The outside electrically operated mirror can have multiple functions depending on options.

Adjustment
Heated glass
Dimming
Then the mirror head may have other things like a compass or lighting.

This is the reasoning for other wires.

There isn't an adapter that I am aware of.

However one might be able to remove wires from the connector and use the relevant wires from the donor mirror in the connector from the old or existing mirror.

This would mean carefully removing the wires from the connector. NOT cutting and crimping. Cutting and crimping generally means an electrical problem in the future.

Action

The passenger mirror would not have dimming function.

Connector 608 (6 pins) handles the motors and heat. Connector 615 (4 pins) is for position sensing related to the memory mirror function.

Note that memory mirrors are not directly controlled by the mirror switch but through the Driver Seat Module (DSM). I don't know if a mirror without the position feedback will work as a non-memory mirror or if the DSM would fault.

The attached wiring diagrams show the wire colors.

On ebay did you include your specific model year in the search?

Yes, I verified on the seller's page that the mirror selected would be a fit for my 1997 Town Car. Every mirror I have seen listed as a fit from any online provider (Amazon, Ebay, Parts Geek and others) have shown only a 5 pin terminal connecter on the replacement mirror.
@etinpa is correct in his post... on the original mirror, the 6 pin terminal contains the wires that control the directional and the heat functions.
I actually ended up taking apart the 6 pin terminal on the oringal mirror and the 5 pin terminal on the replacement mirror to get to the individual wires and through trial and error, was able to determine the correct wire pairings to make each function (up, down, right, left) work. The wire colors don't match up at all. I'm not sure the heat works on the mirror but I don't need that so no worries.
So, another task scratched off the list!

I got digital speedometer to work. However, it is tiny. Is there a way to get large numbers. I am new to owning 2010 Town car. I love the car and want to learn everything about the car. It only has 67,000 miles.

I have a hard time understanding why at this point Ford is still dealing with this parts shortage. Are they using a chip/camera/part no other manufacturer uses and it is an obsolete design?

Hi icemantx. All auto manufacturers are having the same/similar issues with various parts/commodities. However, most of us do not hear about the problems of other manufacturers because we own or are looking to purchase a Lincoln, and are therefore on a Lincoln Owners website.

Try to factory order a vehicle from another manufacturer, and spend time on their enthusiast websites, and you will find the same parts/commodity shortage issues.

I tried just replacing the dummy module behind the rear bumper and configuring it. That didn’t work by itself. I finally had time to follow the Explorer ST forum forscan instructions and now my hands free lift works on my 2023 Aviator. A replacement Aviator module and Explorer ST forum forscan instructions should get this deleted feature back.

Hello. I just got my 2023 Black Label Grand Touring hands-free liftgate to work. I bought a used Ford module, but it didn't work. I then ordered a 2023 Aviator module from Levittown Ford and it works very well. Of course, you need forscan to finish the job.

I ordered the control module from Levittown today for my 2023 Aviator and will install it when it arrives in early May.

I followed the same instructions on the Explorer ST forum and still can't get the hands free lift to work. Do you happen to know what you changed in Forscan for your Aviator?

How about an after-delivery option take back/credit issue?
My favorite is the Cadillac (CT-6 I believe) heated windshield washer fluid feature. It was prone to failure, (electrical shorting issues). It was subject to a safety recall, and GM issued a TSB on removing the heater function. Customers were given a $100 credit, and the feature was disabled as customers came in for the campaign & malfunction issues.
More than a few manufactures of luxury vehicles offer this option, with no issues. Cadillac chose to disable rather than fix the issue. It was cheaper for them in the long run no doubt!

Thanks for posting the Forscan notes.
Just installed a new module and applied the new values on my 2023.
The one additional step I had to take was to run the "BdyCM Local Interconnect Network New Module Calibration"
Now I can’t wait for the next service appointment since I was told at my last visit “there is absolutely NO way to activate the hands free liftgate option!

Also, besides the ass & bambi, the few others you have mentioned...what are they? Have you programmed any of them?

