2024 Nautilus - Infotainment/Screen/SW issues

Android is glitchy by default. It can be ironed out but usually takes quite a few updates to get there. It can work seamlessly for some while run like someone's first coding project for someone else with identical hardware.
I appreciate this comment and it explains a lot as I'm not an Android guy.. But the explanation is not an excuse.

Definitely not an excuse. The problem is money and everyone trying to do their best to maximize profits while advertising cost cutting as a benefit to consumers. Ford decided to use Android with google services, this is likely the cause for alot of the issues since it requires specific standardized hardware and does not allow much deviation from the standard API. Any existing bugs cant be fixed by Ford even if they were to detect them in testing. Unless the bug is due to a preinstalled Lincoln app or UI element its a google issue. Ill bet its why rejuvenate was dropped last minute and also why there is no hybrid power flow app.

I performed this action this morning and it worked as expected. I didn't use the key to open the car. Instead just kept the key fob in my pocket and opened the door with the handle. When I started the car the seat and steering wheel then returned to the memory set position. I can live with that for now. Q3?!?!?!

This was also mentioned as an issue: Watching an Amazon Prime video while parked caused the touchscreen to go black and the right-side dashboard screens to go black as well. Lincoln support informed me off the volume button reset and that got me going again. Having done Android development in the past a poorly written Android app can make the overall OS unstable. I had downloaded the Solitaire FRVR game and after playing once, and losing, when I hit restart to start a new game I got the BSOD for about a minute on the touchscreen and then it came back on its own.
What is the volume trick please?

Hold down the crystal volume button for at least 10 seconds until you hear a loud pop from your audio system, then release it. This will reboot the system. It may take a few minutes.

I received my 2024 Nautilus in late March. All screens went black and none of the resets worked. Dealership has had the car for two weeks. I was told on Monday that even with a Lincoln service engineer working on it they can not fix the issue. They said Lincoln’s module programming department is backed up 30 days.

I was offered a full refund and can buy another or take my money and buy something else.

Does this Nautilus seem to be stable?

I really liked it for the 331 miles I had it.

A fair number of people have been saying positive things about sw improvement after receiving the new major update (installed by the dealer instead of OTA). It is nowhere near perfect, but apparently they're making good progress.

If you have a hybrid, they should be getting close on the injector problem fix, but I'd wait until it's actually been done on some of the hybrids, then a '24 hybrid should be safe to buy.

Alternately, you could order a '25, though unlikely to actually get it until late this year or early next year. '25 order books are open now, with dealer builds (ones that go to their showrooms) supposed to start in July, and custom buyer orders start build in August. After build there's the logistics/transport handful of months until something coming off the line actually gets delivered to a US dealer (it sounds like that may be only 3 - 4 months now, though I would budget 5 months in case there's any slip, plus orders already placed by others will likely get built before yours).

I'm personally expecting to go with a '25. I want the hybrid, would just as soon get one where the engine is properly built right from the start. There's a bit of a price increase in '25 (about 4% for the configuration I'm interested in), I'll lose front seats being ventilated in the Premiere 1 version that really interests me, but overall it simply is looking cleaner to go with the new model year.

(That said I could still see going with an injector-fixed '24 if I run across any nice incentives on it 😀)

That’s encouraging but I can’t go without a vehicle for that long. I need to decide in the next few days whether to get a new Nautilus or get something else. I have a new Aviator loaner and like it but really liked the electronics on the Nautilus.

I may go to my second choice of a BMW X5.

With the majority of the frustrating issues being software related, I'm not sure that I understand the logic behind waiting until the 2025 model year. I think it's highly unlikely that the 2025 will have different software than the 2024.

@Higley, did you have a Hybrid or Non-Hybrid? I think it makes a difference.

I have a Non-Hybrid. With the most recent software patch, my OS is stable, but still full of bugs. Mechanically, the car is flawless and overall, I absolutely love it.

