wheel button icon and background colors of messages changed.webp

-------------------------------------------
8. Display Coolant Temperature selection--- Most perplexing to me personally, is the addition of allowing you through Settings to toggle on or off the Coolant Display icon at the top of the screen that is horizontal. I guess some people don't want to see it:
Display Coolant Temperature new choice.webp

[In case any were wondering, my Oil Life is at 100% because while my 24 Nautilus Black Label was in for the Infotainment update, it was also there for its 10,000 mile service (I ordered it in late Dec 2023; delivered and took possession on April 30, 2024).]

The rest of the changes to the system are "behind the scenes". Mostly increased response to inputs. Other graphic changes, like the Radio antenna looking icon (AM/FM) has color. Different displays for SiriusXM, etc. Another change is that when you are driving and turn up the volume for map prompts, etc., the new setting will "stick" and not revert back to the default.

If I notice any more changes worth noting, I will UPDATE/EDIT this posting.

UPDATE/EDIT- Sat Oct 12, 2024–. Tonight, Sat Oct 12, the audio from Messaging in CarPlay started getting garbled again , and the Auto Start/Stop LED started acting up. I had to do a reboot. I hope this does not become a recurring event!

Thanks.

Russ.

Great job communicating the update. I appreciate this very much. FYI I am bringing my Reserve II Hybrid in Tuesday for new brake rotors and the 24B54 SW update. Stay tuned

Absolutely love the POP FREE reboots! Maybe it is just me, but the reboot seems so much faster than before the update.

Anyone else notice the reboot speed?

Yes, I noticed that too! No loud pop and a lot faster! Overall the system seems much snappier after the update.

Yay, it is not just me again....:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

I like the new fonts on the popups, quicker and easier to read. I have not had much time yet behind the wheel, will be taking a 200 mile trip tomorrow, but the brake coach message (one of my fav video game sims) has not gotten stuck up on the big screen yet 🤞

I had my 24 Nautilus in for the window bounce back recall (recall 24C24), and to resolve an issue with the keyless unlock not working when I approach my locked vehicle with key fob (or PAAK phone) in hand.

When I arrived at the dealership yesterday, the told me they needed to apply 3 updates: 24C24 bounce back , the infotainment software update (24B54), and antilock brakes/ABS module refresh to address battery drain (24P22). Regarding the keyless entry lock issue, a Remote Function Actuator (RFA) needed a software update, which they did but it did not fix the problem. Turns out the battery was at only 18% charge, so they installed a new battery. That fixed it. I suspect the ABS drain may have had something to do with the low battery level, so that software update probably helped the fix.
I had this same issue among so many others. We were locked out. I took it in and my battery was at 35%. They were able to get my brand new battery to 74% when they gave it back to me. I have had my fill though and thankfully after spending over 40 days in the shop from combined visits for so many issues, I have been granted a buy back under the lemon law! I have never been so happy to say goodbye to something I thought I wanted so badly! Best of luck to you!

That sounds like a sorry state. It does not take that long to fully charge a battery to not deliver it fully charged. Maybe they did battery first and then after the updates it was down to 74%. But during the updates, the work instructions state it needs to be connected to a charger to keep voltage over 12.7 V,

In the Canadian notice, I like the words "Surprise and Delight".
