I use a great independent (Indy) father & son body shop. I see a lot of Tesla's, Audi's and BMW's scattered across the lot, as well as the economical brands as well.
They are the owner/managers, they do not do any repairs themselves. They employ a highly skilled and motivated workforce. They are the only two that will check in a vehicle with the owner (or representative) present. Same at pickup, inspection first before release!
They do a total walk around in your presence upon dropping off the vehicle. They have a crayon stick and clearly mark off the areas of repair on the vehicle. During the walkaround, they note all other defects, glass, trim, paint, dents, scratches etc. They discuss with you options of what they can do for you concerning other defects found on the walkaround.
Point is, from the get go, you can see the care they take in the walk around to be sure the scope of work is covered & understood by all parties involved. They mark the areas for repair right on the vehicle itself, using the yellow crayon-like marker forementioned. All other defects are noted, so no surprises afterwards!
I have used them on several occasions for my wife's BMW repairs over the course of the last few years. She loves these guys, they treat her right, they respect women customers. In fact, on the occasions I have been at the shop, I have spoke to a few women customers doing business with them, they have said the same. I travel from the Bronx to Westchester to do business with them. I would travel over 100 miles if needed!
My Lincoln dealer in NJ has a Lincoln certified body shop. It was one of the plusses they mentioned when looking to purchase from them. They may be great, I cannot say, but will not entertain them at all when my Nautilus needs repair.