First due the climate controls on screen, then we will go from there. Report back when you due,it if works or not. '23's didn't have hybrids,meaning yours correct? That would would be a different hex number. I forgot to ask. I wouldn't give out codes unless I'm using them or at least tried them out.

I did my neighbors BIL '21 last week , and was thinking about you. On that one I had to enter the two values mentioned above. Just wondering.

I totally missed your May posting inquiring how I made out.
I just now saw your above posting, and I feel terrible about leaving you hanging. My bad.....!
As a supporting member of the forum, I recognize its importance to all Lincoln owners that use it.
Members like yourself that have much to contribute, and share their knowledge are why this forum is meaningful & important.
I agree, acknowledgement is a courtesy that should be given when a fellow member helps you out!
Again, please accept my apologies for not responding. No excuse, I should have responded even before your May inquiry.

That being said, I have not tried to perform the mod yet. I need to update my ForScan version for starters.
Since you originally posted the details, the other vehicles I tend to have needed ongoing attention to get them up to snuff to pass NYS emissions.
Other than an OFC change, a few washes and a wax job, I have not paid any mind to the Nautilus.
I hope I can count on you to "guide me through" should I need advice when ready to try one of the mods!

In closing, I hope you can forgive my oversight. If ever you are in the NYC/Metro area in your travels, let me know, beer on me! I sincerely mean that!

I have a 22. Been great for 65,000 miles save a few recalls that were handled during a normal maintenance visit. Only warranty claim was a leaky pinion gear seal that was replaced at 50 some thousand miles. AI can get you some quick feedback on a 24. Here is one example.

I appreciate the reply. I've googled this model year and didn't find much aside from recalls. I just wanted to hear some real world experiences with the vehicle. I'm picking it up Monday. The dealership finally caved & is giving me the extra $1k for my trade that I asked for the day I test drove it. I wish they would've caved that day, but I wasn't sticking around. Now, I have to ride back down to Oregon to get it. My poor back is barely recovered from this last weekend.

Well, on the flip side, the ride back should be a lot better for your back in the Aviator. We got a 2022 Black Label Aviator specifically because of my bad back and spinal condition. It has helped so much compared to my previous two vehicles. Hopefully it will be helpful for you as well.

Indeed it was! I decided to ride down the night before I was supposed to pick up the Aviator. I didn’t want to spend $160 on a room for barely 12hrs but I figured it was the best idea. The weather ended up having rain in the early morning so I avoided all that as well as Seattle traffic etc. I don’t trust most people in cars when the weather is nice and clear let alone when it’s raining. This whole decision was last minute. I was at work Sunday night and it poppped into my head and I pulled the trigger and bought the hotel room for the night. Got off work, drove home, grabbed my work clothes for Monday and my toiletries and threw them in a trash bag and loaded up the bike and made my journey. The ride back was probably the most comfortable I’ve ever had in a vehicle. With my back issues that lower back massage and butt massage the whole way was amazing! My 18 F-150 had massaging seats but they automatically shut off after 15 or 20 mins. Full 3.5 hr drive they were on. I was still learning about all the buttons and screens etc. I think I’ve found everything but supposedly there’s a HUD on this vehicle but I swear I didn’t see anything about it in the center screen settings. I’ll have to look again. So far I LOVE the Aviator. This thing is plush and rides smooth and has power when you need it. Might get rid of my other car. Not sure yet.

I thought things were looking really good for hybrids until we stopped pursuing them. The midsize MKZ was up to almost 50 miles per gallon - wasn't it? That was a pretty comfortable and luxurious car. If we didn't stop, where might we be now? I bet it wouldn't have been all that long before we saw full-size luxury cars getting 100mph with hybrid setups... That would have been fascinating - and the automotive industry wouldn't have had to be turned upside-down.

Follow the money -

Hybrids and electric cars slowed because the US Government incentives ended.
This type of powertrain is more expensive than a gasoline powered car.
For the more wealthy buyer this is not much of a consideration. For others or buyers seeking a lower cost of mode of transportation, they are buying based on price not power train choices.

Remove the Government assistance and many buyers buy something else.
And the Government assistance is NOT sustainable.

