Corsair lead time

Hi JLB. Just a repeat of a previous FYI, in order to avoid slight confusion later: Take another look at that notification you received. Does it state production date of 5/9/22 or production week of 5/9/22?

At a month and a half before production, it would be unusual to receive an actual production date (the day it will be produced) so far ahead of production time. The usual procedure at this point would be to get a production week (the week it will be produced), and that date will be a Monday (which 5/9/22 is). That means you vehicle is currently scheduled to be built sometime during that week or 5/9/22-5/14/22
Then you will receive a notification of an actual production date closer to actual production.

That is why it is likely the notification states something similar to "Your vehicle will be built the week of 5/9/22", and 5/9/22 is a Monday.

Double check that notification and good luck.
Yes, production WEEK. I knew that. Just lazily didn't type all that out.

Man, ordered 11/22/21 and haven’t heard anything from Lincoln. Contacted Lincoln Concierge 2 weeks ago to investigate the order and they drew a blank. Dealership contacted Ford rep who ‘inquired’ but has no information on why my GT is not in production. I was told my Priority was 2. Too vested in the wait time to cancel now but Lincoln is not something I will recommend to others. The pandemic is no excuse for others ordering after I did but receiving a production date. My GT is not ‘fully loaded’ so that ‘tired’ excuse doesn’t hold either.
Shame on Lincoln (Ford).

Hi tcsdoc. Not that it makes the wait any easier to take, but just to explain a reality or two: It is not as though "fully loaded" orders are the only ones being held up. Your vehicle could have only one single feature/option/commodity that is in short or no supply and it will hold up the order. And in fact, that will be exactly why your vehicle is being held up, especially with a Priority Code of "2" (if that is really what it is)..

And all automakers are in the same boat. The buyers of Cadillacs, Buicks, Audis, BMW's, Mercedes, Toyotas, Hondas, Hyundais, Kias etc. etc. etc are all on other forums complaining about their waits and telling everyone they will not recommend them to others, just like you. So yours is not some unique/special situation.

I am not condoning or excusing the lack of information, but that is your Dealer who is dropping the ball there. They can find out any information they need to, if they put in the effort.

Also, you should have a VOC (Vehicle Order Confirmation) which lists your actual Priority Code. What does your VOC state? If you did not get one, you should have and should ask for one now to at least confirm your Priority Code.

Hope you get your vehicle soon and good luck.

Brand new here and I thought I'd add my numbers to the mix if anyone likes to follow this:
I ordered a fully optioned GT Corsair on 3/8/22.
I received the production week notification email this morning of 5/9/22.
Hoping things are starting to speed along now and I won't get the dreaded 'extended' email. :)

I ordered my Corsair GT and received my confirmation email on 10/20/21. It seems that I made the mistake of thinking I should support my local dealer in Provo, UT rather than the largest local dealer. I guess too late now. I also received the curious email on 3/18/22 that my vehicle production had been extended. Curious, because to the best of my knowledge I still do not have a production date. However, it did get me thinking of whether I should consider removing an option from my order. All I really need is the tow package. The option is the Co-Pilot 360 1.5 Plus Package. Would such a change in my order that still seems to be in limbo land affect anything negatively at this juncture? Help or hurt? Thoughts on anything I could do to try to help things along?

FWIW, tow package is the one thing I did NOT order.

My order has the Co-Pilot 360 1.5 Plus and the tow package also. I attached my order sheet if you'd like to compare. (Sorry it's a crappy copy. Looks like the printer was messed up.) But I guess the biggest difference is mine is a Reserve instead of a GT. I would keep pestering the dealership for info. Lincoln Concierge actually told me my dealership would know more about my order than they would.

I ordered my GT, with all option packages except 20" wheels, on Jan 25, confirmed (with no priority #) Jan 27. March 25 I received the notification of its production week of May 16. I can't track it until I can get the dealer to give me an order #.

I don't know if this is the same across the board, but my order number is the last four digits of my phone number.

My order number is on a document prepared by the dealer that provides a description of the vehicle with options and pricing.

