2024 Hybrid Nautilus (Engine Problems)

What does "seed stock" mean? Trying to guess if this means there will be parts stock to fix my car at the dealership (waiting to be delivered to me) or if I will have to wait for them to "open order parts" starting June 3rd.. and who knows how long that will take.
There's no reason to take delivery of an un-repaired hybrid at this point, imo. My guess is that your dealer will be motivated to get your vehicle near the top of the repair list in order to make delivery and record the sale.

Oh I completely agree - just anxious... took forever to come over 'on the boat' only to wait for a recall we weren't told about very timely. Yes, I was told we are at the top of the list for repair. Appreciate getting information from this forum.

Finding this forum was so unexpected for me. There are very knowledgeable people here and I guarantee you'll get better answers from them than from almost any Lincoln sales or service person.

From Tammie B. on another site:
"Seed stock is when each dealer will be sent a set number of parts based on the number of vehicles sold."

Essentially it makes sure that all dealers who have sold hybrids get parts to make the repair, preventing "hogging" the parts, so they all get some.

Interesting enough - I just received a text from my salesman saying "Lincoln announced they are sending injector parts for hybrid Nautilus fix. Should have parts in a week or so."

So.... looking for advice and EXACTLY how to phrase my next conversation with the service manager. I have a hybrid with a VIN identified as an affected engine, but suffer no symptoms as of now (2000 +/- miles). How do you all suggest I get on the list and secure my loaner?

Hi NCNautilus. Here is what I would recommend: Call the Service Department and let them know you would like to schedule a service appointment for the fuel injector replacement for your 2024 Nautilus. Let them know you would like the soonest possible date when they will have the necessary parts and a loaner vehicle available.

The first person you get may only be a customer service scheduler. If they are not familiar with the situation, ask to speak to a Service Advisor or the Service Manager.

Let us know how you make out and good luck.

New member here and tomorrow I'm scheduled to go to my local Lincoln Dealer and choose a 2023 Nautilus Hybrid.

I learned long ago, to check forums FIRST before buying and so glad I did do this today. Wow. Very instructive.

So, my dealer has 8 2024 hybrids in stock in the color I prefer. One has the Jet package which I don't care about but the other 7 do not.

Since the Lincoln website has VIN numbers for all 8 vehicles I was able to run those VINs through the Recall checker. 6 of the 8 have the Injector CSP listed and about 3 or those had a software update listed as well. So, I now have 2 cars to choose from at this point. The one with the Jet package and one other had zero recalls and zero customer CSPs listed. I only checked the cars in my preferred color- white.

Thank you thank you thank you for this timely valuable info. But I am wondering if I should hold off my purchase of this vehicle right now? I don't have to buy - my 2016 MKX is running fine. It's just that it's 8 years old and I replace cars at this age now a days (I used to get a new car every 2-3 years).

We tow my MKX behind our motorhome and the 2024 Hybrid is one of the few vehicles I'm interested in that can be flat-towed (4-wheels on the ground).

Further updating my "new" purchase supposedly tomorrow of the 2024 Nautilus Hybrid.

I went through all 15 VIN numbers at my two local dealers. Every one of them was on the CSP list. Then I found a total of three between the 2-dealers that were not on the list. Guess what? All three were "In Transit". In other words they were newer built versions.

I contacted my dealer and cancelled my appointment for tomorrow. I'll wait till some newer builds are available that are not on the CSP list. I may put a deposit on one to hold it, before it arrives IF it's fully refundable.

The new injectors should be reaching dealers very soon so why not reserve one of the existing stock. Some may try to get a better deal. It can depend on salesmen trying to close sales by end of the month.

That's another possibility. Whatever I'm going to wait a while. My salesman said "maybe we've already fixed some of ours." But he had no clue about the fuel injector issue and said no one had mentioned this CSP at his dealership. And, "supposedly" they are the largest selling Lincoln dealer in the country.

I just checked and the dealer says that the parts for injector replacements are not expected to Mid-June, about the time the in-transit vehicles are expected to arrive, as well.

If you are not pressured to buy then waiting will solve all your concerns. No Rattles on rear suspension, New injectors from factory and most software corrected. The sales people have no info on service nor are they interested when all hybrids on the list are recommended delivery hold no demo drives. They just want to move cars. If you wait for factory builds of 03/24 and beyond you are in the best position. One more month is nothing.

I agree. I've got zero pressure forcing me to buy right now.

Another one. We have 380 miles on the meter. Bought the Hybrid model in Cinci last saturday (5/3) and by tuesday I was on the side of the road and gas was leaking by the exhaust with the car not turning on. Def a fuel injector issue. We have opened a case with Lincoln Concierge. We did not even driven it 80 miles before this issue happened. Got a loaner car today. Will keep everyone updated.
Same happened to me at 390miles on saturday after picking up on Friday. Don't know if I want the new engine or to do the buy back and get a new one. What are you doing

This may burst a few bubbles, mine if this isn’t true - according to my service advisor, they will schedule your injector replacement after you get your letter from Lincoln saying your injectors are available. All of us affected hybrid owners are waiting for golden tickets. No advance reservations.

Sorry, but I have an appointment to get the injectors, and I received no letter.
