2024 Nautilus software and battery issues

I don’t see anything in the Lincoln Way app, isn’t there supposed to be a notification there?
The used to be CSP section but it disapp
I'm seeing it in my online account on the 'Recalls' page of the Owner Dashboard. Historically the Lincoln Way app doesn't show TSP/CSPs, only recalls.

There was a CSP Recall status back in May that displayed what website showed but disappeared.

I reached out to Haz to see what he can find on it.
He is usually very prompt. In my experience the recall ssms must get posted overnight since I see new ones by 6am and Haz has them up by 7am eastern.

As this thread has become mainly about the battery drain issues, maybe someone could start a new thread on this topic when/if we get more info. If this is the software update we've all been waiting for, it's big news to all owners.

Check the website. It usually appears there before it appears on Lincoln Way.

Haz posted details. It is not over the air. It reads like the big one.
Damn. I was hoping it was OTA. My wife's not going to like taking it in after just having it there six weeks.

I'll await the reports of you guinea pigs. 😁

The CSP tile only appears if there's an active recall/CSP to reveal. I would expect the Lincoln Way app to show this CSP very soon.

Bummer. I just had my car in the shop yesterday for the couple of battery drain CSP software updates and window recall software update.

I never saw the battery drain or rotor csps sown but those did not involve letter notification.
The rotor was never a CSP, only an SSM. But I think I saw all other CSPs on Lincoln Way, except maybe a couple I had fixed right away as it was already in the shop — weird.

You'll apparently have the option to do it as an OTA:

It sounds like multiple items are being touched in this update. The reference in the CSP for dealers to use the TRON tool, checking for additional updates, sounds like there's a chance things may not play well together if everything isn't brought up to latest firmware.

I believe the basic issue with the Nautilus is just high power consumption while off (systems left active that should be in lower power states off) and the battery management software logic.

In cases reported here where battery dies within 12 hours of a drive (seems to be the majority of situations reported), the Nautilus should be smart enough to compare SOC and detect high drain rates and report quickly that something is not right. That is, alert proactively rather than the reactive deep sleep action (by then too late).

There may be a flaw in the ability to shut off these systems (bad code keeping busses active) but it should not affect the ability to report higher than expected current drain when off. The little battery icon also could have the voltage or SOC displayed on 48 inch display or at least make available in a parameters page in infotainment display.

The next question is what do you do when you get the warning? Power on Nauti, reboot, etc? if these actions could reset software.

Curious to see how things work after the 24B54 software update round, along with the 3 specific battery drain updates.
There may (or may not) be some battery work in 54, falling under "performance" in the update description.

Have we had any quick drains reported after the three battery drain fixes were applied? Just curious.

Each module can have battery optimization improvements. In my experience, you can almost forever find little mAh improvements, but there becomes a point where it's not worth it. Obviously, we're not there yet, but I'm not confident the infotainment update is the smoking gun. I would guess elsewhere.

I'm not sure if we have any on a vehicle with all 3 specific battery drain CSPs implemented.
The 3 standalone CSP were for reprogramming of different modules than are listed for 54. I wouldn't be surprised if they took a look for any unintended APIM/GWM/TCU drains in coming up with the 54 CSP.

I have two battery updates and I requested all 3 so I assume the VDM fix was either not applicable or I had it.

CSP 24P14, the fix for VDM keeping the CANBUS awake, came out 23 May, so they may well have already installed it if it was applicable.

Yes!

A month after 24P08 (while on hold), 24P09 and 24P14 were installed I had my first deep sleep/no start situation, at six months and 4366 miles (non-hybrid).

The factory battery was replaced, 24P08 was reinstalled (no longer on hold), and 24P22 was installed.

Two weeks and 450 miles later I had a deep sleep/no start again, with the new battery and all updates current.

Maybe it is coincidental, but both deep sleep/no start situations occurred the morning after 75 to 100 mile drives. I typically make multiple daily drives of 20 miles or less, and have had no battery problems other than after the lengthier drives.

My car is at the dealer now having 24B54 installed, I have another lengthy drive later this month, and I have a GOOLOO 4000 jump starter in the car, so I guess I'll see what happens.

Just stop every 15 minutes on your lengthy drive and you should be okay.
