24 Nautilus Reserve II
We took delivery of our Reserve II gas on Monday the 26th. Already have an appointment at the dealer to look at bugs we are seeing with the screens/driver profiles/software.

Wife and I each created driver profiles with the fobs and our phones (Samsung, not iPhone). Everything seemed fine for a few days, the car would recognize who was driving and change seat positions, screen layouts, setting choices as appropriate when only 1 of us was in the car.

Friday we both get in. She is profile 1, fob 1. I am 2. She was driving, we both had our phones but only she had a fob (#1). Upon start up, seat position moves to profile 1. The screens were a mix of our settings for 1 and 2. Manually pressing the profile 1 button on the door, cleared things up. However, while listening to SiriusXM, we noticed the media screen (shows what song/artist is playing) was frozen on a previous song. The broadcast was playing correctly but the 'current song' would never change. Switched to FM and the media screen updated to reflect the right image on FM. Switched back to XM and the screen reverted to the "stuck" image while the live broadcast was playing.

Turning the car off and on did not clear it up. In fact after a re-start if we switched to another media source, we couldn't get Sirius to work at all. Blank screen that would time out and go back to the home screen. Select FM or phone media and it would work, select XM and nothing.

The next day, the 'settings' button no longer works. Pressing it either has no effect or it will change to a blank screen that times out and returns to the home screen. Dropping it off tomorrow and getting a loaner while they look at it. I suspect they will do a factory reset and tell us to "see if it does it again".

I think there are some definite infotainment software issues to be worked out. Hopefully FMC issues over the air updates soon.

Otherwise, things are great. Comfortable, quiet, blue-cruise takes some getting used to but is pretty cool.

Did you try holding down the volume button for 10 seconds to reboot the infotainment system? That might save you a trip to the dealership.

First I've heard of that 'function'. At this point I'll let them deal with it so FMC at least gets a data point that there are stability issues.

The profiles are full of bugs imo. My phone on my profile my wife's on her profile. Always defaults to mine. Also no sound from radio now and then after sitting and restart sound comes back. Just waiting for updates.

I'm discouraged by your observations, especially since ours is waiting to be picked up by us and my wife will not be patient. Anytime who works in software will tell you that a tech-heavy release like this was bound to have early issues.

Unfortunately, I doubt the dealer can do anything. In some cases maybe reset system to factory. If it's a bug, they won't bet able to fix it, except maybe when technical bulletins have been issued. (Does anyone in this forum have access to TSBs?)

But the silver lining is that the vast majority of software bugs can be addressed OTA. If possible, be sure to connect to your Wi-Fi when at home. Your problems will hopefully go away one morning.

Yep, I fully expect the dealer to do little to actually fix the issue. We're doing our part to make sure Ford KNOWS there are bugs and the software needs stability updates. And you never know... lemons happen and need recurring repair attempts.

Some of the little issues I have experienced I can now say are related to apple car play and my iPhone. I occasionally have to open my phone to get carplay to connect or manually start music playback. I have had the same issue since carplay became available in Sync3. I have run unreleased versions, modded versions, also in sync 4 and its acted up occasionally. There are alot of different software trying to play nice together and all it takes is 1 weak link to bring the whole thing down.

I only have 1 profile so I will not see any of the profile recall issues you guys are dealing with. I have had one system restart caused by amazon prime video. Watching a movie in a low signal area. I attempted to exit to adjust the massage seats and it crashed/rebooted. Came back quickly and without problem though.

Dropped it off today. Of course it worked fine with the service advisor sitting in it. He did watch the videos we had and noticed that when the "settings" button wasn't working, it was displayed in a different location on the screen than when it is working. Also, that the traction control button disappeared at that time.

He acknowledged something isn't right and they are evaluating.

Wife got a Corsair loaner. As of now, says she made the right choice with the Nautilus.

While going through all the features on the 2024 Nautilus the screens went black. We turned the car off and back on, they would start to boot up then go black again. I haven't signed any paperwork for it, I just don't know if I should take that one that is already having problems. They took it to service to have them work on it.

It’s a little late now, but you can reset the display and related settings by holding the power button for like 10 seconds. When released there is a POP, sounds like a big rock hitting the windshield. My display froze when I put it in drive while a movie was playing, this fixed it.

I got to hear that pop yesterday. It's the speakers thumping. I was told by the dealers it doesn't hurt the speakers, but what causes that pop is the cone excursion exceeding it's limit and the coil impacting the magnet. It's not great for the speaker.

Service advisor acknowledged something wasn't right based on the videos. But as expected, the tech "couldn't reproduce condition" and they said to let them know if it acted up again. Which is a fair response.

I will try the reboot procedure next time. Thanks for pointing that out...

@swindler,

So you're saying that you picked up your Nautilus? Please let us know. Are their photos involved? Are congratulations in order?

I suppose yes. We picked it up last night. I was going to take some photos then, but they had the vehicle inside a little cubicle. You had just enough room to walk round it. Then it was dark when we got it home. And it's been raining like the great flood here all day today. But you already know what they look like. :giggle:

Obviously very nice. We haven't really driven it much, or even set up the features, but it road nice, quiet, and everything worked - so far. One thing I'll note is that we were expecting Goodyear Eagle Touring tires, but they had MIchelin Primacy tires. The dealer said the Goodyears are on the 22s. We have a Reserve 2 and no Jet, with 21s.

I'll give more impressions with more drive time, but fair warning - I hardly ever leave the house. I'm immune compromised and have had three hospital stays just this winter. I don.t need any more.

Swindler,

I'm almost in your shoes with COPD and other health issues. Spent most of this past November & December in 2 local hospitals but I can and do drive. This purchase was for my wife but she says she needs more time to adjust to this new car, so I've been driving it. My wife plays with the gadgets while I drive.

Whatever your abilities and time will allow, I'd enjoy hearing your take, short term and long, and some photos as well, if at all possible. And most importantly, Congratulations!

John

That worked for me! Thanks!

Am I the only one that is skeptical (paranoid) of the Active Noise Cancelation? When I first got my car it seemed super quiet but now I'm noticing more wind, outside car, and road noise. Is there any easy way to check or troubleshoot ANC?

I've also had an annoying issue about of whenever someone else drives my car the google privacy kicks in and turns off GPS location for my car setting off multiple alerts via email and app.

And same OP, I have been having screen glitch issues. On one occasion my map side went black. Changing themes fixed it. On another occasion as mentioned before, the infotainment screen was split between two profiles show inspire theme on one side and and engage on the other.

Hope we get some kind of update SOON!

The infotainment is definitely unstable. Yesterday I tried playing with the Valet option. Got the attached error. A reboot fixed the issue. The wide range of unstable behaviors feels like there are some memory corruption issues in the software.

ANC is one of those things we don't really know anything about. Like so many other things, it's not even mentioned in the owner's manual.

I reported this to Lincoln support along with a few other issues I encountered. The most annoying is the easy exit and entry restoring the seat position on unlock and not when the start button is pressed, and not saving the climate settings on engine off. I like the motion setting for air circulation and my wife likes it off. I have to set that every time I get into the car.
