2024 delivery schedule

As I watch Helios Ray pull into berth 601 right now, I check back and simultaneously see Glovis Chorus pull to a stop, drift off to the side, and anchor — still about 22 NM short of the terminal. I'm guessing it will have to wait for HR to unload first. I don't have a good ETA for GC at the moment, but figure on late Wednesday.

Btw, I discovered my salesman sent me a VINView page showing GC completing it's track from Shanghai to Tacoma. It was so zoomed out, I'm not sure he realized that it had not gone to Portland. But I thanked him for his email and asked for him to let me know when it's on a railcar and starts moving.

I can't read the dates on the photos from @TimCooper. Just too fuzzy when I zoom in.

Based on what I'm reading in the thread and looking at the Silver Sky, I concur that it best matches the timeframe. Obviously it's due on 1/23 at 20:00 which matches the target dates I see discussed as 1/24 (easily that ETA can shift around a few hours). The track also matches but I will say that every ship bound to NWE from Korea has an identical track.

Tim could subscribe to the satellite plans and look in more detail...One site has a professional plan free 7 day trial...that includes 30 day playback.

This would be easier if we didn't see the Grand Vision which is coming directly from Shanghai. That being said...it is possible that the first shipment to Canada was smaller just like it was to the U.S. (Platinum Ray had only 1000 cars) and therefore, Hyundai Glovis transferred it to another ship (or for the reason speculated by Swindler). Then the Grand Vision which is about 2 weeks later... carries a larger load of vehicles and will ultimately beat the first shipment.

Thanks @agogley. Just a couple of clarifications. The tracks not only align, but they terminate at the same point in the ocean. The site shipinfo.net provides free AIS satellite tracking for the last 14 days, which is how I made that overlay in the second post. And I didn't overlay the track. I overlayed the land features. The track just happened to match. There were no other RoRo ships at that location. It has to be the Silver Sky — at least for @TimCooper.

A far as the size of the ship, consider that there's 546 Lincoln dealers in the U.S., and 91 in Canada. There's going to be less going to Canada.

I read Canada sold less than 10,000 Lincolns in total last year. That's the same as some of the largest months in the U.S.

In regards to rail tracking...there is absolutely a way to do that. You can actually track vehicles on trucks too. There are various forums for other manufacturers that give detailed instruction on how do to this, But we really need a railcar number to do it. Which, theoretically we could get from the dealer assuming the dealer knew where to look and was willing. But vinview gives you the same info and I think most of us would be satisfied if we got regular vinview updates.

We do, btw, know roughly how the cars are transported by rail and which cities they generally go through.

Agreed. I asked my dealer to provide me a rail departure from Portland and a rail approach to DFW. That's all I need for planning purposes.

I took your photo of the VINview track, straightened it up, and overlayed an image of the Silver Sky track, and while I don't have a history of it coming from LA, the track around Korea, through Japan, and out to the northern Pacific track very well. I'm not sure I can explain exactly how it got on that ship, but I think I can go as high as $5 USD.

Not the prettiest work I've done, but I was trying to get the two tracks to be distinct. Here's the overlay. Blue is VINView, Purple is from shipinfo.net.

@TimCooper, I have my last exhibit for the court. I was able to get a tracking history of Silver Sky going back to 12/27, when your ship supposedly departed. Note that this particular tracking history stops near Japan when it leaves terrestrial waters. It'll 'catch-up' when it gets back near land.

But importantly, the track history prior to Korea appears the same as your VINView image captured yesterday. I think the Lincoln app is just showing us the AIS tracking of the Silver Sky back to the time of your departure. It has nothing to do with whether it was on that ship at that time.

I don’t see the Glovis Chorus pulling in until sometime tomorrow at this juncture. Probably not till afternoon.

Very frustrating

Importinfo shows the Helios Ray unloaded about 1500 Hyundai. So I'm guessing it will be shoving off sometime later today, probably late this afternoon eastern time (Since Portland is 3 hours behind). It's really interesting how much slower Portland seems compared to Tacoma which had the Chorus in and out in very short time frame.

Thanks for the info! Hopefully we pull in next without any craziness.

looks like the Randy S is positioning to move the Helios Ray out of the berth.

Triumph IV might also have moved in position to pull the bow outward.. Maybe not. It returned to it's dock.

Two tugs at that Hellion Ray ship now. Maybe this time they'll tug it outta there?

EDIT: @Khak4, you beat me by seconds!

Also, Hellion Ray just changed destination to Chevron (San Francisco) so it's definitely heading out.

Looks like two tug boats hovering around the Helios Ray. Might finally have some movement shortly for the Glovis chorus.
