Open Letter to Lincoln - How I'd Improve the Nautilus

The placement is configurable but cannot add submenu items. I never use any function except setting.. There is plenty of space to add more to make menu system less deep (levels to get where you want).
I completely agree with that.

So, kind of like adding a shortcut in Windows file explorer - allow elevating a lower tier in the menu scheme to a top level shortcut icon.

BMW has had that sort of thing for years in its OIs. Many of the items in its menu tree can be tapped or clicked on to create a shortcut directly to that item.

More engine options. The limited choices now are all anemic compared to the Ecoboost twin turbo from the MKT and even the 305 hp V6 from the old MKX. And who decided it is reasonable to allow owners to program a new fob only if we already have two that are functional ? How absurd ! If I have two working ones, I probably don't need a third one. This is just a ploy to make us shuck out high dollar hourly wages to dealership employees to replace a lost or damaged second one.

Hi G-71. It is standard practice to require two already programmed fobs in order to program a third, fourth etc. And for very good reasons.

It is a security/anti-theft measure. Otherwise, anyone who had possession of our fob, such as a valet parking concession etc., could duplicate it with only the one fob we handed them, without our knowledge.
Then they only need our address (most people keep the registration in the vehicle) to go steal the vehicle later. Open with the fraudulent fob, get in, start the vehicle and drive away. And with no connection to the valet service, since they can steal our vehicle days or weeks later.

Yes there are other ways to program a second fob, such as using FORScan etc., but requiring two already programmed fobs in order to program additional fobs eliminates the bottom feeders.

Whether we agree with the process/procedure or not, that is the reason.

Good luck.

Definitely the 2.7L would be awesome. The 3.7L though would be a downgrade from the hybrid for sure. I owned the 2.7, 3.7 and now the 2.0 eCVT and the 2.0 eCVT is definitely somewhere in between the 2. They should have offered a 2.7L mild hybrid, the 2.0L full hybrid and 2.0L plug in hybrid.

I would like some tie down points near to back of the cargo area (near hatch) to secure some stuff. It could just be a hole.

Really cool that Lincoln's listening to us! For my Nautilus, I’d love to see the infotainment system speeded up—it’s a bit sluggish sometimes. Also, maybe more options for interior materials. Other than that, I’m loving the ride and excited to see what’s next!

Lincoln executives have been watching this community for years. They've also made improvements to their vehicles based upon what they've read here. They are listening to you.

This discussion will serve as a quick and easy way for Lincoln executives to gauge interest and help make decisions moving forward.

As a Nautilus driver, you should state exactly what you'd like to see enhanced, added, and/or omitted from your Lincoln Nautilus.

Any posts that don't stick to the subject matter will be moved elsewhere.
Camera to stay on when parking during both reverse and drive

Better wireless charging pad which had connectivity issues

Hulu and pandora as app options

Ventilated and massaging rear seats as options

More ability to control what information is on big infotainment screen- like Waze maps

More themes for infotainment screen

I'd like a dark mode setting for when you are out in the country roads and want calm mode, ambient lighting on low or off, and perhaps a specific theme. All configurable so I just need to flip a switch/toggle on the home screen.

Additionally, my parents have a new buick and I love the auto detection of front passengers, seat temp, so that it automatically puts seat heaters on high if occupied and then slowly turns them down to setting 2 and then 1 over a reasonable time. Would love that feature improvement in our Lincoln.

Additionally, has anyone else noticed that the calm toggle has been buried an. Extra screen down in the setting. Used to be available to select when click on the widgets menu in 2024. But now in 2025 it is on menu further.

The illuminated molded "waves" on the doors (seen here) are an unforced error and I'd be happy to see them removed. They're functionally unnecessary and not only don't look good, they spoil an otherwise attractive and premium interior. The plasticky appearance and fake sparkles look like they belong on a roller coaster car at Six Flags.

Imagine how much better it would look just being solid black, or carbon fiber weave, or a continuation of the phyllotaxis on the speaker grille, or just a diffuser for the LEDs...

Each to their own. But I like mine. You can always turn them off. Which I sometimes do when travelling in the country where there is no ambient city lights.

-More powerful engine. Have the hybrid, but would love to see the 2.7L V6 or at least the 2.3L I4. Coming fron a 2.7L, the car is reasonably fast, but I feel that I'm revving it too much driving fast on the highway.
-Quieter, less bouncy ride.
-Better quality interior materials. Leather is much lower quality than the Bridge of Weir I've had in previous Lincolns, and only a small part of the seat has it. The wood trim is skiimpy, and the gloss silver trim is tacky. I don't like the hard lower door pockets.
-Software and infotainment system is terrible. Lots of bugs, can't run apps, etc.
-Allow different widgets to be displayed on 48 inch screen.
-Have indicator (besides instant fuel econ widget) of whether car is in electric mode; include tach on hybriid; include trip computers in Vehicle Status page
-BRING BACK rear camera washer and cornering lights! It's ridiculous that these are missing from this car.

It looks like Campaign 23U11 should at least take care of the vent directional settings (no idea if it includes retaining overall climate control settings).

I was looking around today and resurrected this. Has anybody ever seen 23U11 on their list of CSPs? Either fixed or not? It affected only 3,686 '24 Nautili, but mine would have been one of them and I've never seen it anywhere in my history.

This CSP came out while my vehicle was on the water. I asked my dealer about it and he said it was never listed for my VIN so they never did anything. Perhaps it was superceded by another campaign?

I'm just wondering if anyone has any history on this?

I have not seen this before. My vehicle has this issue but was built outside the window mentioned.

Does anyone else still have this issue ? I assume there would be another CSP for this

We have a 2024 Reserve 1 non hybrid. If we set both front seat heaters to high, they of course remain on high and do not ramp down like the Buick you mentioned. However, if you shut the car off with the passenger seat on high, and start it up with no passenger the seat heater is automatically turned off. If a passenger gets back in, the car turns the seat heater back on to high. So ours senses the passenger's presence but does not ramp the temperature down automatically.

Hinckley is correct -- the 48" panorama is not a touch screen, so it would not be possible to interact with the Waze display to report and confirm incidents. All the Waze interactions can only be done on the 11" touch screen. Think of the upper panorama as sort of a Heads-Up Display.
However, with one of the software updates, a mini-Waze info box with the next turn info now appears on the panorama screen. No map, just the next turn info like the exit number and lane info. Not much info but better than the previously blank area on the panorama with Waze.
For me, when I need navigation, I use Google maps. Once the route is calculated and the map is displayed on the upper screen with the navigation and turn information (and after the software update now also includes time and mileage to your destination), then open the native Waze app from the Play store on the 11" touchscreen. Then I can hear the Waze alerts and report my own alerts, all the while having the Google map and turn info on the upper screen. In other words, the best of both.
If you try to use Waze for navigating to a destination, then the upper screen displays the small info box (after the update). Someone remarked that Waze should be a native app. I think all the apps available in the system's Play store are considered native as they are not running off of an Android or Apple phone but part of the native Lincoln Digital Experience.
Lincoln could easily make a duplicate of the lower map screen on the 48" screen that is view only for CarPlay or Android Auto. The built-in maps show on both screens, but CarPlay and Android Auto do not.
