I just ordered this jump box. This is the exact one our friend showed up with. Sad we need to have to keep this in a brand new Lincoln, but I’d rather be practical until something is done about it….which I doubt. Lincoln is just expecting us to just suck it…or at least that’s how I feel.
if anyone has a dolphin you can check your fob transmitter timeout. Ford started adding accelerometers to some key fobs to put the keys to sleep when they are stationary. If you need to move the keys around in the house frequently you will wake the car. If they just sit, even in close proximity they will no longer trigger a system wake. I have noticed my car does things even when the key is totally absent. Clicks, pops and whurrs for up to an hour after the car is shut down. Usually vehicles take 30-45 mins to go to sleep but the nautilus takes quite some time. I’m betting the software fix is because something is keeping it awake indefinitely. The hybrids also have a battery fan that will run for hours after shutdown but I suspect it may be using the high voltage system.

Good jump box, but that one is designed to last the day, with the tech having to jump car after car. It's overkill, particularly if you have the hybrid which has a smallish battery.
When my Viking lithium jump battery is due for replacement (had it multiple years, still working fine), I'll probably go for a Cen-Tech from Harbor Freight. I've had good experience with the couple of Cen-Tech items I've bought previously. Under $70 normal price, and periodically HF has coupons.
If I had a truck with a large engine (a big V8 or diesel), that would be an interesting jump pack. Right now a 3.5l v6 ICE is the largest engine we have, so lower capacity jumpers make sense.

Yeah probably overkill, but I wanted a lead acid jump battery instead of the more compact lithium units if they are going to sit in a hot car. It can also double as a great emergency power supply. We don’t have the hybrid. Anyway, I’d rather have too much than too little at this point. I saw the jump battery in person today and it wasn’t too big.
We have had 4 trouble free months apart from the infotainment system that needed rebooting several times, but that seemed to settle down. But now you all can add me to the list of people disgusted at the short sightedness of Lincoln. My wife is completely disgusted and upset, since she got rid of a car she loved because of electrical gremlins…for this.
LOL…I was surprised today to find out traditional jumper cables are not recommended for modern cars. Oh well, at least with a jump pack, you don’t need a 2nd car to be nearby. Pretty handy if you are in the middle of nowhere, etc.
I did find this notice from Blue Oval Forums of a 3rd quarter of 2024 fix for battery drain issues. I can’t remember if this was posted here at any point, I’m sure it probably was, but if that’s the case, here it is again anyway. I see markfm posted it originally, so I’m sure he posted it here somewhere. I wonder if Lincoln is still on schedule with the OTA update?
The letter claims the update can be performed at a dealer now but an OTA is available in this Fall? Sorry if this question is redundant.
For the event posted earlier, there has to have been some major event to deplete the battery so quickly that the trickle charger could not prevent given most put out at least an amp so the drain would have to be more than that. The voltage reading when the charger was hooked up initially would be useful information.
I do not have the approach welcome enabled nor do I let the Lincoln Way app have bluetooth near by devices enabled (stays active on phone) which are one key trigger to remote vehicle response. With the above, I do not see the fob or phone as a major factor for me. Fob or no fob the vehicle is monitoring several frequencies (fob freq or Bluetooth for approach, fob command to unlock (another frequency). and 5G) in anticipation.
Any event (opening a door, rear hatch, or even opening or closing the hood) triggers noises from the vehicle and then later more noises at various times. It does not take many 0.1 V drops to get the vehicle in a low state. I have never heard a fan running on my hybrid after I turned off the vehicle even after a 600 mile trip with temps in the 90s,
My concern is all these deep discharges can damage the battery so over time capacity is reduced and premature failure. I see AGMs usually come with 3 year warranties so that could be a short life.
My last test with the noco attached the battery voltage had dropped to 12.5x V while solid green. The good news is I disconnected the charger and let it sit and after 3 days the voltage is 12.44 v this morning. This is less than I have seen in a while. I have left the hood up the entire time since even closing the hood triggers a noise. One goal was to see if I needed to get the battery to learn what 100% capacity was.
I asked noco what the voltage is to triggle a maintenance cycle after I reported a 12.5v reading solid green and they asked me to test another battery (that is in process). My 09 MKZ has also stabilized above 12.5v while solid green and hope to catch a maintainance cycle. It was around 13.7V when in the maintenance mode initially.
When I initially opened the car door to pop the hood to put on the battery tender last Friday, the car made unusual noises, and the headlights came on for 3 seconds. I think that’s when it went into deep sleep mode. I don’t know if it’s been established exactly what voltage triggers sleep mode? I am also assuming this deep sleep mode prevents a deep discharge, and it couldn’t be too low, as the jump back brought it to starting ability in under 2 minutes.
I also have no idea how much drain 5G and bluetooth does on a sitting car. I’m sure it’s something. I now wonder if disabling 5G and Bluetooth when parked does anything.
At this point I’ll do what I can until this software revision is applied, assuming it hasn’t been done already before purchase. These bulletins are not very specific about when this software update was available at the dealer to directly apply, and if that even is the fix we need.
My friend who jumped our car told us about how he bought a brand new Nissan Kicks and it does the same thing. Dead battery from all the electronics draining it while parked.

I'm one of those "4 trouble free months apart from the infotainment system" guys as well. There are so many issues being discussed (mostly with Hybrids, I believe) that I've thought about starting a threat looking for other owners without any mechanical issues. But I didn't want to jinx myself!
btw, I have been using a Faraday box almost from the beginning. It's hard for me to believe that it's made a significant difference, but it's an easy and inexpensive insurance policy.
These issues seem to be completely random. Last week wasn’t my wife’s first (relatively) long trip in this car. But it was the first time the car had issues after.
I put the car back on the battery tender yesterday afternoon after being jumped, and as of this afternoon, it is just about to hit final trickle mode. So the battery couldn’t have drained too far to hit deep sleep mode. Heat must have been a factor for sure.
Tomorrow I’m calling the service manager to see if the car has all the updates it can get. If not, I’d rather have it get a 15 minute update at the dealer rather than wait another 3 months for the OTA, assuming I understand the TSB bulletin correctly.

Fingers crossed. I am right there with you, over 5,000 miles now. My keys are stored inside my house but just a few feet away from car, which is in the garage. No Faraday box. My car does get driven most days though. Mine is a hybrid.
I can now confirm that a M6-1.00 nut works to piggyback the eyelets on the threads at the red arrow (-) and a similar one on the buss on the other (+) side of the Battery.

I'll probably toss it on the CR-V for now, but skip the sticky tape since the Honda will be what is traded for a Nautilus (then DW gets the 2017 RX - drives great, maintained well [local Lexus service staff have been consistently good over the years]).
Now, after a full week sitting with zero activity, the Nauti battery voltage is 12.44v. Judging by recent reports of cannot starts, it seems these follow a period of activity NOT inactivity. The Lincoln Way app shows last update a week ago so does not seem to be phoning home. I will be driving her later today. The only other event is my Blue Cruise subscription expired so that is not active.
I have my noco 5 still on my 09 MKZ and battery reports 12,47v and still solid green. I wonder when maintenance cycle will kick in.
