Corsair lead time

It's true that a dealer doesn't have to accept X-Plan, at all. In my case my dealer wouldn't accept X-Plan pricing on an in-stock Corsair GT (he only had one and added a lot of unneccesary add-ons, like paint protector etc.). This dealer normally doesn't do add-ons and not sure why they did it to this one, other than feeling a totally loaded GT could command extra add-on profit(s), aka dealer greed??? He did say that he'd accept X-Plan on a dealer ordered GT, but only because I've bought my last Lincoln there. He insinuated that if I wasn't a repeat customer he wouldn't have done it. Not sure if times were "normal" if that would still be their stance. Mine was ordered in January and other than a Lincoln email that the order is in I haven't heard a word. The dealer thought maybe June??? If it goes too long I may just cancel and order a 2023 except I'm guessing the cost may increase for a '23. 🤬
The 2023 model Corsair will be a freshened design. It is rumored to have a new front fascia and a larger touchscreen along with a few other changes.

I had read that, so if Lincoln doesn't have a decent enough delivery date I may have to go with a '23 and that may be worth the wait. I'll have to decide when I know more on delivery timeing as well as what the '23 will look like and include.....and of course how much they potentially will increase the pricing.

Also, you should be asking the dealer if they will honor the X-Plan before you order generally. I've been using the X-Plan for 20 years now and saved a ton. I'm a former IBM employee and get X-Plan through my former employer website for retirees. You can also go the Costco route and save $$$. It's about a $500 difference between X-Plan and Costco with X-Plan being better deal. My dealer told me they only honor Costco and X/y/z/A plan discounts. They are not offering any other discount. I also got a $1000 Lincoln/Ford Customer Loyalty discount too. That surprised me when the dealer told me they were authorized to offer it to me. Not sure if they do that for every customer but worth asking. If you are in the military (ACTIVE), they offer a $500 discount. Of course your zip code affects discounts as well.

If you have already ordered but did not tell the sales person you wanted X-Plan, then I would send an email telling them to give you the current X-Plan pricing. Send them the email you get when you register to get a X-Plan pin. Once Lincoln send you an email with your VIN and order number, you can use that to look up the window sticker. The window sticker shows the Priority code. If you are not a code 10, then ask the dealer to change that. They can do that. That is the highest priority they can offer. Corporate can change that to rush an order and lower the priority to speed up the order.

I have saved a ton of money on my Ford and Lincoln purchases using the X-Plan since 2001 when I bought my first Ford Explorer Sport Trac. One of the reasons I stay with Ford/Lincoln. I can also get a similar employee discount with Honda. I've looked at Honda but the cars did not compare to the Lincoln Corsair in my opinion. It's all about the art and how the vehicle fits your needs and wants. For me, buying a car is a very thought out emotional experience as I keep these cars a good 8-10 years and I treat these like they are gold. Now that I have retired, I'm even more attached to my Corsair and always waxing it or cleaning it up when it really does not need it! Ha!

Good luck.

Hi gang. Just to add a bit more information and suggestions to heywardjr's reply: If you already ordered a vehicle without the X-Plan, and then manage to obtain an X-Plan PIN later, skip the emails and texts etc.
To best protect yourself, go to the Dealership and speak to the Sales Manager about changing the purchase contract over from a "retail" sale to an X-Plan sale. And get a new purchase order contract right then.

Assuming you were not silly enough to not get a purchase order contract with all pricing laid out in black and white the first time, you most assuredly want to get a purchase order contract for the X-Plan sale, so that there are no unpleasant surprises when your vehicle finally does arrive. So skip the emails, texts etc., because you want to get a new, corrected purchase, with the correct X-Plan pricing.

Again, the fact that we as a buyer have PIN and want to purchase via X-Plan is supposed to be disclosed upfront, so accepting any X-Plan sales is entirely up to Dealer discretion. And they have little reason to accept an X-Plan PIN later, after purchase order contracts are already signed for a higher price.

So do the belated X-Plan negotiating in person, so a new contract can be written right then. Emails and texts are too easy to ignore. Especially in these pandemic induced times of vehicle shortages.

Just some advice learned though years of experience.

Good luck.

Ordered my Corsair Reserve on 1/28/22. Original production date was 3/28 it got bumped to 4/4 and bumped again to 4/11. Got notified today that it is in production. Hopefully I will have it before the end of the month. From my understanding they will send it by semi as I live in Northwest Indiana.

Went to the dealer yesterday to touch base since my GT is in production. Sales rep said that this dealer does not do X plan sales but photocopied my paperwork anyway. Does not expect a quick delivery and predicts beginning of May.

Sales rep also said that they have been told not to order any more Corsair GT's for the rest of the year.

Finally!! Just got email saying Corsair was built. Hope to have it soon.
Similar to you - Reserve ordered 1/31/22 in Columbus, has been “in production” status since 4/3, then got email overnight last night that it is built and should arrive Bob Boyd next week. Maybe some similar builds from Bob Boyd were grouped through production given yours and ours are so close in production. Ours was a Priority 19. Regardless, happy that we’ll have soon!!

What! On March 24 I got an email from LIncoln saying my Corsair was built and being prepared for shipment, due to arrive at my dealers late April. The timeline showed the built circle colored in. Today I got the same type of email saying that my production schedule has been extended indefinitely, and only the order confirmed circle is colored in. Maybe they are building me two.
Update: I called Concierge. She is showing my vehicle as awaiting shipment, and will send me another update later. She had no idea why I got a second, inaccurate notification.

A friend who just got his '22 Corsair a couple of weeks ago, said something similar happened to him. The car arrived as originally indicated. But I think the time between the first and the second emails was shorter. He is now a member here. :)

With all of the confusion, it's making me have second thought about my Corsair.

And yet, I saw a '22 Reserve 1 inbound to a dealer about 100 miles from me, so I called them. They said MSRP, and no requirement for any added on items. It arrived within 2 weeks. Equipped like I would have ordered, and color combo that was my first choice. AND I had $1,000 in Lincoln pts/loyalty money. Additionally, I got 0% for 36 months, and just $1,000 less on trade-in than we paid for our 2020 CR-V Touring 2 years ago.

I have to order to use my a/z discount. If not, I would've just picked a car off lot.

CONGRATS. That is the smart way to do it. Glad you are on board with the GT. I'm loving mine every day. Was worth the wait completely. It's well built, well designed, really super quiet, looks great, lots of power and lots of savings on gas. I've only filled up the 11 gallon gas tank once in 2 months. I'm loving that side of this too. I'm sold on PHEVs and EVs as well now. It's the future and will get even better with newer batteries coming soon.

Sorry, I think you mis-read my post. I bought a Reserve, not a GT. I seriously considered the GT, but it just wasn't in the cards this time.

Ah. Yeah, I see that. I like all Corsair's. No discrimination here. It's a great car no matter which iteration. They did a great job in my book.

Received an email this morning that my GT is built and delivery is expected April 24 to 30. If I take delivery on the 30th it will be 6 months from date of order.

That ‘22 GT that I ordered first week of September last year is on it’s way!
Too bad I already bought a ‘21.