The only communication I've had with the dealer since I submitted the order, was salesmen trying to sell me what's on the lot, with obscene ADMs. I'm apprehensive about the coming $ talk, when I mention X-plan... I know that I can't use a different dealer for this transaction. If it goes south, I'll try to find a better dealer further away, and go for a 2023, and the current dealer will wind up with a car he can get his ADM with.

What do you mean “coming dollar talk”? You guys didn’t settle on a price and sales terms before the order was submitted? Why didn’t you tell him about X Plan when you placed the order?

Can someone explain the x plan to me? If I joined now, how would that benefit me when I purchase my vehicle in a couple of months?

The X plan is discounts on Ford (also some Lincoln) vehicles for friends/family of Ford employees or retirees (there are other plans too). I was told by one dealer in January they weren't taking the x plan for the Corsair and the next dealer told me it had just been approved. I ordered through the dealer that I can get the discount with.

Thanks for the info! Do you have to be a member for a certain amount of time before you can get a discount?

No, you just need a friend to give you an X-Plan number and PIN. Ask around here or on the Blue Oval site. Someone will give you one.

X-Plan give you a good price without any haggling or hassle by the dealer. Maybe not the best if you took the time to negotiate and shop around, but in today's car-buying environment with few discounts, X-Plan is a good way to go to save a few dollars. I was going to use it when I got my 2021 Nautilus, but the dealer gave me a discount that beat it. That wouldn't happen today I don't believe.

It is not a membership. You need to know someone that works or worked for Ford that can contact their people to give you a discount code.

Nope. I simply checked the "order" block on Lincoln's build site. They referred it to a local dealer, who only called me to try to sell me something immediately. Never discussed the order or pricing, and didn't even ask for a deposit.. I just let things flow until I got Lincoln's "build week" message with a VIN.
I still suspect the dealer will balk and insist on ADM, at which point I will walk away, let them sell the car for whatever, and find a more reasonable dealer who will take an order for a 2023 at X Pricing.

Incidentally, anyone can join Mustang Club of America, and after 90 days, be eligible to get a PIN for X Pricing.

Ah, so it's simple to get the X-Plan pricing since it's literally just a number and PIN. Well that's good to know. Anyone reading this thread have one they could DM me? I'll check the Blue Oval site as you mention here too, thanks. This forum has been so great for the inside scoops.

Hi JLB. X-Plan is a discount purchase plan offered by Ford for all Ford/Lincoln vehicles (except a few limited edition or sometimes new introduction vehicles).

There are several types of X-Plan PIN programs...here are three:

- Ford Employee "Friends and Neighbors" X-Plan PINS. Your can obtain one from a Ford employee or retiree. If you know one.
Ford has tightened rules for Friends and Neighbors X-Plan PINS in the last few years to try and ensure that Ford Employees are not giving them out to near strangers on websites such a Blue Oval Forums etc. It is still possible to get one, but more difficult.

- Ford Partner Company X-Plan PINS. You can obtain an X-Plan PIN (2 per year) if you work for a Ford Partner Company. Here is one list of Ford Partner Companies
The list is ever changing, with new companies added all the time. You would need to check with your company HR department to get your Ford Partner Company X-Plan company code, then go to this site to enter and register. Then generate an X-Plan PIN.

- Certain Clubs, such as the Mustang Club of America etc. Members can obtain a PIN in a similar manner as described above. However most of these clubs require a minimum time of membership, such as 30 day/90 days etc.

He is another good web page, which explains the AZXD Plans, along with the rules and regulations which both Dealers and buyers are required to follow:

Keep in mind that Ford can not and does not audit every sale, so it is up to the buyer (us) to acquaint ourselves with the rules and regulations, and ensure the Dealer follows the rules.

Hope this information helps and good luck.

:-( I have the lowest priority number too at 19!
Your dealer can override that and get you a 10. Only folks in corporate can go below 10. Press your dealer as my dealer told me that 10 was the lowest number they could give me. I got mine in less than 2 months.