The Hybrids have some very scary and catastrophic mechanical issues. Until they're resolved, I think it's very difficult to purchase/repurchase one of those.

I've owned BMWs for 40 years. My Nautilus replaced an X4 M40i. I bought the (Non-Hybrid) Nautilus after considering the X3, X4 and X5 and I'd make the same decision all over again, bugs and all.

I had the hybrid. There is a shortage of choices for Nautilus models available in my area. I am also considering a 2024 Aviator.

Good luck to you.

As a huge BMW fan, you'll never go wrong with the X5. But it's a not as luxurious, quiet or smooth. Also, it's a bit dated now, imo. All depends on what you're looking for.

We took delivery of our Reserve II gas on Monday the 26th. Already have an appointment at the dealer to look at bugs we are seeing with the screens/driver profiles/software.

Wife and I each created driver profiles with the fobs and our phones (Samsung, not iPhone). Everything seemed fine for a few days, the car would recognize who was driving and change seat positions, screen layouts, setting choices as appropriate when only 1 of us was in the car.

Friday we both get in. She is profile 1, fob 1. I am 2. She was driving, we both had our phones but only she had a fob (#1). Upon start up, seat position moves to profile 1. The screens were a mix of our settings for 1 and 2. Manually pressing the profile 1 button on the door, cleared things up. However, while listening to SiriusXM, we noticed the media screen (shows what song/artist is playing) was frozen on a previous song. The broadcast was playing correctly but the 'current song' would never change. Switched to FM and the media screen updated to reflect the right image on FM. Switched back to XM and the screen reverted to the "stuck" image while the live broadcast was playing.

Turning the car off and on did not clear it up. In fact after a re-start if we switched to another media source, we couldn't get Sirius to work at all. Blank screen that would time out and go back to the home screen. Select FM or phone media and it would work, select XM and nothing.

The next day, the 'settings' button no longer works. Pressing it either has no effect or it will change to a blank screen that times out and returns to the home screen. Dropping it off tomorrow and getting a loaner while they look at it. I suspect they will do a factory reset and tell us to "see if it does it again".

I think there are some definite infotainment software issues to be worked out. Hopefully FMC issues over the air updates soon.

Otherwise, things are great. Comfortable, quiet, blue-cruise takes some getting used to but is pretty cool.
I'm having the same issues. I took delivery on January 13. Car was fine until the beginning of April and its been nothing but issues since.

I think it was mentioned in a prior post that the profiles capability definitely has issues. Because I like using all the technology at my disposal I setup both fobs for my wife and me, though I'm the primary driver. That functionality has a lot of issues so I subsequently deleted her profile and unlinked my fob so easy entry/exit works and settings all function properly. I still have PAAS and that works as expected to open the door when I approach.

You would need to expound on your issues since we have no details of your experiences, but it is a known issue that profiles do not work well and it is advised to avoid using them for now.

I've listed my issues in other posts so I didn't want to repeat unnecessarily.

Did you try holding down the volume button for 10 seconds to reboot the infotainment system? That might save you a trip to the dealership.
I've done this and the loud POP I heard was so bad it scared the crap out of me. I won't do that again. Is that normal,?

Pro tip - try turning the knob counter-clockwise (decreasing the main volume) prior to the restart 10-second-push. That should decrease the reboot pop volume.

Yes, it's normal, and sorry about that. You've now been fully initiated into the Nautilus Club.
Well today both of my screens started to glitch at the same time, my car scents haven't worked in weeks, and now when I get in driver side which I am usually the driver, the profile connected is my husband's phone however, I am the main account. I am so over this and must say I am glad I have a lease. I am seriously considering returning this. And, I had it in to service for some other software issues and after a week of them communicating with the engineers which room 24 hours each email, they told me to come get it they wouldn't "recreate" what it was doing for me, so therefore they couldn't help me. Seriously! So what I say is happening is just in my head. Nope. I now have videos and will be meeting with the manager this week. I put down a wad of cash and didn't expect this many issues.
