Open Letter to Lincoln - How I'd Improve the Corsair

I just checked the app and it still shows remedy not available. I will be calling my service rep tomorrow. I am really frustrated by owning a PHEV with the Plug-In part working.
Update. I spoke with my rep on Monday and he assured me that there is no remedy for the recall at this time. @Xarax I would strongly suggest that you check that service report before charging. I might also consider looking for another service writer.

I also called Lincoln today who gave me the same "2nd quarter" speech. I grumbled about the inconvenience and expense. The concierge rep commiserated with me and even shared that her father has a Lincoln PHEV and is equally unhappy. That said, all that she offered was to help me expedite the scheduling of the software update when it becomes available. When Chrysler was having this problem, they were giving their unhappy customers gas cards. You had to complain, but at least they were authorized to offer something.

Open letter to Lincoln, "how about treating us as well as Chrysler treats their minivan customers?"

Thanks for this information. I was skeptical when they told me it was fixed through a software upgrade, and challenged it because it sounded like it was going to be a hardware fix, but the supervisor assured me that his technician said it was fixed and safe to charge. Now, I know this dealership is full of crap.

Hi ljnelson109. Just my advice/experience: Call Lincoln Concierge, politely explain the situation, the inconvenience, disappointment, frustration etc. (lay it on politely thick😉), and see if they offer some sort of compensation. If they don’t, then ask. And ask to have your request escalated if necessary.

They (Lincoln/Lincoln Concierge) are the proper contact for compensation
Yes, a dealership sold you the vehicle and has the ability to offer something (up to a point). However, Lincoln produced the vehicle and is ultimately the responsible party for all problems, issues, warranty work etc.

Call Lincoln Concierge and see how things go. They have a lot of leeway to assist and offer compensation to help a customer, if asked in the right way.

Keep us updated and good luck.

Sorry I wasn't clear. I was talking to Lincoln Concierge. I did not specifically ask for a gift card. But I did explicitly ask what Lincoln is doing for our expense and inconvenience. And as you mention, it was a very cordial conversation, including talk about her father and his only driving his Lincoln in the same town. This was already my 2nd call to concierge on this topic. I may try a 3rd time if this drags on too long.

I do agree with others, I don't expect more than a software update. Sadly, I have dealt with this type of software update with other vehicles and I fear that it could easily reduce the capacity of our batteries to reduce their liability exposure. Time will tell, but their goal is to limit their exposure to risk of burning down a house or causing other personal injury.

Lincoln executives have been watching this community for years. They've also made improvements to their vehicles based upon what they've read here. They are listening to you.

This discussion will serve as a quick and easy way for Lincoln executives to gauge interest and help make decisions moving forward.

As a Corsair driver, you should state exactly what you'd like to see enhanced, added, and/or omitted from your Lincoln Corsair.

Any posts that don't stick to the subject matter will be moved elsewhere.
I suggest more driver control for alerts. I do not need to have recurring alerts to tell me:
-my seat belt is ON. (ridiculous)
-the reverse braking system I turned off, is still off.
-I am close to something when I am negotiating a tight manoeuvre, I know I'm close. There should be an option to turn this OFF.
-if I want to turn on the rear occupant alert, that I turned off.
Once the alerts are disabled, that should be the end of it.
Also suggest the infotainment screen:
-start up with whatever I had it set to when the vehicle was turned off.
-include a setting to disable the GPS map unless wanted or needed.
-have a choice of multiple colour schemes.
Since I'm on a roll, put the seat controls back on the side of the seat base, not on the doors.
Move the heater fan speed control and the air direction control back on the console as buttons. The touch screen takes too long to use if the windshield suddenly fogs over.
Have an On-Off choice for the auto parking brake.
Please provide a comprehensive list of available voice commands. My 2014 Escape had at least 7 pages of these in the owners manual.

I forgot this one: Make the muffler QUIET.
There is far too much muffler noise inside the vehicle, it's not a Mustang. A luxury vehicle should not have muffler noise.
I have a 2023 Hybrid Corsair as a loaner right now. Under full acceleration onto the highway in gasoline power mode there is NO MUFFLER NOISE, just a slight growl from the engine. Please put a quiet muffler on these vehicles!

