ACTIVE GLIDE NOT WORKING

short version: AG now works! I took the car back to dealer, tech test drove it, and reported he got hands free to work. I drove it home and also got hands free to work. so, don't know what happened between map update, I could not get AG hands-free to work and now it DOES... but it does.

Very nice feature. I love it.

Just got the dealer to apply 22-2494!

Super happy to hear the GWM update took! AG is great, hopefully they push out AG 1.2 ASAP!! Noticed they did not perform the APIM update, hopefully you get that via OTA soon. That enables full screen Apple CarPlay and some other behind the scenes things you don't notice.

One thought, I still have my FDRS license active for another 21 days. If you want I can run your VIN and screen shot any updates that may or may not be there. Will give you an idea of exactly what the dealer will see when the plug into your OBDII port. Just let me know if you want me to do that. Just want to help get the AG back for you.
Can anyone subscribe to FDRS and perform updates or do you have to have some association with a dealer or repair shop to qualify?

I was super happy just go get AG and - like you said - assumed the rest would follow OTA.

Yes sir. You can get a 2 day license for $50. The expensive part is getting the Mongoose OBD Cable for a Lincoln/Ford, it's about $500. If you want to do this let me know and I will send you the instructions and P/N's to order off of Amazon. Personally it was money well spent as I find the OTA's push at random times and I typically want it now :)

So when do you think 1.2 will get pushed for the 2022’s. AG has lot of swerve with sometimes unbearable.
That is a great question that only Ford knows. The MME has it and all other AG and BC units should get it eventually (fingers crossed)

Looking forward to 1.2 as the current version works great for me already. The new features and enhancements sound really good.

I took my wife for an AG test drive recently. First time for her. She turned on AG and i said “you can go hands free.” She looked at me like i was from a foreign country and told me clearly that wasn’t happening. She is fine to use hands free with hands on. Not me, I like the hands free.

Lol, my wife still rarely uses the backup camera. She barely uses cruise control, anyway. I am all in on that stuff.

We have an older expedition that wife won’t drive. She says no backup camera no drivey. She says she is fine with being a full time passenger and has son drive her around😀

She's a keeper. Lol

Hi mafzai. Lincoln ActiveGlide will work semi hands-free on certain highways. It is not an autonomous/fully hands free driving feature. If you take your hands off the wheel for too long, the system will alert you to put them back on and will turn off if you don't.

As far as what your Dealership told you (who did you speak with?)...There is no lost license or recall for Lincoln ActiveGlide. So you will need to ask them more questions. Preferably your Service Advisor or the Service Manager.

There is no fully autonomous, fully hands free driving aid in the US. Not even Tesla, despite what some Tesla owners believe.

If your system is not working correctly, then you need to address it again with the Service Department at your Dealership, and/or Lincoln Concierge.

Keep us updated and good luck.

My 2021 Ford F150 Limited has Blue Cruise which is 100% handsfree when engaged.

I suspect this is the same technology as Active Glide.

Hi Lones. You quoted a post from ~7 1/2 months ago about an ever evolving/improving technology.

However, you are correct and I will adjust what I was stating to make it clearer. I should have more accurately stated it is not *attention-free*, as opposed to "hands-free".
This technology is only Level 2 Automation. This means: "The vehicle has combined automated functions like acceleration and steering, but the driver must remain engaged with the driving task and monitor the environment at all times".

Far too many owners are confusing this technology as meaning they can drive along with their hands off the wheel, reading the paper, doing crossword puzzles in their lap, taking a quick nap etc. And that is wrong and extremely dangerous...as the one brief article I linked to about Blue Cruise in particular explains. Along with the major errors of many Tesla owners in the news.

Thanks for pointing out my error in semantics, and hopefully this makes what I was attempting to say clearer.

Also, my previous advice stands, which is if anyone thinks their ActiveGlide/BlueCruise system is not operating correctly, their first step should be to schedule a service appointment.

Good luck. 🍻