Thanks to the Banking Industry handing out subprime loans that eventually failed AND then the government over reach with their Climate agenda. The Automotive Industry and Housing Markets have been turned upside down for a long time now leaving us all on the hook for more bailouts

Since we are going off topic and I am employed in the mortgage banking world ..............

The current housing situation is the way it is because of multiple factors.
1) The Dodd- Frank law that was passed after the financial crisis of 2008 greatly restricted home buyers that are buying a primary residence.
Current home ownership is 65% versus 70% back then. Know that each 1% = 1.3 million homes. Meaning there are more than 6.5 million less home owners now. Because of this there are a lot of renters. And the landlords seeing opportunity and have less restriction on buying/financing, buy more homes to rent. Plus, apartment complexes have been on a 3 to 6 year building spree as of late. Again to meet the renter demand.
2) Supply and demand. The supply was significantly reduced in the housing downturn. Millions of homes nationwide were leveled during and after the Real Estate downturn occurred. Demand came back especially with the great money dump from the Biden admin. However that created higher costs because there was so much more money chasing fewer goods. ((Production/supply had stopped during COVID) That money is nearly gone and we have the inflation hang over of wanting goods without that COVID money. The price of goods has not and likely will not come down to pre-COVID levels. (Inflation)
3) The home affordability is easing just a touch in 2026. However it isn't a thing that resolves itself swiftly. Income is creeping higher and the overall price of housing has been stagnant this year.
4) Because of limits in the Dodd-Frank laws, Real Estate lenders will have a difficult time defaulting or needing a bail out. That could happen but lenders are severely restricted from taking risks. Banks of all types have to have a far greater liquid asset reserve. This has downsides that the consumer pays.

As far as the Automotive industry, there are some limits to automobile financing as well because of Dodd-Frank. This industry moves a lot faster than Real Estate. In addition, auto makers have to invest billions to generate a product before a sale is made. Real Estate Developers/Home builders only have to buy land. Usually with cash. The material can be purchased later when a home sale is made. Making the return on money different in the two industries.
This is why Ford is sitting on $23 Billion dollars in cash and cash equivalents! And it is invested on a strategy of building vehicles that the market clearly wants. (a lot less riskier) GM has $27 Billion nest egg of cash and cash assets as a comparison.

Auto bail outs are not something that is going to happen any time soon, unless the marketplace changes faster than normal. Change always happens in the marketplace. But change in a compressed amount of time in the marketplace is the pit fall that can bring down any company. Government can have a big (unfair) hand at making change occur in a short period of time. Which costs a lot of money.

So, we get back to Lucid. A very small company building a limited product that was propped up by the US Federal Government. The prop was kicked away and the company is sliding. NO matter how great their product may be, Lucid needs the Government to throw money at the industry niche.
But the Federal Government has an unfair marketplace presence. They can wield both the carrot and the stick.
Pass laws that restrict
Throw money at the situation
Both interfere with the marketplace, such that the marketplace behaves differently.

In my opinion, because there is that kind of interference, Ford is and has not taken very many market risks since 2010.

5W-30 for normal use, the owners manual also says 0W-30 for extreme cold climates. Personally, I would not use a 0 weight unless absolutely necessary as you read about many oil burners across every brand of car after use of 0 weights.

I don’t have a ‘26 Corsair ( mine’s a ‘20), so I can’t answer directly, but I have 2 questions:
1 Didn’t you test drive the car before you bought it?
2 Have you read the owner’s manual?

I got the letter about the wiper motor, but no other. The last time I used the wipers they worked OK.

Just pulled that update down to my PC. Will update via USB

Completed the update this afternoon and all went smoothly. Didn’t notice anything different or unusual

No recalls yet, but my wipers seemed to run a self test every morning. When I start the car, put in in reverse to exit the garage, the wipers cycle once every freakin time.

began getting annoyed with it a few months ago, now I just don't use the sensing position at all

Lincoln has instructions on the owner site. Basically I downloaded the new update, saved to a USB stick, put the usb stick in the Corsair….
