Open Letter to Lincoln - How I'd Improve the Nautilus

After 7000 miles, I consider the primary weakness is the center display and having all AC controls soft touch. I always have issues activating a touch. The nested menus can take multiple touch. There should be some "recent used" (for non-AC) to allow shortcuts for tasks like center display brightness offset. The scrolling aspect of menus is not good for drivers.
Good point and I would agree. I find the voice command solves this and is fast. Set temp to 71, turn on heated seat to 2, etc etc. works great and don’t have to fumble with the soft controls.

I also use the voice commands for climate controls. Hey Google set temp to , or turn on heated drivers seat. Much easier than trying to landmark buttons.

Improved camera for 360 view, mine is blurry and I can't see items around the vehicle clearly.

They also need better software to confirm the integrity of the system (hardware and software).

As for software updates, the integrity of updates has been a problem. Some updates have been on hold after release and other have had issues (like 24B54) that lead to issues when dealers did it.

I would really appreciate a voltmeter and ammeter for the 12v battery. The system already has this data. A simple software update would take care of this. I don't need it on the screen all the time. Just some basic diagnostic tools so I can see what is going on.

Would like an ability on the fob/remote app to close panoramic roof or option to close all windows/roof when car is locked.

Hi Roguewave and welcome to the Lincoln Forums. That is the “Global Open/Close” feature. Unless something has changed for 2024: Press and hold the lock button on the key fob.

Let us know how you make out and good luck.

Thanks for the response. Unfortunately, the fob ,the app nor the touch pad on the door seem to work.

Was also thinking of rain sensing close like the wipers would be nice! It does rain here from time to time :-)

Hi RogueWave. I had a little Oooops there.

If the Global Open/Close procedure has remained the same, to close the windows/moonroof remotely with the keyfob, you need to…
- First press and release the lock button.
- Then press and hold the lock button again, for approximately 5 seconds.

Remote opening of the windows/moonroof, using the fob, consists of…
- Press and release the unlock button.
- Then press and hold the unlock button for approximately 5 seconds.

Give this a try.

If that dies not work, try to determine if your trim level and options include Global Open/Close.

If yes, have it checked when you have time.

Keep us updated and good luck.

Lincoln executives have been watching this community for years. They've also made improvements to their vehicles based upon what they've read here. They are listening to you.

This discussion will serve as a quick and easy way for Lincoln executives to gauge interest and help make decisions moving forward.

As a Nautilus driver, you should state exactly what you'd like to see enhanced, added, and/or omitted from your Lincoln Nautilus.

Any posts that don't stick to the subject matter will be moved elsewhere.
For a $67k+ Lincoln should have two things, better dealerships and better sound deadening.

For the dealership, my new 24 Nautilus Reserve has the Customer Satisfaction Program 24P07 waiting to go back to service.
The first week of getting a new vehicle November 19, 2024 I found out this program was never taken care of.
The big travesty is that Lincoln is making me wait 4 weeks for Service (scheduled for 12/20/24).
Yes four weeks for my vehicle to go back into service for them to look at this program.
To add insult to injury it probably will not get resolved the first time around because I don’t think they have the parts in stock for replacement.

As far as the sound deadening goes, I’ve had previous Lincoln’s but never this model and the road noise is ridiculously loud.

What a shame..

The road noise might be the tires.

Hello BBF2530,
Tried the lock/unlock button but only the windows lower/raise when doing it. I'm thinking they didn't roll that functionality forward. My vehicle is a 2024 Nautilus hybrid with the 203A option package or the Reserve III.
Wondering if anyone else is experiencing....
Thanks for responding

I don’t disagree. It may be the Goodyear tires, the blackout edition increased the wheels to 22”.
Whatever it is, it’s a Lincoln problem.

The controls for the rear hatch and cabin brightness are a long reach. I do not think there was enough human factors (usability) in the design).

1. center display too low and raising an 1 inch would not reduce view of 48 in display
2. Menus complicated for most used commands. Touch cannot detect touch at times
3. Brightness controls too low on left and not easy to feel
4. Soft HVAC controls
5. The automotive icon selection where you see traction control, settings, etc could have often used commands) since getting into settings always takes at least two touches before you can even get to the list then at least 2 more touches (3rd level item and then setting).

The placement and order of those icons is configurable. Drag and drop.

@angore I am note sure how to do what you describe. I see it now it is mentioned in the user manual

  • Think of the icons as being in a grid.
  • Place your finger on the screen on top of the icon you want to move.
  • Without lifting your finger from the screen, move your finger ("dragging" the icon) to where you want to place it in the grid. You can move it up, down, left or right.
  • When the icon is where you want it on the grid, lift your finger off the screen and the icon will be "dropped" in the new position on the grid.
  • The icon you displaced will move one position down the grid of icons.
  • Let us know how you make out.

The placement is configurable but cannot add submenu items. I never use any function except setting.. There is plenty of space to add more to make menu system less deep (levels to get where you want).