This is my 3rd Lincoln over the years. And my last car purchase (I am retired now).

My viewpoint is:

1. Even though the Corsair is made in the USA, Lincoln has started manufacturing in China for other models. Please bring manufacturing back to the USA for all cars. The build quality isn't as good in the USA....but it will be better I hope.

2. Do a short field test before sending to dealership. There are too many squeeks and rattles. (Mine is in the shop for this right now)

3. Fix the sensor issues. The cruise stops working on highways that curve or go up and down. Plus parking assistance doesn't work. (In the shop for this too)

4. What is up with the seats and moving side to side? Horrible design.

5. This is the most important thing Lincoln Corp needs to fix: get your dealerships in line!!!!! You are going to lose a ton of customers because of your dealers!!! They are focused on Ford and not on the "luxury buying experience" that Lincoln used to have. The 3 dealers in my area can care less about selling Lincoln's. Their bread and butter is cheap Ford's. And that mentality goes from sales to service. I mean, what happened to the Black Label lounge? The dealers really don't care about Lincoln customers at all. For $100,000 and over for a Lincoln, customers need to be treated differently than Ford customers. And lastly, Lincoln service at the dealers won't honor the parts price on Lincoln's Website nor the labor scheduling. I am having to take my Corsair to uhaul to get extra parts installed. What a bunch of crap!!!

I was told that the dealers had to build dedicated Lincoln sales facilities or they would loose their dealership. My dealer finished his last year. BUT the service are is still shared. The service advisors are dedicated to Lincoln.

In the Phoenix area, the Lincoln dealers are "separate". I put that in quotes because all three dealers have Ford connected buildings, but share personnel. So the people who are selling and servicing cheap Ford's are also working with Lincoln cars and customers. And I can tell you first hand that buying and servicing a Lincoln is not what it used to be. Every single person I came in contact with has a "used car" mentality.

I have had almost every luxury brand over the last 30 years and this is the first time I have been treated like crap. Although, maybe it is just the Phoenix area.....

I am moving back to Texas so maybe things will be different there. That's if I will ever get a chance to drive my car. It will be in the shop for the 4th time next week...

If some of you that don't like your car so much why don't you replace it? If you had the $$$$ to buy a new Lincoln surely you have the money to replace it.

I can't speak for anyone else. But for me, I just got the new one 4 months ago. I am buried into the car and can't trade my way out of it.

It would be a decent car if the dealers weren't so bad.

well go to a different dealer!!
I did say "dealerS". I am taking it to the 3rd one next week.

Not confident that they will fix everything though. Hopefully dealers in Texas are better.

So I have now had my 2021 Corsair for 5 weeks and 1000 miles and here is what I think:
- the transmission in town SUCKS, I wonder how many other Ford vehicles have that transmission
- the auto stop/start should stay off till I turn back on after I turn it off, shouldn't have to do each time
- the mystery dome lights coming on, be real that's just BS
- the NAV sucks compared to Google Maps
- the seats really aren't all that great for a luxury car, do they start from a bank piece of paper each time it comes to building seats
- the cruise control buttons mounted behind the steering wheel is kind of dangerous to use
- who in the hell designed the spare tire and jack storage that has a metal jack pretty much sitting on a metal frame to rattle

2021? Or 2025?

not enough for CR to recommend them anymore

not enough for CR to recommend them anymore
That I agree with.

For me - it was exactly what I was looking for though. However, if the Dealers and Corp does not start treating their customers horrible, then I will wait until my car is worth enough for a trade in and get rid of it.

We've had our '25 Corsair Reserve ll for 2 months with around 1,400 miles on the odometer. It has been perfect so far, not even an annoying rattle to complain about. My single biggest complaint would be having to turn the auto start/stop off every time, but I'm hoping now that the gov't is removing that requirement from the automakers that there with be an option to turn it off for good within a software update. I'm even impressed with mileage we are receiving during the break-in period, being about 2 mpg better than our old tiny Buick Encore this car replaced.
