First noticed no engine cover, now floppy rear fenders. What’s next?
Did you have these issues? What did you do?From experience, it's the car that keeps surprising you with issues.

First thing Ill say is, people go out of their way to complain, hardly anyone ever makes an effort to praise. Hence why 99% of any forum for any vehicle from all manufacturers youll find more complaints than praise. So take that into consideration. Also, no vehicle is perfect. Well maybe a hand built and rattle tested Rolls before it even leaves the factory....but who wants to pay for that? These just like 99% of all other vehicles on the roads these days are mass produced at a quick pace. Fit and finish will be excellent, but never perfect. Alot of the 20-23 models had COVID related issues with feature deletes, chip shortages, and other measures necessary to get vehicles to dealerships rather than being held in lots at the factory with people waiting on their orders to arrive at dealerships for months on end (and prices skyrocketing even further than they already have due to an even bigger shortage while they were being held). The new vehicle bumper to bumper warranty is there for a reason. Use it. My wifes 24 Corsair wasnt perfect either. Had the subwoofer delete. We fixed that. My 23 Nautilus had feature deletes. We retrofitted parts when they became available. The floppy fenders can be fixed with parts ordered from a 20-22 model (theres some plastic pieces not present on the newer ones that are there on the older ones, they are direct bolt on fits that fix this very issue and there are plenty of posts in this forum about just that).
I feel people have very unrealistic expectations when it comes to vehicles these days (I'm a Service Advisor at a Ford dealership, I deal with people like this every single day.) You can go visit your Toyota/Lexus dealership, and their service departments are filled up with appointments 2 weeks out as well (so much for reliability). Mass produced vehicles with so many electronics, and parts will have some quirks. If you demand perfection, pony up for it and buy a hand built, rattle tested, pre-broken in vehicle from the factory like a Rolls or Bugatti or Bentley.
First off if you read the original post you will see I wasn’t complaining! I will however complain to my dealer and let them handle it. Take off a badge or engine cover that don’t make the quality of the car any less of a quality car that I paid for. I paid for a Lincoln and want Lincoln quality! If I wanted an escape I would have purchased one! I love my Corsair and the extra quality that I paid extra for, don’t try to justify that just because you work at Ford. I DID NOT BUY A FORD! I PAID FOR A LINCOLN! And I want the whole Lincoln not just most of it. The parts that are missing should be missing on a ford. Not the Lincoln. As soon as I put mudflaps on to further protect the money I spent the whole back fender hangs down and wobbles, that isn’t Lincoln quality!
So what you’re saying Toyota Service Departments only change oil? I think you should go see for yourself. Toyota quality isn’t what it used to be. Tundras having catastrophic engine failures, Tacomas having transmission problems, lots of fit/finish issues with their sedans, I’m just pointing out that nothing is perfect. We got just a few businesses down from us. I see their trucks getting towed in on a regular basis. Don’t see F-150s getting dropped off by tow trucks here lol.Thank you for this.
Perhaps the comment was made about my complaint.
This is the problem I see coming from a service advisor at a Ford Dealership, whom I would hope I would never hear say, "The new vehicle bumper to bumper warranty is there for a reason. Use it."
We are talking about a luxury vehicle that costs an average of $60k (before the average price of cars became $50k). For that price, I should be getting my money's worth. As the poster above said, I didn't buy an Escape. I bought a Corsair. That vehicle should be exemplary. If I had bought a Toyota or Lexus, I wouldn't be getting a poorly built vehicle. Their standards are far above American-made vehicles. I'm sorry, but Ford is sloppy. They don't have a good reputation. And, it burns me that these vehicles have so many build and software issues at the price point they are being sold at.
