2024 Hybrid Nautilus (Engine Problems)

How does this even happen? I assume these parts are made in China since the vehicle is as well. We are in a new world as I have owned Benz, BMW, Audi from AMG's to M's in BMW to S's in Audi as well as non sport versions over a 30 year period and never had this many issues with any of the cars I had. My first year with my 2020 Aviator Black Label GT was a shi$ show of numerous trips to dealer for all kinds of things. Today the quality control is garbage. My last Audi was an SQ5 in 2019 and was flawless so I'm curious if the German cars are having quality issues as well now. I was very impressed with the Nautilus aesthetics and was considering it as my next vehicle even after swearing off another American car and reading these issues just makes be revert to that position.

I just scheduled a service appointment in three weeks (our best window). Hopefully, they'll have parts and loaners available.

The good news is that it’s been a while since someone reports an injector failure on this site 🙏❤️🥂
I saw one on facebook reported this week. I called my dealer and service was closed so will call again tomorrow

Considering my partner and I test drove a GLE 450 this weekend and the check engine light came on as we were driving it, I think it's a universal issue.

Sad considering how much these cars cost now. Like where is the quality control. Warranty or not nobody wants to spend multiple trips to the dealer and/or have their car down for days or weeks.

I bet if you got the dealer to replace the injectors they would charge more hours than Lincoln allows.

I’m wondering if they will proactively change them at this point or are they just dealing with the ones that failed.

I’m also wondering (as I’m sure are many others) if a failure is inevitable in all of the impacted batch, or not.

I just scheduled an appointment to get mine replaced.

First off per the original bulletin from Ford on April 29 2024 re the Nautilus Hybrids the instruction for the Dealer to Delivery Hold do not demo untill repair process released and corrected. Why did your Dealer not follow those instructions and send you home with the vehicle now. Rather wait for the repair and save your piece of mind. Bad on them.

I even showed them the bulletin, and they said it didn’t apply to my vehicle. That being said, I have created a very extensive paper trail to the sales manager and the service manager, reiterating everything they have told me and all of my concerns and their reassurances.

I believe that that bulletin said "Recommended" rather than "Do Not" demo or deliver.

It was easy to see your vehicle was within the build paramateres. They just tried to cover up the facts so they can show a sale on their books. They are not concered re your paper trail . I would rather send your communiction to the Dealer principal and negative feedback to follow Ford Customer Viewpoint.

So is this a full stop-sale for all FHEV Nautiluses or only for certain identified VINs?
It was only specific build dates but mine wasn't part of that original build date block yet I bought it Friday and this happened Saturday!

The injectors are sourced from all over. They likely have the same source as north American built cars since none of the injectors are made in north America. I still think it was contamination at storage or assembly process. They would have been installed at an engine plant (unknown location). Ford may have issued the new P/N to verify post bulletin vehicles, there might be no actual change to the injectors at all.

What does "seed stock" mean? Trying to guess if this means there will be parts stock to fix my car at the dealership (waiting to be delivered to me) or if I will have to wait for them to "open order parts" starting June 3rd.. and who knows how long that will take.

Seed stock is to make sure all the dealers who sold hybrids have access to parts early on, so there isn't an artificial problem generated by "hogging" the parts (someone placing a large order, beyond immediate needs), until increased parts availability occurs a bit later.
