Corsair lead time

Looks like I went in to Production today, Ordered FEB 19. In Issaquah, WA.
Reserve 1 360 1.5Plus Elements, Monochrome package Spare tire, Asher Grey.

My original production week was 3/28 and then got bumped 2 times to 4/11. But today I can not access anything about it on the Lincoln site. It is not taking my VIN and order number. Is this a good sign?

Today is the 5 month anniversary of my order for a GT. Last email from Lincoln was March 9th giving a build week of April 4th. No window sticker available but tracker works and shows the correct vehicle.

Already planning a trip to the dealer next Tuesday whether I receive any more information or not.

Order Reserve w monochromatic package 1/19/22 from Columbus, Ohio. Status as of 3/29/22, production.
Similar timing for me. Ordered 1/31/22 from Bob Boyd in Columbus. Reserve w/Sport package. Priority code 19. Original production week was 3/28. Bumped to 4/4. Window sticker became available today, so (fingers crossed) seems likely it will not slip from next week.

Does anyone know how long a Vehicle stays "In Production" before it ships?

Hi Spear. Pre-pandemic, a vehicle was "produced" in one day. Perhaps two if it began production at the end of the first day. Now, with commodity shortages/production delays etc., there is no single/clear answer that fits every situation. Yes, frustrating.

Good luck.

bf2530, thank you for your response, I know that there is no way to know for sure, Like "What MPG are you getting" questions, but a general "we have seen X, but take X with a grain of salt." kind of answer.

The only thing that is concrete in this environment, is uncertainty, that I am certain of. ;)

Dont stress. I had that happen often. It was often a status change or update.

Yes. It takes TWO shifts to complete a vehicle. however, the challenge is the final inspection. That can take longer, due to staffing issues. Also, if parts are delayed, then that's another delay, but you cant count it. Then, once its 'ready', its still loaded before it actually ships. The whole process seems remarkably efficient and automated.

tcsdoc, it sure sounds like your dealer is messed up as they have a couple of internal systems to track vehicles. My Lincoln rep was pretty young and fairly new. I asked him. couple of questions and he said he had no way to check things. I called my Ford sales rep who I've bought from for 20+ years and he said the Lincoln rep is inexperienced and not trained properly. He (Ford sales rep) called me back next day with very interesting details on my Lincoln and said I should have it the next day. Sure enough the Lincoln rep called and said he was amazed to hear that my car would be there today and for me to come pick it up at 3pm. The Ford rep called the Lincoln rep to teach him what systems were there to track things.

I would challenge the rep and ask him to talk to the sales manager or higher to get an accurate story. Just remember that Lincoln has a complex formula on what cars go to which dealer and it's based partially on volume and partner investment in their dealership. The higher volume gets high priority with orders. I do think that a GT order with all the bells may get a higher priority than a lower level model just because of profit from the more expensive orders.

My dealer is seeing 3-4 month delivery cycles as typical but mine got here early (less than 2 months) because there were three other top of the line GT models shipped with mine and Lincoln grouped them together. They do that too. When mine arrived the dealer had 5 different customers wanting to pay over MSRP to grab mine but they had just put it on display waiting for me to arrive. Thank goodness I got there because had I waited I'm not sure if they would have help it more than a few days. I would take delivery as soon as that thing arrives so there is little chance a dealer would sell you out.

My Reserve (ordered Feb. 7) was due to begin production March 21. On March 25 I was notified that it was built, and that after final inspection it would ship and should arrive at my California dealer April 19-25. Ironically, I was hoping not to get it till end of May or June, which is what my dealer estimated.

Brand new here and I thought I'd add my numbers to the mix if anyone likes to follow this:
I ordered a fully optioned GT Corsair on 3/8/22.
I received the production week notification email this morning of 5/9/22.
Hoping things are starting to speed along now and I won't get the dreaded 'extended' email. :)
My corsair Reserve1was ordered 01/15/22. Received email Stating week of 5/9/22 also, ordered every option.

Order Reserve w monochromatic package 1/19/22 from Columbus, Ohio. Status as of 3/29/22, production.
Once your vehicle is built you will receive it quickly. Mind showed built and was at Bob-Boyd Lincoln the next day. Good luck!

On the flip side, mine sat on a broken down train in Buffalo NY for over a week, and shipping in total took about 18-20 days.

After 5 months my GT is now in production and I have a window sticker. When I ordered I signed a sales contract for MSRP of $58845 including delivery. The window sticker now states the bottom line is $60210. $1265 increase in base price and a hundred on the delivery charge. Prices of options did not change.

Also, during the past past months I learned of the X plan through this forum (many thanks) and now have a PIN number. Have an appointment with the dealer next Tuesday.

Does X-plan honor the ordered price or do you pay the delivered price?

I do not know. I was unaware of the X plan 5 months ago or would have negotiated that. I would like to know if the dealer invoice on my vehicle will also increase or will Lincoln charge the dealer based on the invoice at time of order. If the dealer's profit margin has been cut he won't be in a good mood. When I ordered I was told that in-stock vehicles were being marked up above MSRP.

Hi nmb. The question is too vague, considering all the variables being mentioned above.

To find out how pricing works, it is best to read the Plan rules here: https://www.myplan.ford.com/myplanweb/jsp/howitworks/myplan_az_rules.htm

Also, a Lincoln/Ford the Dealer does not have to accept X-Plan sales in the first place, let alone having it sprung on them at delivery time. So anyone who has already ordered a vehicle and is now contemplating getting an X-Plan PIN better check with their Dealerships Sales Manager first, in order to to see if they will accept it.

Good luck.

It's true that a dealer doesn't have to accept X-Plan, at all. In my case my dealer wouldn't accept X-Plan pricing on an in-stock Corsair GT (he only had one and added a lot of unneccesary add-ons, like paint protector etc.). This dealer normally doesn't do add-ons and not sure why they did it to this one, other than feeling a totally loaded GT could command extra add-on profit(s), aka dealer greed??? He did say that he'd accept X-Plan on a dealer ordered GT, but only because I've bought my last Lincoln there. He insinuated that if I wasn't a repeat customer he wouldn't have done it. Not sure if times were "normal" if that would still be their stance. Mine was ordered in January and other than a Lincoln email that the order is in I haven't heard a word. The dealer thought maybe June??? If it goes too long I may just cancel and order a 2023 except I'm guessing the cost may increase for a '23. 🤬
